Tick-Tock

This year is almost done. Let's cross our fingers for a better 2009. WoW! '09. Where does the time go? Seems like it was just December 31, 1999 and we were ringing in 2000. HA!

Well we of course are spending the night in. Dad dude got home from work. He actually worked days this week. So anyway he got home and then went on a munchie's run. Silly man thought stores were closed tomorrow, but they are open. Anyway. What did he bring home?

Well there is :

  • Toasted Ravioli
  • Mozzarella sticks
  • Stuff mushrooms (all mine of course)
  • Krab Dip
  • Kaukauna Port Wine Cheese
and for a special treat for Catcher Dude (because I feel bad for him stuck at home with parents) A $7 tub of Choc. Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

Plus he brough home cabbage, black eye'd peas, and ham. I am leaving no stone unturned for this years good fortune. lol.

That is our night. Actually there are some fireworks and snappers in my dresser I am thinking about slipping to CD. I am going to try and make it to midnight for the CD. So I am not taking pain meds yet. Though I might be dieing of pain here soon. lol.

New Year's Resolutions.

I have been thinking about this one. I seem to make them and they never stick. Then I was blog browsing as I do and came across this list, and I knew this was for me. I changed slightly to fit this household, and me. Time to use reverse psychology. That's right!! Thanks to this blogger. I am copying her idea on a fool-proof list of New Year's Resolutions.

  1. I will not lost weight. I will be sure to not lose a single pound this year. I will not eat healthier
  2. I will not drive kid to all his activities. No driving to and from practices, games, clinics, and private lessons. No TKD either.
  3. I will make sure I am never caught up on laundry. Let it pile up!!
  4. I will lose my temper with with hubby and kid on daily bases.
  5. I will procrastinate. Every chance I get.

So there it is. My New Year's Resolutions. See if I can screw this one up as I do every year, or for once in my life I can say I kept my New Years Resolution.

~*~* Happy 2009. To great health, wealth, and happiness this year. ~*~ *

The Scrappy Ribbon Garland

Whitney Caroline Designs: The Scrappy Ribbon Garland

I was guided to this post today and thought it was way to cute not to share.

The Scrappy Ribbon Garland

To celebrate another successful Christmas season for Whitney Caroline Designs, I decided to take all of this year's ribbon scraps and make something wonderful! With the help of two strands of Christmas lights, I believe I have done just that! So, after several hours of tying and trimming, I proudly present, "The Scrappy Ribbon Garland!"

If you go to her blog there is all sorts of photos. I would post here but I do not want to be "stealing" pictures. If I ever get around to doing this with a strand I have here I will post my pictures.

Please visit her blog. It really is a nice place and I only stayed a couple minutes looking around.

Disappearing

All signs of the holidays. CD & CDD took down the lights today from the house. The weather was warm and soon to turn colder so CD thought it would be a good day to take all the outdoor decorations. :(

I love the decorations. It is my favorite part of the holiday season. The tree is still up so I can still sneak in late at night dragging blanket and pillow behind me and snuggle up in my favorite chair and click on the lights and lay and stare. I was totally not in the mood to put the stuff out this year. I really saw no sense. But the one thing that save me this past week was the tree. All the restless nights of not sleeping due to pain or uncomfortableness. I could sneak in and turn on the lights. Watch them. Falling back in and out of sleep. :) I will miss it. Though I bet if I sweet talked bribed catcher dude enough, he will put off taking the tree down for a while longer. lol. Might catch holy heck from CDD as he was told to take it down. lol. But I bet I can stall them for a tad longer. May? June? LOL.

I just don't think we get to enjoy the lights and decorations enough. I want more time. Maybe after Halloween next year? hmmm ...

Sunday this, that, venting all in one

So I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures from Christmas day. It was a nice day. Quiet. Actually my mother surprised me with a digital camera for my Anniversary. (I was very clear we would not be doing Christmas this year!) So she wrapped it up in wedding paper.

Catcher Dude got me a necklace. It is the most precious thing. I can not help but cry every time I read it.

Now Catcher dude .. he raked it in even though Christmas was suppose to be back burner. Mainly clothes. Gift Cards and money.

We had a nice day. No cooking, cleaning, yelling, fighting .. just quiet. We mainly just watched DVD's in bed all day. (Of course what else could I do?)

Tree before it was ransacked.

Catcher Dude opening gift.

What ever. I see 2009 is the year for us to COMPLETELY disagree.
(Mom will have finally say .. my house, my roof, my car that has to transport ya)

Finally putting together car he got 3-4 years ago.

Nothing really new today. I am just trying to stop being bored. I am still feeling like complete doo-doo. I called the Dr. office on Friday. What a waste of time. They were open. But the surgeon on call seeing patients had no clue about my type of surgery. The nurse on call knew nothing about it either. So they both wanted me to come in this week. BUT my Dr. is on vacation.

I am really getting annoyed. I still can not really sit, or stand the pain. I am supposed to drive kid to his baseball camp we bought him starting tomorrow. There is no way. So that money is down the drain!! DH is really pissed off'ed. DS is mad and disappointed.

I really messed up. I should have put my foot down and said NO! But I let this Dr. bully me. So that is the "great" update. I just try to stay out of every one's way. I seem to just make them more mad when I need help. So I just lay .. quiet and try to make no requests.

I tried to tidy up around here today. No one else is doing anything! I managed to crawl down the stairs to do some laundry. I was totally out of under clothes and towels. 3-4x day site baths can do that. That 'bout killed me. But DH is not here he left for the day. DS is sleeping and won't get up and help. As I said before my needing people and help has worn out it's welcome.

Catcher Dude and his clothes .. oy! I am the biggest "pick your battles" type person. But he HAS to find jeans that fit him. I hate the ones he is wearing. We have been 'round and 'round on this. He has to move out of the kids section for jeans, though really in waist he is not ready. The 14's are really to big in the waist, and really, really to short in the length. 16's are just a tad longer, but not enough and they swallow him in waist. Talk about saggin and belt Nada!! .. Oy!

So we tried taking him over to men's. The smallest I could find was 29x30. The length perfect! Waist .. oh boy, he will be suspended by first block. lol. The kid sizes are not long enough.

But what does he do yesterday? Bought the 28 x 30. Sigh! I am so mad I could spit! He gets suspended and he will NOT be playing ball. PERIOD! I could care less about what dad and him say. I am the driver. (Well if I can ever drive again. lol)

Let's see what else?? Hmm .. well I guess that is about it for my hodge podge of news and vents.

Post Surgery Check-in

Yeah Me!! I survived through yesterday. Still in massive pain. The pain pills were not keeping up last night and most part of today. But since around 4 seems they are keeping up better. Now hopefully we are on the last road of recovery and feeling better. Though I do have another surgery ahead of me in 8 weeks. But baby steps. Just worry about the now.

But I just feel so gosh darn old now. This just seems like something older people would have troubles with. But I suppose Fistula's are not age discriminatory. LOL. But seriously? First within the last month I have had reoccurring heartburn. Now I have to drink this god awful Metamucil. *blah!* Switch to a High bulk diet. I just feel old. I am cancel all birthdays from here or out.

But alas I am alive and kicking so enough wallowing in this. I will just deal. *pulling big girl pants on* stepping off vent box.

So 2 days until Christmas. Cold enough. But no snow. It was raining/freezing/sleeting early but that has stopped. I really wanted a White Christmas. Oh well.

Catcher Dude got some sad news this afternoon. He was all paid up and planning on going to a baseball camp next week but there was not enough interest and it was cancelled. Bummer!!

