Friday is Here. FINALLY!!

(art work by Catcher Dude)
Snippy the turtle sits proudly in my room on a shelf.

Alrighty Catcher Dude thanks for High Jacking moms blog. [post] *smile* Now we resume our regularly scheduled mommy rambles. lol. So today is Friday. It seems like this week it took forever for it to arrive. We all know that is Farmer*s Wife favorite day. But it sits at the top of my favorite days list myself. Dad Dude starts his weekend at 12:30 AM every Friday. Well, unless working OT, but how often will he do that? Not much as he is already gone so much during the week he is not about to miss any CD stuff Friday - Sun. Nope!! Soon Catcher Dude will be home and he has his 2 day weekend.

Not that we ever really get to see the weekends. Ever notice how those are the fastest 2 days in the 7 day week? Saturday and Sunday fly by faster than any other two days put together. Never really see them. You know they arrived. Says so right there on the calendar. The boys are here. But where did they go? Why must they hurry along? Must have something to do with the both start with "s". LOL. Couldn't possible be those are the 2 days we try to pack a whole week into? Nah!

So what is on tap at our Fields house this weekend:

Friday
Catcher Dude school.
Dad Dude errands of this and that sorts.
Me? Straighten house, laundry, dishes, and sorts. Dang those Gremlins!!
Baseball Practice.
Uniform sizing and purchasing.

Saturday
Baseball Registration (Team #2)
Batting Cages
High School Parent Meeting
Baseball Clinic

Sunday
Bowling Canceled due to next item.
Drop Dad dude and Catcher Dude off to their ride
Dad Dude and Catcher Dude driving 2 hours to go see WWE *rolling eyes*

Actually this is a quiet weekend. So I might not see that much of Saturday, but Sunday .. allllllll mine! I am free. Free. Free as a bird.

So that is about it around here. I notices a pattern lately and I really do not blog on weekends anymore. So if I don't get back before Monday,

'Happy Friday, Have a good weekend, ya'll'

Pictures from the Bored Baseball Mom

Alright. So I complain a lot some about being way to busy. But I don't like it anymore when life comes to a complete stop!!

So here is some this n that's from the last couple days.

(photo of backyard yesterday)

(photo today. Sun out today)

(photo of Catcherdude shoveling yesterday. He did clear it all out y/day)

(today. Back at it again!!)

(Front today)

(pouting, because I will not drive him to the cages. LOL)

I am sure they will be back at school tomorrow. So a 3 day week isn't that bad. Especially for Catcher Dude as he only had a 3.5 day week last week, and a 3 day week this week. LOL. I can not believe it is almost February. January flew by!!

Snow Day Deux

Here we are again. At this rate we will be getting out of school, just in time to start school. LOL!! There is more snow out there. It is not as cold as it has been. I believe we are holding at 17F. Windchill below. They are saying we had between 6-8 inches, depending where you reside. But now the snow is done. So the kiddos will be back tomorrow.

Now how long will we be down here at home? We are suppose to go to TKD tonight, and testing is tomorrow. I am not sure how this will all play out. Currently I am trying to get Catcher Dude to move!! He apparently stayed up last night and was still up when dad came home. UT-Oh! This is not good. His sleep pattern gets so wacko. If he doesn't get up soon he will not sleep tonight, and of course not want to get up for school tomorrow.

Continue this later ....

Snow Day

It was nice to know before we went to bed that no alarms will have to be set. No schedules to keep. Just a lazy day. I really figured that the snow would not come. When all the hype is around weather coming, it usually doesn't, or doesn't in the capacity they say. Seems like we did get the 3-4 inches they were calling for. Now late this morning freezing rain on top of that, changing to more snow later in the afternoon - through the night. So they might not have school again tomorrow. The only issue I have with that is now we will be on borrowed time and will have to go to school into June. Nah! By then it is a PITA. Baseball in full swing and such. I would rather now just get it done and over with.

PLUS! The major issue around here with CD not having school, he wants out of here. He wants to either go to the batting cages, or the practice facility. Where I am thinking, hmmm .. school is closed and you want me to drive on that mess? Hmmm .. I dunno. But he goes on and on .. and on and on. Drives me crazy!! I am wondering if I even want to risk driving :35 minutes to practice tonight. I am not certain about the weather. With more coming and that such a far distance from us. Guess we will see.

So when all else has failed and mom will not get up and move.

"FINE!" Comes out his mouth and "I will just go see if I can shovel some driveways to help fund baseball this summer!!"

I said not a word! Man where went the days of Snow Days where we make coco and watch movies, make cookies, snuggle in bed and waste a day away? *sighs*

Teens .. that is what happened!!

Hope all the other moms of snow day kids are enjoying their day.

"Not Me!" Monday

It is "Not Me!" Monday and I am following MckMama's lead and posting the things I DID NOT DO this week.

Actually either I have blocked out most of last week, or I had a good week. I really have not much to share.

I did not lose it and tell catcher dude I will not be supporting his horrible habit from here on out. That his baseball days are finished. I would not do that. Are you kidding me?

School certainly DID NOT give us a heads up about important testing THE DAY OF. No! They would not do that. They certainly are better organized than that. So I certainly DID NOT tell the 8th grade Principal that his communication skills sucked lacked that of a professional. That I certainly would NOT be calling the district to let them know what a great horrible job not only his floor but all 3 grade level floors were doing.

Friday during my time up at the middle school, I did not once feel like slapping the shit stuffings out of the entire 8th grade class. No. No Me! I am not sure what barn most of these children crawled out of Friday, but they had better crawled back in this weekend and different, more well behaved children came back out. Some peoples children! I swear!

I once again did not hide the fact I once again ate Catcher Dudes food. I mean come on? Why leave it out like that? Why tempt the gods? Come on? I am a good mommy and certainly would not eat his food.

Weekend closing up

Well yet another weekend comes to a close. As usual it was a busy one. Friday I went up to school. All was good until 8th grade lunch and then I wanted to strangle them!! UGH! They thought that lines, order, and keeping hands to thy self was above them. So I closed up shop. I can not handle unruly children. Just can not deal. They were pushing, shoving, and grabbing. Forget it! Not worth it. Two shit heads darling brats kids thought grabbing the money would be fuckin funny as all get out. So not letting that set the mood for the rest of the day I shook it off. DH finally got around to getting rid of the leaves again! Man I do not know what the deal is this year and still in January having piles of leaves still.
WAIT, well I DO! The people next door to us up and moved out and do not come and care and up keep their property! So their leaves are blowing over here. We can not get rid of the leaves. Just as you clean up your yard, more of theirs comes knocking! UGH!!

Friday nights are now consumed with baseball workouts & practice. So that was our Friday evening. 45 minute drive there. 2 Hour practice. 45 minute drive home. After practice this week we went and had pizza, but I do not care for this smokey place so we will not make a practice of that. But FIL works there and DH thought it would be nice to stop in for a visit since we were in the neighbourhood.

Saturday we went for a drive. Went to see Eagles. It was a fun trip. But cold, cold, cold. We found the river was frozen. So Catcher dude got to walk on the water. (Seemed fitting as he thinks he's god and all ..LOL) We stopped and ate at a nice lil place. They had these fish tanks at all the tables. It was fun to watch them while waiting on the food. I had the catfish and it was way more than I could finish. The boys had chicken. Then we loaded back up and headed back home. It was really cold, and proably would have been a better trip to take in the spring when a tad bit warmer. It was nice spending time with the family, but the boys were bored most of the trip. But tough for them! They owe me. LOL!!
(Eagle Catcher Dude snapped this picture)

(Eagle floating down river on ice chunk)

Today was of course just like any other Sunday. Started with DH leaving early for bowling league, and catcher Dude tagging along. Then home for a quick change for CD, as today his private catching lessons start. 45 minute drive there. 1 hour lesson. 45 minute drive back. Yah! This was my first and last time going. I will stay home and leave that trip to DH from now on.

Now it is time to start wrapping up the weekend and getting everyone ready for the school/work week. sigh ... weekends are not long enough!!

Thursday already?