There was a present elf that showed up and a few misfits fell out of their bags and under my tree. Not sure how that happen. Guess some elf thought there was a deserving receiver here. ;-)

Seriously I have no clue who those gifts are for as I can not bend under there and look with this drain, stitches, and rubber band. I will have to ask the hubby when he returns home if he knows where they appeared.

Well I am all over the place. Drugs! Nice. Kicked in again and I can not hold a thought.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE ... EVE.

Surgery Set ... Darn!!

I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and even though I begged, borrowed, and pleaded for him to wait until after the first of the year .. Nope!!

I have an abscess and fistula(??) that can not wait. I can not stand this surgeon. He has no bed side manners. He is rude and hateful. I hate this is the man I have to rely on. I barley could get him to stand still and explain what he was doing. Then when I asked how much will I be unconvinced with the drain I will have to have for 8 weeks, he flew off the handle. UGH!!

Excuse me?!? I am the only one here to take care of kid. Who does not stand still a minute. Every night he has some clinic, camp, lesson, etc. I just paid for him to take that 3 day camp week of News Years, So excuse me for wanting to know how I will/will not be getting around.

Of course it is the 22nd of December, my husband has no vacation left. Why would he? *rolling eyes* The Dr. was going to be nice (shocker there) and push all his surgeries back to place me first thing in a.m so DH could be there but still be able to leave by 1:15p to go to work. Oh but of course his employer changed their hours from 2p-12:30a to 6a-4:30p these coming up two weeks. Ugh! But least when I have to have the other surgery in 8 weeks he will have vacation again, and can be there. (That was DH reasoning .. whatever!!)

I am sick to death of there being something wrong with me all the time. I have been on some type of antibiotics since end of August. One type of infection after another. You would think ONE Dr. could pin point this and fix it. But no I have bounced from Dr. to Dr. fixing one infection in this area .. to another infection in this area. The top of my microwave looks like the darn pharmacy at Wal-greens. lol.

I really did not want to be laid up for Christmas. This is one of my favorite times when Catcher Dude is home. I hate .. hate .. hate .. this!!

(Stomping my feet and pouting!!)

First Liners

So I saw this idea on Life's Crises and I stole it decided to copy the idea. She got the idea from a blogger, which got it from a blogger, and well you get the idea.

What was the first line from your blog the first day of each month in 2008?
(As I started this process I realized there was a couple problems with this. (1) I didn't always post on the 1st day of the month. (2) Wasn't around a lot of the time at the beginning of the year. So I will have to make do.)

January - "So many things right now and I could not even begin to list them all." (written by DS .. was referring to what he misses)

February - "I believe hitting a round ball with a round bat is the hardest thing to do in all of sports." (Written by DS .. was writing about baseball)

March - NO POSTING THE WHOLE MONTH

April - NO POSTING THE WHOLE MONTH

May - "CYCLONES BREAK OUT THE HEAVY LUMBER IN POOL PLAY" (written by DS .. talking about tournament they played that weekend.

June - "When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has
ever cleaned that spotty shower door." (post about uses for WD 40)

July - "Man it has been a long and hard recovery to get back in the swing on things." (talking about my 6.5 months disappearance)

August - "I can not believe Monday school is here. Where did the summer go?" (self-explanatory.)

September - "So today is a holiday." (Labor Day)

October - "So that means for Catcher Dude the painful start of the fall season." (referring to baseball ending until January 2009)

November - "Though I am still not feeling all that well, guess I am going to have to see another Dr." (Health issues were still popping up all over the place)

December - "It's hard to believe that December has arrived" (Self-explanatory, I still feel this way.

I may do this on a yearly bases now. This year was a rough year. Just flipping back brought up those memories that I was all to eager to want to forget.

Our Favorite Day

So we ended up with our snow day today. Though we totally blew the day off. CD and I didn't even bother to get dressed. I didn't even have to get out to take dad dude to catch his ride for work. Catcher Dude actually slept most of the morning away. He has always been my sleeper. Even as an infant. He was my 12 hour baby. No matter what time he went to bed .. 12 hours later he would wake up. It was crazy. I was never really a sleep deprived mom.

Anyway when he finally rose from the dead bed we enjoyed the day. I broke down and even played PS2 with CD. I hate playing PS2 with him. He only has driving games or sports for the most part. I can do neither. Plus he plays them so much he has them mastered and no one likes playing with him. His friends, if and when they ever come over here, will not play with him. He kills them. LOL. Oh well. He agreed to play some non-sports game, non-driving game. It was all good. Then we snuggled up vegged out and watched a couple of the Christmas movies I have saved up on my TIVO. That was the extent of our SNOW DAY.

More snow and ice is to come middle of night. CD is totally hoping school is cancelled the rest of the week. Every day/night is calling for ice and snow so there is a possibility. I do not hold thy breathe. Though I am looking forward to winter break, screw it .. CHRISTMAS BREAK. Though we have a busy packed two weeks planned it is still always nice to have him home. When I get him up and out of bed. lol.

Oh .. almost forgot. On the Dr front. With the holidays upon us the office is really short staffed. I really didn't want to go back to the same Dr. I saw before, but not really a choice. So even though they are really booked solid until New Years Eve, crabby-no bed side manners-older than dirt Dr. will squeeze me in tomorrow. *crossing fingers* roads are okay for me to drive on. But I when I have to do the follow up appointment I am going to see about switching to this woman they have in the practice. I am hoping she will be easier to talk to, and has better bed side manners. *sigh* This is one reason I never went back to follow up with him the last time I was there I hated, and I hardly ever say I hate something, hated this Dr. *sigh*

Well I am back off to watch more TV and head to bed.

Winter Storm Brings Ice And Snow ...

Or so they are forecasting. lol.

(myFOX.com) -- A winter storm will bring freezing rain, sleet, and snow to the area overnight Sunday into Monday. A cold front moving rapidly across the Midwest is ushering in Arctic air and rain along the front will change to freezing rain then sleet and finally to snow. Ice will glaze trees, cars, and roads. Crews are preparing for an slippery Monday morning commute.

CD is hoping and wishing and praying for a snow day!! Momma loves snow days!! BUT mamma's cyst appeared again early this A.M. and I need to get to the general surgeons office a.s.a.p tomorrow. Dad dude is outta vacation days so he can not stay and bitch and moan drive me. So let I am having mixed emotions on this weather. I want a snow day, but I want to get to the Dr's office.

So guess we will see. 4 more hours and it should be here. Or Not. Now I do not want a repeat of Dec 1, 2006

Meanwhile today was a lay around type of day.

Friday is here

So I managed to make it through yesterday. I go back again on the 6Th of January for them to finish what the started. I still do not understand what happen to cause a root canal to fail, but for them to fix it they have to go through the gum. Oh .. okay .. WTF! So they will complete the process in January. Glad they kept looking until the found the source of the infection. What a PITA!!

Now this morning for whatever reason, catcher dude thought it would be so fun .. fun .. capital F-U-N!! (NOT!!) To wake up with the stomach flu. :( Poor guy! Thank goodness dad dude was home today so he watched him while I went to school with a truck full of groceries. Otherwise we would have had them either
a) in the truck all weekend
or
2) piled in the house all weekend.

I decided whatever we have will just have to do for M-Th next week. Then they are out until January 6Th.

So I guess this is our weekend. Hopefully CD isn't sick to much longer. I don't like my wee one lil like this, and apparently the dad dude sucks at nursing. When I got home from school I stopped back in to see what I could go get CD from the store. Sprite & jell-o. But sent dad and you stay. LOL. Okay. So now dad dude is calling non-stop from store and I am home.

Well the laundry & dishes gremlin's have struck again so I am off to tackle them.

Surgery Day

Is here. Finally they have made up their minds what is wrong, and how to fix it. It has been many of weeks of on again, off again, this Dr, that Dr. *sigh*

I am glad they finally picked something. But I am a tad bit worried. I really had not thought much about it, or talked about it really even. It has been such a flip-flop-ity thing I figured it would be postponed or cancelled AGAIN. But here we are.

See ya when I see ya.

Happy Thursday!!!!!

Christmas Meme

I have seen this meme on several blogs. I usually do not do meme's, but I am all about Christmas so I thought I would chime in.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Usually always wrapping paper. Occasionally I will use a bag, but I enjoy paper better. Usually snowman. I just  snowmen.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Always had an artificial. I have mentioned getting a real tree a couple times, but DH says they are a pain.

3. When do you put up the tree? Usually Thanksgiving night, or next day.

4. When do you take the tree down? Varies. Usually first week in January. Once it was in April or May. Then there was the year of the ice storm, that tree didn't get down at all that year. lol.

5. Do you like eggnog? Sure. Why not?

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Didn't have Christmas as a child. But one December in possible '79 -'80 my parents got me Operation and a Polaroid camera. I still remember those gifts.

7. Hardest person to buy for? Since usually I only buy for husband or child, I will go with husband.

8. Easiest person to buy for? Since usually I only buy for husband or child, I will go with child.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yep, well son does. He sets it up in his room on the top of his dresser.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? If I send them, mail cards.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Nothing comes to mind.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Oh I have so many. I will go top 3, in no particular order. (1) The Santa Clause. (2) It's a Wonder Life. (3) Polar Express.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually sometime in December. This year though since we are not having Christmas I didn't have to shop at all.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Not that I can remember .. [thinking .. thinking .. thinking] Nope. Least not that I recall.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Everything. LOL. I am a fan of Christmas cookies.

16. Lights on the tree? Yes. Clear.

17. Favorite Christmas songs: All of them. I am a BIG BIG fan of Christmas music.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home. Though last couple years son and I drove over to my mothers, but that less than 3 miles, so I do not think that is considered traveling. This year we won't even have to do that.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Hmm .. possible, maybe, probably since I seen the answers.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We had a star of the top of our first Christmas tree when we first got married. Then we bought our BIG tree and we had a big bow that went on top. When the bow broke we had an angel. Then we downsized tree and we can not find an angel or a star that doesn't bend the top, and isn't heavy. I think I will go back to a bow, just thought of that as I was typing this answer. But to answer question: Currently nothing.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Attitudes.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Homemade.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Ham, yams, pecan & Pumpkin pie.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? I am good.

Another Cookie post

So I was browsing Another On-line Mom this morning and she shared these wonder sites. So I am so excited she shared!! We are making our list now of cookies & treats we are going to make.

The first site: http://www.christmas-cookies.com/. There are a lot if recipes here!

BHG's Site also has recipes for All-time Favorite Christmas cookies on its site at: http://www.bhg.com/holidays/christmas/cookies/favorite-christmas-cookies-and-bars/.

I know AOM asked. "What are your favorites?"

Really I am a fan of all assortments. I think my one of my easiest to make favorites would be the cookies we make in the cookie press, for the life of me I can not remember the name at this moment. But they are so quick and easy and yield butt loads.

December has arrived

It's hard to believe that December has arrived. Wow, where did the year go!?! With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, the month will pass by all too quickly. But, make sure to find a few minutes to enjoy and savor the many other holidays and events that occur in December.

Today is Eat a Red Apple Day. Hope you eat an apple today, and every day.

So we have another dusting of snow. I am the type person either snow or do not snow but stop half assing it. Dump it, and close the city!!

My battery died, so I didn't get a chance to snap any holiday decorating pictures of catcher dude's handy work.

I went out already this morning and went shopping for school cart. Got all my paper work in order and ready to turn in. I found a ubber cute coin bank for catcher dude's room. Of course his room is baseball theme, so when I saw this bank that was a baseball, I had to buy it. :)

I need to get some more cards filled out. I am shooting for Thursday as a mail out date. We will see. Dang!kid! got me all in the holiday mood with his decorating. I was all willing, prepared, set to let the season go by. Oh well. Fa-la-la-la!!

Happy last day of November

Well the calendar reads Nov. 30. But if you open your door this morning with snow we received and the chilly temps, you would think December has arrived. I am drowning in dishes and laundry. I do believe Farmer*s Wife's Gremlin's visited. I did a few loads of each yesterday, but still drowning.

Catcher Dude decided he was having his decorations. I went Friday for a job interview and came home to winter wonderland in the living room. Yesterday CD climbed on the roof. (YIKES!! Momma heart attack!!) He wanted lights on the roof. He and I argued and fought agreed nicely to a compromise, and he only put a single strand across the front.

I will admit it is pretty and I love how it choose to place all the decorations this year. It was nice it was done with his style and taste this year. After all Christmas and the likes are in fact for the children.

I will snap a few pictures later today.

Well all the doings are not going to get done, without me up and out of this chair. So I suppose I will get moving and hopefully win the battle today.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Well before I could snap any prrrettie snow pictures the snow melted. Darn! Don't see a snow day in Catcher Dudes future tomorrow.

I did get one load of dishes done, and three more loads laundry. But I degress .. there is still more.

Pictures of his master piece living room still to come.

Hope everyone else's last day of November is going well.

Thanksgiving 2008

HAPPY THANKSGIVING .....

I hope everyone is enjoying their day with those they can, and care about. We are spending a quiet day home, alone, with just the three of us, no plans. We hardly are ever home all together. Sure we will spend a lot of the day in separate rooms. The teen in his, playing his video games. The hubby in his, watching his football. Me? What ever room I float into. I am a floater. But we are under one roof. Safe and sound.

Enjoy your day!!

Rest in Peace ..

I posted the same title back last Dec.

Well my aunt from that post decided it was time to go as well. Lasted 11 months after her husband. Which BTW they never would tell her he passed away. That is the dumbest thing I have heard of. (IMHO)

Though I am very sad she is gone. She really was gone long before today. I hate so bad that Alzheimer’s takes so much from you. Takes you from your loved ones. It really is a hard disease to come to terms with. I can not remember how long she has been in a nuring home. 6-7 years. Of not speaking. Of not walking. Hand fed. She really was back at baby stage. She is much better off. She had stopped being able to eat about 11 days ago.

Also I never updated my facts from that earlier post. I had it as 2 of the 5 girls has been dignoised with Alzheimer's. Nope. That is 3 of the 5. But actually one sister died in 72 with cancer. So those that remain .. 3 of the 4. Who is the fourth?

My mother ......

I am scared to death!

Had I known 13 years ago that it would run through my family, even though they claim Alzheimer's does not run in the family and that is is not heredity, I would have never gotten married. I would have never had children!! I feel very strongly about this.

(sorry once again I got wrapped up in talking about that .. happen last time as well)

The family reunion is scheduled for Saturday, this date has been set since my uncles funeral last December, and her funeral is Sunday. I personally wish they would do it all in one day. It is a 2 hour drive each way. I do not want to have to drive back and forth Saturday and Sunday. I am not sure what her children are thinking. *sigh*

I am just happy she is not trapped in that body of hers anymore. That is she not in pain anymore.

God Bless!!

Twas the night before Thanksgiving.