This week has flown by. But I guess when there is No School on Monday, you have to go retrieve son from school on Tuesday and take them to DR, to not return to school until Thursday. Yeah, your week will tend to fly by.

(artwork by catcher dude) Last week I mentioned sons Art work in this post and Gary suggested I post some. So today is the first picture I am sharing.

Rest of this week probably will be quiet. (You realize me just saying that probably caused all H-E-double hockey sticks to break out? LOL) They are testing the rest of this week at school, and on Monday and Tuesday of next. So nice of them to tell the parents this. I got an email at 8:40 this morning. Ugh! Communication bites! this year! at our middle school. I am not sure why? Had no problems last year. Since CD is not feeling well he will be home bond a couple more days. We were also told at the last minute about changes that are occurring at the high school for next. Now you would think this would be a very important fact for those coming in next year. So why they didn't think we needed to know is beyond me.

I should be getting dressed and heading out. But I am really not in the mood to deal with school today. I really am annoyed. So I am just skip the volunteer thing today. Though who suffers more in this? So I am not sure. I might go. But that would require stop typing and getting dressed and walking out the door in 15 minutes. So hmmm .. I am not sure. Probably not!

Well this daily update is just not producing anything of interest. Guess I (for a change) have nothing to say.

Shop and Support

I visit and read regularly many blogs. But I wanted to highlight two wonderful fellow bloggers.

First we have the wonderful pottery items of Gary Rith his blog. Not only is his blog funny, warm, and insightful. His pottery is great. I have not ever seen a piece he has made that is not over the top and awesome. You can tell really tell he loves what he does. Who would not want to own a piece of Gary's Pottery? To be handed down from generation to generation.

Pictured here is his heart collection. Please visit Garys blog or store
.

Another wonderful blog mom, Plath, recently opened up her All natural soaps and knits store. I found this description on her store site:

"All of Clean Hippie Soap's products are made from the finest vegetable oils (no lard or animal tallow), essential oils and natural colorants. No artificial fragrances, colors or preservatives are used, and they are each cut by hand, making each bar unique. Every hand cut bar is between 3.5 and 5 oz. With the exception of Oats & Honey, all soaps are 100% vegan. All are gentle on the skin and safe for everyone in the family. No preservatives, parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) are ever used."

Besides her soaps she also has her wonderful hand knit items. I did read she also will do custom knits. She is very talented. I have seen many items she has knitted and everyone is as great as the first. Please check out her shop. It is a wonderful place to visit.

So those are my brags of the day!! Both are wonderful places and would certainly love for you to stop by.

"Not Me!" Monday

It is "Not Me!" Monday and I am following MckMama's lead and posting the things I SO DID NOT DO this week.

I am a little late today. Been a busy day with no school. I am going to have to start making a draft post during the week so I can remember what I SO DID NOT DO. I will do better next week. :)

I did not secretly jump up and down when CDD told me his mother called yet again and he would not be returning her call. No, I would not do that. I SO DO NOT still hold a grudge from the first years of our marriage about her. Nope. Not me.

When the bully came walking past me up at the middle school I DID NOT push the cart in his walk way and then act liked I didn't see him coming. Oops! Sorry!

I also did not serve those peanut butter crackers and snack bars on Friday, that have been been on the news to avoid as there is a risk of salmonella contamination. Oh no! We certainly DO NOT have those on the middle school snack cart.

Then when the kid wanted Tacos from a local chain here, they certainly DID NOT mess the order up for the 200,000 time. How hard is it to minus the lettuce? So I absolutely DID NOT get on the phone and yell at them as I was already on the hwy to pick up a sick husband and then to baseball, and had no time to turn around.

Then I DID NOT stop at a different store of same chain claiming they were the ones that messed up getting 6 corrected tacos from them. No! I would not do that. Because Catcher Dude had a baseball clinic and had to eat before hand as he had not eaten all day.

But then after making it back to our city and after son's baseball clinic, I DID NOT go back to the original store getting them to replace the 6 tacos. No! Not me. I did not walk away with 20 tacos for the price of 8. Nope I would not do that. Because this chain always gets orders correct, and I have not had my final straw breaking point with them. Nope! Not me!!

Also I did not call Catcherdude sick into school so he will not have to watch all that BS Inauguration Day crap on TV while at school. I certainly told him it was important to go to school, and not cut classes.

Happy Happy Saturday.

I set my foot down today and made these males get their butts up outta those nice warm beds of theirs!! I let them sleep in, I was nice! It was after 11 when I went in bang'in on their doors. I realized they were out painting the town 'til after mid-night.

DH went and bowled in a 9 pin no tap. He took second place. Good, nice, yeah watever!! Get up and MOVE!!

So anyway, I pulled them out of bed at 11 so we could all get to the basement. It was time. Time for me to get down there after 3 weeks of not being able.

Time to get ALL the laundry sorted. Time to get the basement itself back in some order.

So I waddled down and spent my time sending & barking out orders. Now there are 2 loads completed. 8 more to go. DAMN! Did FW's Gremlins get set loose over here? The one side of the basement cleared out. The TV setup and installed with the new DTV box attached.

Because as the tickers and Commercials say every 20 seconds ... "On February 17, 2009, all TV stations will stop broadcasting analog signals." Okay.. okay already!!

The treadmill unburied under piles and piles of stuff. Catcher Dudes weights and bench set up. There is a pile for trash. There is a pile for free-cycle. There is a pile I am hoping to sell.

Ah, Yes!! It was a productive day.

Now the boys are showered and out the door for Catcher Dudes Baseball Clinic. Don't ask me why CD had to take a shower before going. He will NEED it more AFTER. lol. Now I am going to finish up the loads that are in the washer and dryer now and then I am off for yet again another hot bath, I so wish we had a super cool sunk in tub with jets and such, and then snuggling in my bed and watching a movie. Not sure if I will watch one of the ones I Tivo'ed off HBO free preview weekend, or one of the new DVD's DH bought me last night. He always gets great deals.

He bought:

Baby Mama - Tina Fey & Amy Poehler
Untraceable - Diane Lane
21 - Kevin Spacey
Deck the Halls - Danny DeVito & Matthew Broderick
The Longest Yard - Adam Sandler
Clerks

Okay only a couple of those were really bought with me and only me in mind. Baby Mama, Untraceable, and Deck the Halls. LOL.

So that be Saturday.

So Cold It Could Kill .. Temperatures lowest in a decade

So the weather man says.

QUOTE: It's too cold for school! Temperatures and wind chill factors in will be so low for the next 48 hours, there will be real danger for anyone spending any significant time outside, including children waiting on buses or walking to school. Several districts are calling off class.

"This is the first time we've made a cancellation based on the wind chill factor. But we don't want our children to be out in this kind of weather. It's just not good for the little ones in particular," he says.

Wind Chill Advisory for the entire viewing area this morning...

Today: Mostly sunny and very cold. Highs from 5 above north to 12 southwest.

Tonight: Mostly clear and bitterly cold. Lows around zero to 5 below.

Current Conditions
Sunny
1°F/-17°C
Feels Like: -13°F/-25°C
Wind: 8mph
Humidity: 60%
END QUOTE

Catcher Dudes school is in today. There were very few districts that actually did cancel school. I finally put my MEAN MOMMY foot down this morning and told catcher dude he had to wear his winter coat. PERIOD! That bus could break down before it gets to school. It wasn't to much of s struggle. So that was good.

CD is lucky though, he can just stand at the door and watch for bus and when it gets to our house walk out. The bus stop is our drive way. :)

I feel for those who are suffer worse temps. I am not looking forward to leaving this house today. So I just might not do it!

10 on Tuesday - "A"

I seen this neat idea on Keepsakes blog and thought I would play along. So if nothing else tickles my fancy on a Tuesday, in alphabetical order, I will be listing 10 things in no particular order that I am ever so thankful for.

1. Anniversary. We made it to our 16th one.
2. Address. I have a home to call my own, when so many around us do not.
3. Age. That I have been blessed to get to.
4. Alarm. To be able to hear that go off again everyday and help me keep us on task.
5. Ann. The person who blessed me with my middle name.
6. Automobile. I  my truck. My very first brand-spankin-new one.
7. Autumn. My favorite season.
8. Art. The art work my son brings home that I can treasure.
9. Apples. I  yummy Fuji apples
10. Account. Our bank account, that holds a few nickle & dimes.