So I have ran my lil bum all over today. I realized this a.m. we probably had some last minute items that needed picking up. Then I sprung up outta bed realizing .. as of 1 pm there will be no transportation here again until 2 am, and stores are all closing at midnight. Ummm .. Guess I better get movin.

So Catcher Dude and I ran to the store. I was actually prepared for long lines. But they were really good. So my plan was run us to the store. Make sure I got all I wanted/needed. Make sure I got all CD wanted/needed. Then run his lil butt into school. Um .. NOPE not how that went down.

We went to store. Got stuff for him to make him happy. Plus I saw this commercial the other day for a new One A Day Multi-Vitamin for teen boys. Saw that and thought Score! Home Run! We are taking these home.

Left there, brought groceries home. Then I sucked in and let CD stay home so he could go to TKD morning class, since he would miss again tonight, no car. Then off again to Sam's. Oh but we didn't make it there. We ended up at TRU, looking around.

So then it was time to drop him off at TKD. I ran up to school, dropped off left of purchases yesterday. Worked the cart for an hour. Rushed off picked up CD from TKD. We realized we forgot the crust for his cheesecake. So back to grocery store. Then home. For dad dude and him to rush off to park to throw. Back home. Dad dude left for work and Catcher dude and I set off on our dessert adventure. We made:

Cheesecake
Chocolate Pie
Pumpkin Spice Pudding
Pumpkin Pie (currently baking)

We might bake a cake later, still not sure about that one. Now I am sitting and resting. I am just beat. Plus we didn't get the best news today. But more later on that one.

I found a cute story/poem I will leave you with:

'Twas The Night Before Thanksgiving

'Twas the Night before Thanksgiving and all through the house
Mom was at the stove stirring and splattered her blouse.

The kids were in their beds, tucked in with care
while mom was in the kitchen, ready to pull out her hair.

The turkey, still frozen, sat in the sink
And all she could think of was "I need a drink."

The potatoes, cranberry sauce and the punch that was spiked
And the green bean with onion stuff that nobody liked,

All sat ready, in the fridge peacefully
And mom’s next thought was "I could really use some sleep."

But not yet, because though the food was prepared
Now the house had to be cleaned - except for upstairs.

So she scrubbed and she dusted up high and down low,
But she smartly skipped anything that wouldn't show.

Toward midnight it was, and tired was she
After prepping the meal and cleaning - Yippee!

For now it was time to get a little sleep
She was tired enough, no need to count sheep.

Because in a few short hours, the chaos would begin
And she would then know if she really did win.

When she sees the smiles and hears the laughter flow
Then, and only then, will she know

That even though a mom works harder than most
It is worth it when you are known as the host

That makes sure her family and her guests have their fun
And good food to eat when her work is done.

But she better sit down and have a glass of wine
Because she'll do it all again in a short month's time.

Tuesday Ramble ..err Venting

So I have absolutely nadda exciting around here. So I will just mindless ramble venting.

I have to go to Sam's here in about 20 minutes. Shopping for school. Which with only 2 days left this week what a waste. I wish we could have made it through the week. Oh well. Stuff will be ready for Monday.

Catcher Dude bought a ticket to the 1/2 day blow off classes have fun in the cafe day. (I have no clue what they titled it) That was nice and all. BUT!! He bought it at lunch, went to 4Th block, lost it. *thud* That child loses crap all the time. Guess someone will have a good time on his dime. *grr*

I do believe I have pissed off thy mother. She called from store (now here is the kicker, why didn't she call BEFORE she left) saying she was at the store buying for Thanksgiving, are we coming. Um, nah. Don't think so. She flew off the handle, saying well guess I will leave. No sense shopping. Okay well you still have 5 other people to fed. But watev.

If she is mad about Thanksgiving, wait until the other shoe drops and she finds we are bailing on the family reunion on Saturday.

Well my "I have a bright idea" husband has prevented me from being able to put our tree up. He got the bright idea to get rid of the big entertainment center and downsize. Well that is a good idea, BUT he was not able to sell it and now I can not put the tree up. Guess I should clear that up. I could .. but then if someone does come buy the darn thing couldn't get it out of the house with the tree up. So the tree will have to stay down as this is blocking rooms and if it can sell and go. It must! So .. no tree.

Though really since I was not doing any shopping this year for Christmas, CD already had said not to bother putting to *f*'er up. So why bother.

(Ya know this is more venting than rambling ..)

I am still trying to get this afghan done for catcherdude. I am skipping the nieces. Just no time. Period!

I love the season. The lights, music, the crisp weather, snow, parties, etc .. But anymore I just do not like dealing with it.

Well I really need to fly out and shop. Then get up to school. I probably will leave early though today as I want DH to have enough time to follow me over drop off moms car and bring me back home so he can get to work on time.

Happy Tuesday!!

Comes every 7 days.

Photobucket

yes yes yes, it's Monday ... again! Can you believe it? I know I can't .. Though, whats not to believe? Monday comes every 7 days.Guess I don't appreciate our calendar system as much as I should.

Guess I better get moving. Another fun filled packed Monday. DH's ride is still on vacation, so I have to get everything done I need to before 1, so DH can take my beloved car. I dislike that ride giver taken vacation. How DARE he? Doesn't he know I need him to go to work everyday so I don't have to give up my car? Hmpth!!

My picture went bye! Bye! So I replaced it.

Well I didn't get jack-shit done this morning, so I kidnapped borrowed my mothers car. Now I am set. I can resume errands. Just after I take a rest, grab a snack, and re-group.

on the seventh day

She rests. I have been very fortunate lately that on Sunday's I get to lay around all day. I absolutely did nadda today. I have been tivo'n lots of Christmas movies lately. So today I laid in bed all day and watched TV. Cat napped. It is so nice. Dad dude made dinner. Dad dude dishes. Dad dude took out trash. Yep! Finally he is movin and groovin. Guess he finally realized I do not give a Flyin Frisbee and it can all pile up to high heaven.

Last night was the fundraiser for catcher dudes baseball team. The team hosted Mouse Races. So they had 7 races. Plus there were silent auctions, mouse roulette, and Raffle baskets. I personally didn't want to go. I wanted to stay in bed, pull covers over head and stay put. But being the good lil mommy I am I got up and went. It was okay. It just bites the events are always 40-50 minutes away for us. So we left at 4p and didn't get home until after midnight. Dad dude was nice enough to work my shift for me so I could just sit, chat, and place bets. The team brought in approximately over $3000. Which was a nice amount. Unfortunately it still doesn't cover our share. I was hoping we would not be out anymore out of pocket for the upcoming season. Oh well.

Funny story though .. kids were not allowed to attend. So to make catcher dude feel like he wasn't left out I called him for picking numbers in the mouse roulette, picking mice, etc. The first call I made was number for 1st mouse roulette. He wanted 95. But the numbers only went to 50. So he picked 5. It was a $5 buy, with a payout of $125. I be damn if when the mouse was dropped on the board if it didn't run straight to number 5. Lil shit Darling lil Catcher dude won the $125. That was the only $5 one the did the rest of the night. The rest were $2 buy with payouts of $50.

Then second race he won $5. He picked the mouse named after him (they picked 11 mice and gave them names, plus their last names and player number) .. so his was Bulldog (last name #95). Actually this darn mouse kind of ran and leaped over the last two hurdles without touching carpet. lol. Freak! Then Catcher dude didn't bet again to the 6th race. He won again. Another $5. So all in all for having to stay home and miss out on a night out. He raked in the dough. He received $135 when we got home.

Dad dude and I ... we didn't do so well. Didn't win anymore roulettes, and our tickets were not picked for any of the baskets. Oh Well!! Catcher Dude is a happy camper.

Dr Appointment .. Spoiled One .. Oh My

So I had my yet another doctor appointment this morning. They have finally made a choice and Thursday December 11 @ bright and early 8 am I will finally be having surgery. I don't know if I should be whoo-hoo happy or not, but I am FINALLY glad we have come to a decision and it is set in stone now. Well.. pending insurance authorization.

When leaving there CDD decided since Catcher Dude was so upset last night he hasn't seen dad in a while, and they will miss each other tonight again as CDD is OT'ing tonight we would swing by school and pick him up for a brunch trip to Bob Evans. So that is what we did. Let him miss one class block and skipped across the parking lot to eat. CD was so happy to see CDD. You would think they had not seen each other in months. :)

Now CDD and I are back home. CD back at school. Now I am waiting for a Free-cycle pick up. But I am thinking they are a no-show!! Second no show on this same item. Maybe some charity will want to come pick this up. Oh well.

I will start laundry soon and sit and work more on this afghan for catcher dude. I really want to be done by next week so I can possible make a scarf and hat set for niece. I made niece #2 a blanket last Christmas. So I might even try to make a set for niece #1 & #2. But I don't believe I have time.

Well it is a rare thing for CDD to be awake and me at home, so I am going to go see what he is up to and probably start the laundry as it is apparent the lady bailed on the refrigerator.

Husband Tag

I saw a husband meme with a twist on A Familiar Path's Blog , so I thought I'd copy it! Here you go...

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
Sports! Football, baseball, hockey, or some sporty news type thing.

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
NONE. This man eats no salad.

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
Seriously? It would be shorter to list what he DOES like. This man eats hardly nadda!

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order?
We are never at a bar. I hate bars. If by chance he is at one, alone, which I never seen that, it would have been Bud Light, Bud heavy sometimes. (But since they sold out .. he is on strike)

5. Where did he go to high school?
Ritnour I believe, and I am not sure of the spelling either.

6. What size shoe does he wear?
I believe a 12. But I really am not sure.

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Wives? lol. I think it would be Sports crap, junk, memorabilia.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Roast Beef and Swiss.

9. What would he eat every day if he could?
Toasted Ravioli

10. What is his favorite cereal?
He really doesn't eat cereal. But I have seen him on occasions eat Frosted Flakes.

11. What would he never wear?
Heck if I know. Suits? Ties? Pants? No clue??? Since I have known him he has either worn his work clothes, or jeans and t-shirts. He is not a clothes person.

12. What is his favorite sports team?
What sports are we talking? Football: Broncos, Baseball: Red Soxs & Cardinals, Hockey: Flyers & Blues. The biggest probably what ever team his son is on.

13. Who will he vote for?
No one. He will not vote.

14. Who is his best friend?
Guess it would be BJ.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
That list I am sure is longer than the what I do list .. Stay home probably

16. How many states has he lived in?
Two.

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what would it be?
Yellow with chocolate icing.

18. Did he play sports in high school?
No. He missed try-outs.

19. What could he spend hours doing?
Watching sports on TV. Though sleeping runs a tight tie.

20. What's something cool about him?
He has excellent sense of directions.

Why did you stop!

So after a quiet evening of just hanging out. Getting our nightly reading and crocheting in. Little TV time. Just the nice norm I tend to enjoy after mad running for so many days in a row. So after all that Catcher Dude comes sits next to me and so ever so quietly asks ...

CD: "Mom? Are you mad at me?"
Stunned I replied, "Well of course not! (but thinking, why should I be? lol) Why would you ask that?"
CD: "Because, after all these years, the past 2 weeks you have not sent me off to school with your normal farewell greeting."
Me: "What? My farewell .. what in the curve ball are you talking about kiddo?" At this point I am thinking what in the world is this child been drinking? Is the cough medicine gone? Farmer*s Wife leave her wine out?

CD: "MOM! For as long as I can remember .. *pause* You have always stood at that door (pointing to the front door) and said the same thing day after day ..

"I Love you. Make good choices, use kind words. See you this afternoon."

Then it hit me! Doh! It had been such a habit! I didn't even realize I still said it. Much less .. HE WAS STILL LISTENING!!

CD: "I thought maybe you were mad. My days are just not the same." with the most sadden eyes.

I felt horrible. Who knew? My 13 year old was really still hearing me. But really I didn't have an answer why I had not sent him off that way. But I do remember a couple weeks ago him biting my head off standing there with my PJ's on and kids seeing me. I remember thinking then to stay away from the door. But I guess it was not staying away from the door and seeing him off he wanted to stop. It really was just the PJ thing!! *giggle*

I have to say I really love those mommy moments when it hits you like a 90 mile an hour fast ball to the head .. they really do hear you. You really are making a difference. Your not 1/2 bad at this mom thing. *smile*

So I will make sure I am at that door in the a.m, dressed from head to toe, and sending him off.

Cookin' with Special Guest Star Catcher Dude

CD has never show an interest to the daily life survival. (Cooking & Laundry) so when he signed up for his class courses this trimester I was in shock when I found he signed up for F.A.C.S. (Family and Consumer Science) or Home Ec in my days. But hey whatever floats your boat, good for you.

Anywho.how.and way.

He decided Sunday he was going to bake. But mom was tired. Mom wanted to stay in the bed she lay in. Waa. waa. Mom! Get up. Stop pissin and moaning. So sent him in the pantry to see what he could find in a box.

CD: Yellow Cake? Nah!
CD: Angel Food Cake? Nah!
CD: Brownies? Nah!
CD: White Cake? Nah!

Me: Will you stop talking to yourself and pick already!!
CD: Corn Bread? Nah!
CD: Can we go to store? .. Never mind! Dad is gone. Oh...wait...here is some Cinnamon Swirl Bread. Can I make this?
Me: That is fine. Do you want me to come in there and help?
CD: No. Just stay in there and if I need help I will ask.
Me: Okay. I will pop in my favorite one of my favorite holiday movies and lay on the couch.
CD: Fine with me.

I start the movie. I am watching.

CD: Mom where is the bowls?
*pause movie*
Me:
Above the sink.
*resume*
CD: mommm!?! where is the measuring cups?
*pause movie*
Me: Above the dishwasher.
*resume*
CD: mom, where is the bread pan?
*pause movie* Get off the couch this time.
Me: Under there. (pointing) Why is it you put the dishes away ALLLL the time, but you don't seem to know where anything is?
CD: I dunno. Guess I wasn't thinking and was easier just to ask.
*rolling my eyes*

I ended up just staying in there and supervising the whole process. He did really good actually and the bread (that by the way he will not eat as he doesn't like cinnamon) turned out really good. He was extremely nervous about the whole hot oven, getting it out thing, but he managed to do it very well. In fact he managed to take his very own pizza out of the oven last night. *yeah! Catcher Dude!!* He wants to attempt baking/cooking something from scratch here in a couple weeks. Go for it babe!!

Mommy moments .. they really never do end. :p

Now maybe she (his F.A.C.S) will turn him on to the washing machine. Ha ha!!

Behind.

Alrightly no fair. *pouting* It is only 10 am on Monday and I feel like I am already 20 steps behind. That is alright. I will catch up.