Okay so this was harder than I thought it would be. But fun.

Just another day, glad to be here

Well 16 years. We've made it to 16 years together. Well we really have been together 18 years. I can not believe it.

Now I would fill in here how much it sucks he is working tonight, we didn't do anything over the weekend. The day is coming and going and that is it. How horrible of a day. But I have ran into 2 past class mates, both men, in the last month. One is in the middle of a divorce of 10 year marriage. The other on his 3rd marriage in 17 years. Oy! The one guy was tell me how 2 others we knew had also divorced. Good Grief Charlie Brown. So I suppose it isn't all that bad. Actually DH brought up a fine point.

"Babe, Didn't you date all of those guys?"

Me thinking ... "Yeah, I guess I did."

"Hmm .. guess I was the lucky one"

That made my day. Guess they are the losers and even though I am once again without an anniversary date, I still have the date ticking away to another year. Guess there is always next year. Though I was thinking if we had time we might sneak away this weekend. If that is I am feeling up to being out, and baseball doesn't already have the calendar booked.

I really would like to go to my favorite restaurant. We have not been in a couple years and don't think my husband will think of it. Though I will be nice he did get up at 7:30 this morning after getting to bed after 2 a.m from work to take me to eat. But eating pancakes while trying to hold back the urge to throw up, due to the smell of smoke and coffee, doesn't scream romantic in my book. lol.

We will have to see.

Also today is Dakota's 9Th Birthday. I tried to get a decent picture of him today, but he was not having it. So this one will have to do. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAKOTA!!

"Not Me! Monday"

Since its boring around here, nothing new, nothing exciting, I thought I would try something new. I have been stalking reading My Memory Keepsakes blog she hosted a "Not Me! Monday" last week, which she got from MckMama's blog. I thought what a cute idea when I have nothng around here going on to ramble on about.

So on with "Not Me! Monday" A list of all the things that there is no way I did this week. And if anyone says that they saw me doing any of these things, they are totally lying.

  • I did not complain all week about not feeling well.
  • I totally did not wear the same pants 3 days in row because my boys would not go do laundry.
  • I did not cry & have a fit when I arrived in the kitchen to find all the dishes dirty and piled in floor from DH & DS. NOPE! Not me!!
  • I didn't find my teen son watching the neighbor behind us sitting in her family room with no clothes on.
  • I didn't spend yet another week lay in bed flipping from one hip to another.
  • I did not eat catcher dudes last twinkie
  • When asked about eating last twinkie I didn't say, "Nope not me! Must have miss counted".
Well that is all I can think of this moment. That was fun I might be back next week with a new list of things I "didn't" do.

Jeans on the chopping block

UGH!!! SCREAMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Last month I was discussing the issue with kid not being able to find jeans that fit correctly. I swear he still needs a size 12 in kids. But length is out of the question. I liked when we could buy jeans that had the adjustable waistband. But after size 16 that is not an option anymore. Well dumb-dumb my beloved child got in his head he was buying 28x30's over the break with his money.

Well apparently school was not happy with his jean choice over the break. They sent a note home about the fact he could not wear those jeans again. [which I did not get the note until almost 11pm last night!!] I KNEW IT!! I knew this would be their answer. I measured him he actually needs a 26x31 to be a great fit. Umm I have not seen that size. If one can find a waist 26 they are only 28 in length. He bought a belt, and the jeans look like total sh*t with it on. It bunches the jeans all up and puckers in front and BLAH!!

So since he bought all those 28X30's and they have been nixed. As far as I am concerned he can wear shorts or baseball pants. I give up!!

I really I am beginning to see why kids run around with their pants hanging down. They can not find pants that fit. I have never been so flush straighted on a matter of clothes in my life!! Ugh!!

I swear the men in this house have complete issues with clothes fitting. DH can not find them big enough in waist. Kid small enough in waist for long enough length. So as far as I am concerned he can pack up all his clothes he bought and just wear his stupid ball uniforms or his shorts. Neither an issue of sizing.