* Shopping for School (check)
* Make yet another damn doctor appointment (check) Friday @ 8:30 am
* Do Saturday Suggestion from Princess over at Real Life Fairy Tales ~ Will complete this evening sometime.(check.late.but.check)
* Laundry for those needed emergency stat items ~ After afternoon DH run
* Catcher Dude Errands ~ Later on if he is lucky (check)
* 4 more squares on this afghan for CD for Christmas ~ While TV surfing this evening (check)

So for now since I am off to work up at school, then home to rush the afternoon away. I seriously have NO CLUE where the hours of 12:50-3:15 go. *bleep* *blink* GONE!

Monday .. Monday

So here we are again. You great me at the first of every week. No matter how much I curse you, tell you to go away, there you are .. MONDAY. The beginning of another week. In another month. In another year. You just keep rolling in. In my lifetime already you have shown up 1779 times. You certainly must like your day. But then again, why would you not? It is in fact .. your day. I am sure you would be missed if you didn't show up.

Anyway enough of that. Another school/work week is here and time to get moving. I have a couple errands this morning before heading up to school. I also have to make a couple calls, make more *ugh* appointments. I am so sick and tired of making appointments, after appointments. They better get their ducks in a row and figure something out. Because I am tired of bouncing from Dr. to Dr. plus I am sick and tired of feeling horrible and can hardly manage to take my head off my pillow much less out of my bed. Yep! I spend most of my wonderful weekends in bed. If it wasn't for my DH work schedule I wouldn't get out during the week either. *sigh*

So off we go. Shower, dress, and out the door. But really by the time I do first item I will hardly be able to move I will be so wiped. We have a fundraiser this Saturday for baseball and I do not know how I will even manage going. DH may have to cover for both of us. Anyway ..

Happy Monday!

Happy Veterans Day

Today is such an important day to so many different people. These days it's very unlikely that your life is not personally touched first hand by a Soldier, Airman, Marine, Seaman, or Guardsman. It's quite appropriate that this holiday falls so close to Thanksgiving. I know there are many veterans in my life that I'm extremely thankful for.

Today is for you! Happy Veterans Day!!!
THANK YOU!!

Today Catcher Dudes school is having a breakfast for Veterans and then an assembly. I think it is nice they are honoring this day & the Veterans in those children's lives. DH was going to attend, but his sleep is more important to him I guess. It just seems like yesterday he was in the US Air Force, and we took off to the great unknown. Though he only served a short time. It certainly made an impact. DH got out of the service in 1995. 4 months before our first child was born.

Over at Amid Lifes Crises she has a post about Veteran's Day that is really an eye opener. Which I totally agree with.

Have a good one!

Challenge ~ My Happiness Lesson

The princess over at Real Life Fairy Tales gave a challenge. I thought I would give it a whirl. Might even help my funk I found myself in lately.

The Challenge:
You assignment is to list the following:
a) 5 Things I'm Grateful I'm NOT...
b) 5 Things I'm Thankful I Am...
c) 5 Things I Will Do To Make Someone Else Happy This Week...
d) 5 Things I Will Do To Make ME Happy This Week!!

5 Things I'm Grateful I'm NOT...

  1. I am grateful I'm not more sick than I am
  2. I am grateful I'm not homeless
  3. I am grateful I'm not living alone
  4. I am grateful I'm not hungry
  5. I am grateful I'm not uninsured

5 Things I'm Thankful I Am...

  1. I am Thankful I am a mommy
  2. I am Thankful I am able to be a SAHM
  3. I am Thankful I am loved
  4. I am Thankful I am cared for
  5. I am Thankful I am here for at least one more day

5 Things I Will Do To Make Someone Else Happy This Week...

  1. I will drive catcher dude to all his activities without complaining
  2. I will have food prepared for DH when he gets home from work at 1 am for him to eat
  3. I will call my sister
  4. I will take my niece off my mother's hands one evening
  5. I will not complain to any staff members at DS school

5 Things I Will Do To Make ME Happy This Week!!

  2. Watch all my backed up shows on Tivo
  3. Spend some quiet time with DS
  4. Shop for me
  5. Not dwell on all the medical conditions looming over my head

Well that was fun! Though I can not say I really am outta my funk! But least I have a better outlook on things for the moment.

G'Nite & Happy Saturday .. err .. Sunday. Guess it is Sunday now. Better try to get some sleep then.

Friday, November 7, 2008

Yeah! It's Friday!

I am happy to see Friday arrive. I am not really sure the reason. I want to say because the DH is finally home to be with us. Speaking for myself, have missed him a lot lately. Just not connected. His work hours can suck the big one. But I have just came to realize this is how it is. Though I guess lately.. it has been to much for me. I have been dealing with a lot of issues on the plate lately. I am not use to juggling catcher dude and all his worries, concerns, activities, and such, PLUS me. I am not sure what to do! But I have got to get me taken care of. My mental health and my health have GOT TO GET BETTER!! But it will be baby steps, and lots of different doctors, money, and such. So there is where the problem lays. How can I do all that and take care of CD? I am alone 96 hours out of 168 hours in a week.

[Long Pause]

When I wrote that I was stuned. I could not believe really how much time I spend alone. I shouldn't say alone CD is here. But really even when DH is home. We usually are all never in same room when we are home. Kid usually in his room. Me? In my bedroom watching TV or trying to work on this afghan for kid. But I keep riping it out and starting over. I have no idea why? Just doesn't seem to be the right one, so I try another. *shrug* Then the DH is in the living room watching TV. So be excited? Don't see why.

But at least getting back to Friday theme .. this post is taking a way to serious path and I am to tired to fell all that B.S. It's Friday and I can just do nothing now until Monday when I have to get CD back up for school. I will probably just do that. Stay doped up on meds and stay the hell in bed. *sigh*

Well this post sucks! I was so happy at the start.. but BLAH! I am heading back to bed. Maybe DH will be up before 1pm!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

History Made

Yep! Not just your everyday history. Not the we have a new 4-year president history. But the "first ever in an election" history.

We will see. Let's just pray, and hope all turns out well.

But I have NOT been impressed with the behavior of people. Sad! The things I have heard since Obama was named President Elect. *shaking head* You would think people would be happy and move on. Your candidate won. Be happy. Not spread venom on the streets, in school, on buses. My kid ended up home sick about dumb ass rumors, and nonsense! Maybe they will level out. Let's hope they level out. But enough venom!

I think that is all I will say on this subject!

Good Night!

Monday, November 3, 2008

Well that went out the window.

I so let myself down on the 30 posts in 30 days. I snoozed right through yesterday and missed a posting day. Oh well. I tried, and yet I failed. So what ever!

I started my day with feet landing on floor in full blown moving mode. Got the kid up, fed this morning .. woohoo..score some mommy points for getting food in him. I *HATES* eating of a morning, but I feel it is important so I try to wiggle it on occasionally. Then after he got on bus, I ran around banking, shopping, and up to school. That took all from 7:30 am-1p. Then of course the normal DH run, visit with mom. Though my *ugh* sister was there so I had to put up with her. Not for long though, I skipped on outta there. She just..no!no!no!..i will *NOT* get on the sister rant!!

Kid is staying after school for science club. then we are off to the store and TKD. That should be the evening. Though who am i kidding. There will be a fight, and I will lose, on eating out, so we are still looking at a 9, 930 arrival back home.

Weather is wonderful. Believe in the 70s. Hope it lasts for a tad bit longer. I would like this weather to be this weekend, and I would like DH on roof to do the lights. NO! I will not turn them on. I just hate him having to get up in the cold, winter, wet, weather by end of November. We usually turn them on Friday after Thanksgiving. Then later in month can get out all the other do-dads for the yard later in November. We will see. Maybe.

Kid is working his school day off tomorrow. Bagging up leaves for a neighbor. So kid is all about the $green$ and good for him. Work. Pay your own baseball tuition. lol. He got a visa gift card in mail today. So more $green$ for him.

Well I better get all the stuff together to get outta this house once again.

November starts

Then though I am still not feeling all that well, guess I am going to have to see another dr. [why do i feel this is the start of old age setting in .. and just the START of seeing DRs on a regular bases again?] I rocked getting things done around here today. That honey dew list I had a couple weekends ago:

  • Hang Molina picture that CD got for Christmas 2007.
  • Post the NO TRESPASSING signs we got for the fences
  • Move hutch from basement
  • Work on putting the basement back together from flooding in April/May
  • Hang bikes up in garage

Plus a few extras:

  • Replace bug stripping on backdoor
  • Clean out gutters [front & back]
  • Cut Grass [hopefully last time this year

Was completed today by my rockin' DH & DS. While I rocked out some chores of my own in the house:

  • I got all the beds striped, washed, rotated, and remade.
  • I found my bedroom, floor and all.
  • Knocked out some of the mounds of laundry
  • Drained, took apart and cleaned real well that nasty, dang Fry Daddy.

I will say I found an awesome thing to clean that oily mess. I don't know what made me grab that Cascade and dump that and hot..hot.. water in the sink, but I did. Then I let all the pieces soak while I was waiting for the dishwasher to finish up the load so I could put all the pieces in there. But that came cleaner than it has all the times I have cleaned, scrubbed and elbow greased that darn thing. It is soaking once more for the evening and I will run though washer in morning. Yah!me!

Now I am sitting here after a nice long bath with my wine. I am off to bed soon. The kid and DH left here around 6:30 for dinner and still have not returned. Hmmm.. Oh well they can always use some kid and dad time. I am off to find something to watch off the DVR and hopefully sleep will come soon. I am sure I was not supose to mix wine and meds, ooops!

Don't for get ..

It's time once again for time to fall back. Daylight savings time will end Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 AM. Don't forget to set back the clocks Saturday night when you go to bed.

Everyone also needs to remember to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Doing so could save your life or the life of someone you love. Remind your family and friends.

If you notice that new lil gadget over there to the right. At the top.
I decided to that the plunge and do the 30 posts in 30 days. What a neat way to start off the month. Joining the National Blog Posting Month-30 posts in 30 days.

I hope I can do it because I'm hoping for more discipline for writing. Though these are our slower months around here with activities and to-do things. So we will see.

Post Halloween

Just a quick post.

Niece #1 and Catcherdude had a blast at the lil halloween party thrown at his TKD. They played games. Ate. Had prizes. Played more games. Got grab bags. Left. Prefect amount of time. Didn't have to do all the T or T crap. Nice!

I took my camera..but no pictures. I do have one of neice before we left.

Photobucket

So that is the sum of this Halloween. I am glad it is over! Now on to Thanksgiving. As anymore what does Halloween mean to me? The start of the holiday season!!

Hallo-weenie Day!

Photobucket

I can not believe it is the last day of October. Next thing we know it will be Thanksgiving, Christmas, 2009! We really do not get kids around here. Well we do, I take that back. Older children. Too old and no costumes. So the light is out here. Nuff! I am opting instead of taking niece #1 and Catcher dude to a party being held at his TKD. That should be good anuff. Then I do not have to worry and all the hassle and crap related to this dumb..get on my nerves..p.i.t.a wonderful holiday.

Today kid has another day off. Well he has a 1/2 day. Waste of time going. Classes are finished. Grades due yesterday. New class schedule for Monday, so waste of time day. They did actually plan the rewards party for that dumb ass, p.i.t.a, junk for sale, didn't make squat for the school great school fundraiser they held last month. But the students parents, were sucked in required to sell 12 items to go to this "party". I was more than willing to just skip it, and let Catcher Dude stay home for the waste of the day 1/2.

Still not moving much, medicine is working. Just slower than I would like. I have tons to do. But no pick and go to do it. Oh well. It will get done. soon.

Photobucket Pictures from last Halloween when he volunteered at a neighborhood haunted house. Which as I remember he got deathly ill that evening from being in the cold and rain and couldn't go to school next day as he was running a 102 temp.

~*~* Happy Halloween! Keep the kiddos safe tonight!! ~*~*

Favorite Day...

That's right. No School. Which why am I so excited? Doesn't seem like they have went all that much this month. Out of a possible 23 days, they attended 18. So it should be the norm by now. But none the less I had the boy home today and we actually got along and went out in public..shh..together. But I am sure that was because mom had all the credit cards cash. In a matter of 24 hours, I dropped little over $200 on this child on clothes & shoes. I once again am haunted reminded about a conversation I had over a year ago. [about the conversation] So first it was shoes.

Now clothes. *thud* He has fallen into that category. What category? The child that has to have the certain types, the certain brand, the certain size, the certain color. *thud*

I decided to put my big girl pants on and deal .. deal by not saying one word. I totally left the decisions up to him. I once added a thought and left it at that. It took 161 months for him to start caring about what he wore. So I guess I did pretty good getting away with it as long as I did.

But anyway we had a fun day. Added to his wardrobe for the fall/winter. Few laughs. Some eats. Yeah! All good.

Now what to do Friday?.. ah yes, home again. Do they ever go to school? Home Friday. Go to school Monday, new trimester starts so new classes, and off Tuesday for election.

home.school.home.school.

Geez. Give me time to miss um! [totally a joke, as I always like him home]

Someone close the refrigerator door!!

Oh it is!!.. that is the temperature outside. Brrrr.. yeah so that is totally helping my sinus'. I am thinking we are going to have to break down and heat this house. The thermostat reads 61 in here. Outside temp 30. Catcherdude is going to freeze them balls legs off today after school. They are having their annual Halloween Classic 1.5 mile Fall Run. I was going to go up and watch, maybe, depending on how I feel later.

I am though off to the doctors today. I am one of those get a list of worries, concerns, ailments, things worth paying the dump butted nice co-pay for, and then make the appointment. If I can get a flu shot, and still have this cement up my nose, and the insurance will pay for it, I think I will get that as well. Plus all the other items on my list of things to bombard the DR with today.

Other than that I am still on sick leave and not doing much else. All the house will sit and wait. All of kids run me here ... run me there will be passed by. Though I still might go watch the Fall Run.

So hopefully by mid-morning I have a kickin jack hammer some kickin' medicine to bust this open. Well I am sitting here shaking from the cold, so I am going to hot steam shower my head, dress, and get off to doctor land.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so I am home now. This really was not my day [again!] I got stuck sitting on the hwy for way to long as yet ANOTHER accident closed yet ANOTHER hwy down. This is getting absolutely ridiculous!! I left way early in hopes to sneaking in early so I could get possible maybe shouldn't have went anyway get up to CD school to open the cart for lunch. But instead I sat trapped on the hky. Couldn't move. Wasn't moving. Turn the motor off and cleaned the inside of the truck up stuck in traffic kind of trapped. I finally get to the office.. waited, waited, and waited some more. But finally got in to see him. Got my medicine. But oh wait, what is this? No more paper scripts we just fax them straight away from the office. Yeah! Right! The pharmacy never got it.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

SOMEONE GET ME MY SCRIPT!! I am dying here. Finally after starting this fight at 10 a.m. I get my wonderful, glorous meds at 3. So I have them. Taking them. Phone again. Ugh!

Well now Catcher Dude missed his bus to his Halloween Classic 1.5 mile Fall Run. So he is all upset, and cold [whaddatellakiddo] and misses out on all the fun. So he is on hell normal bus home. Apparently to be crabby the rest of the afternoon.

Monday Moan

It is Monday. I still feel like sh*t. DH didn't put Catcher Dudes jeans in dryer like I asked and he said, "okay". Out of tea. Have to take kid to school because said jeans. kid only has 2 pairs of jeans? seriously? I don't want the school week to start. I don't want to be out of bed. I am thinking everyone back to bed. screw it. no clothes to wear sounds like a great reason to go back to bed. but i can't breathe in bed. can't breathe out of bed, but alas not the point. there is the bus. oh screw the day.

Weekend over? Seriously?

Weekends just don't last long enough! Friday was errands by plenty.

  • Ran by catcher dudes school, to pick up a check, which wasn't there. Of Course!!
  • Then we went to Borders to pick up the next book in the series for CD. New Moon
  • Then to Bed & Bath for CD bought nothing.
  • Had mall lunch .. blah!
  • Shopping at American Eagle for CD. Actually got him some Christmas Gifts.
  • Shopping at Sports Authority for CD. Had to get new cup and catcher's glove. I was saving the glove for Christmas, but dad convinced me he had to have now to break in before season starts.

Well so after running around like a mad woman on Friday with dh. We had dinner with my mother and after that I decided I seriously needed a drink. Came home to find ice box downstairs empty so I sent DH back out for me a bottle of wine. yeah me!! I drank myself to a sound snooze. slept great.

Only to awaken Saturday morning with this horrible sinus thing. After that all plans of nothing really turned to nothing!! Even the honey dew list from post before.. sat. I have laid in bed all weekend. I still feel like crappy-poo. I did rasie out of my bed to make chicken soup. But that was it.

I am not sure I can cope with the ahead week. Man!?! Do I dislike being ill. But I am glad it came about during weekend. weekend with not a thing to do. weekend. FW had a sinus thing going on a lil bit ago and was suggusted drinking lemonade with vodka. I wonder if she ever tried it, and if it worked? hmmm ...

So that was my weekend. zero. zip. nadda.

T.G.I.F.

So finally Friday is here. We have another quiet weekend here. I am so thankful for that. I am just worn out. Yesterday I came home and napped from about 2:30-4, not on purpose mind you. Just fell asleep. Then I was in bed and sleeping sorta soundly at 9. I so needed that. But when the alarm went off at 6, UGH! I still was not ready to let sleep go. My plans were to get in DS bed and sleep a tad bit more this a.m. but I just couldn't bring myself to do that.

So as far as the weekend goes I think it will just be a lounge around the house weekend. The DH and I was going to have lunch this afternoon with a fellow worker bee, but that fell through. I do have some honey dew things that we could work on.
  • Hang Molina picture that CD got for Christmas 2007.
  • Post the NO TRESPASSING signs we got for the fences
  • Move hutch from basement
  • Work on putting the basement back together from flooding in April/May
  • Hang bikes up in garage

So there are some lacking items around here. Though as I was sitting here I am thinking we should head out and do a little Christmas shopping. (yes you read that correct) See DH and I only get so much time together to do anything. So have to make it count. We only have 5-6 Fridays alone until Christmas hits. So never to soon to start. Besides not getting a lot this season. Catcherdude got the hunk of his money allotment in September. But seeing he is 13 not 6 he gets it. Not a biggie! So we may head out and do that today. Guess we could have lunch together, alone, just him and I... what am I thinking? lol.

Happy Friday!!

Dream a lil dream with me.

So I was reading Farmer*swife's post from Glass half Empty about her dream and that got me thinkin', yeah i do that sometimes, yeah it hurts, but ya gotta expand that mind sometimes, about a conversation the family had over the weekend.

We were watching Nightmare on Elm Street and got talkin about dreams. I am not sure who mentioned it first, but anyway, some where along the line it came out neither of them dream every night. Where I dream every night. I don't always remember them. But I do in fact dream every night. I sometimes will look forward in getting to sleep to dream. Like a movie night every night.

I first I thought they might just not remember. But they were cursing me out, swearing they hardly ever dream. So I guess that is a strange thing. I always thought everyone dreamed every night. So I donno.

Maybe that is why I am so gosh darn tired! My dreams are wearing me out!

So if you come across this post, I would like to hear from you.

Do you dream every night?

Gonna Be a Bear

Sounds perfect to me!!

Man! We have been uber busy. I tell ya. Fall is here .. or so it is supposed to be .. and i do not feel like we still have slowed down.

Fall Baseball is over. yeah! though i know it disappoints catcher dude. but january is just a minute away, i swear cd .. i swear. so you would think it would be slower. nope. drop off one item, off to another. oh well they are only small, want momma, and home for so long, then it is off to the big mean ol' world, and an empty house for the momma.

we are not doing halloween this year. bah!hum!bug! i did not dig out the decorations. i did not costume hunt. i did not candy shop. done! 13 is way past time for that sh!t. never liked going in all his years, not start'n now when i think way past that time. besides to much baggage with that. cd is going to a halloween fall festival that night at his tkd place.

well i could blabber, ramble, talk of much more sh!t interesting facts. but once again, short on time and i must close.

happy wednesday tuesday!!

Sex With A Cowboy ..

Funny of the day ....

Prior to her trip to Texas , Buffy (a New Yorker),
confided to her co-workers she had three goals for her trip to the Lone Star State ...

1. She wanted to taste some real Texas Bar-B-Que.

2. She wanted to take in a bona fide rodeo.

And...

3. She wanted to have sex with a real cowboy.

Upon returning, the girls were curious as to how she fared.

'Let me tell you, they have a tree down there called a Mesquite and when they slow cook that brisket over that Mesquite , it's ooooh so good. The taste is unbelievable!'

'And I went to a real rodeo. Talk about athletes. those guys wrestle full grown bulls! They ride horses at a full gallop, then jump off the horses and grab the bull by the horns and throw them to the ground! It is just incredible!'

They then asked, 'Well tell us, did you have sex with a real cowboy?'

'Are you kidding? When I saw the outline of the condom they carry in the back pocket of their jeans, I changed my mind!'

Happy Saturday

Well today was a veggie type of day. Boy did I certainly need it. I slept in until about 8:30. Woo Hoo. Then Catcherdude went to TKD @ 10. Then what did i/we do.

NADDA!!

Well kid and DH went to park and did whateva cause I didn't ask. But I laid (yes laid) in my bed and watched all sorts of things I Tivo'd all week.

Boy was this a fun, relaxing day.

I finally did give in and made dinner, and I vaccumed my room, rotated the bed, and changed the bedding. But that was the end of my chore list. :P

HAPPY SATURDAY!! Hope everyone elses was as chilled as mine.

I also should add today is momma's birthday. Catcherdude called her and wished her good birthday. I should have. Oopps! Bad daughter!!

Friday .. Friday ..

It is finally upon us. I always get so excited about Fridays, and I have no idea why. It is not like we get to sleep in on the weekends. Not like anything changes. Still run .. run .. dash in and out. 2 days of the same. Baseball, TKD, Bowling. So what changes. What makes Fridays so gosh darn exciting?

i dunno.

But alas Friday is here. Catcher Dude has a 1/2 day. We are going to the Punkin patch. We do have a baseball game tonight. We do have to drive and pick up the dad dude. Now that is a new development in the baseball hall of fame house. Dad dude having some OT tonight but his ride is leaving at 8, dad leaving at 10.

Hockey has offically started from what I hear. Red Sox are still rock' the house. It is amazing how much they are in the playoffs & World Series anymore. Good for them. Well I am off to start the day.