Were having a heat wave this morning .. 21 degrees. He looked sexy in shorts & jacket getting on bus this morning.

Extended one more day.

BOY! Was I shocked when my phone went off at 5:33 a.m. I thought there was something wrong. Nope! Just a message saying school was cancelled. Huh? I looked outside to see icy wonderland. Wow! Where did that come from?

So not to be the complaining people we will embrace another day at home. I cancelled my appointment. I figure if too icy to go to school, to icy for mom to get out and about. Plus I was not feeling up to being out. So here we are. I am not sure what we will do today. Ice seems to freeze your day. Can't really get out and such.

But I need to find something to get Catcher Dude up and about. He, well actually both of us, was still up at 1:15 when dad dude came in from work. Whoops! I knew it would be a pain to get him back on track. He was up earlier, but when he realized no school. ZZZzzzz town it was.

Put him to work cleaning up the mess of a house. lol. Yeah! That will go over.

So without wishing hard vacation was extended. Yah!

Ramblings of me

So I have a Hodge podge of things tonight. First being that CD mentioned I never posted a picture of the necklace [discussed here] he bought me for Christmas like I said I would. [side note: it does not say I would post a picture in that post, but we are here to please CD don'tcha know ..lol]

So it was hard to photograph this IMO but here it is sort of. Can't really read the words so I will just type them out.

"A Mother holds her child's hand for a short while but their heart forever."

He is such a sweetie when he wants to be. Darn those teenage hormones. Which I am sure now I will be in trouble for the "sweetie" remark.

Oh Well. Since I am already stepping in it tonight, let's discuss the instructors CD employs now. Umm why are they all such buff, built, hotties? How is a mother to concentrate on her kid? Are there no so-so, not off the radar instructor's? I am trying to listen to them talk and all I can concentrate on is the muscles, butts, and.. well you get the picture. His instructors in the past were just instructors. Plain John, run of the mill, kids.

CD started his 8 weeks private lessons tonight. My jaw dropped when this instructor walked out and introduced himself. I was all a flutter tonight trying to listen to what he saying. My mind would wander and I would have to pull it back in. LISTEN! dad dude will quiz you later and all you can think of is those arms, legs, bum. LOL. Oy! This will be a long 8 weeks. Plus the instructor on Saturdays. *sigh*

I think I will have to pick the next one. Skills? Ability? Nah! Has to be a plain John. Older. Beer belly. Yah! That is it. rofl.

Not sure what my odds that in a couple weeks the instructors he hired for Tuesdays & Fridays are going to fit these guide lines? He has had other instructors that managed to stay under the wire. So where are they? lol. This is going to be a long winter until spring gets here and we are through with these instructors if they all look like Monday & Saturday guys.

Enough on that topic. I am sure CD will have a thing or two, three to say about me going on about his instructors. Oh well .. get outta momma's blog!

Onto School. So tomorrow is it! School is back. These days have just flown. I wish it was longer. They are calling for bad weather so we might luck in another day. We will have to see.

I have still not healed enough to get around enough to return to volunteering up at school. The treasurer didn't contact me during the break about sending me a check [and I reminded her twice before school let out on the 18th], so I am not even going to worry about it.

I think I am done!! This year has been one struggle after another. I give! I am the only one the seems to break their butt getting that snack cart open daily. Which I don't mind if the funds are available without harping and hassles.

Also when I was elected Secretary of PTA at the end of last school year I told them I was not sure how long I would be able to attend meetings. Now here we are in January and baseball practices have started. They landed on Tuesdays & Fridays. So PTA meetings being on Tuesdays is a problem now. So I think I will just step down from my positions on the board. Let someone else have the headaches. But we will see. Once school is back in session maybe she will send a check home with Catcher Dude. But I just don't see how I can lift, drive, and such like I was before. Then 8 weeks actually 6 weeks from now I have another surgery and have to recover from that. Hmmm .. I am doubtful this will work out anymore. I will have to chew on this some more and see what I really decide.

Well it is waaayyy past time getting Catcher Dude in shower and bed. Tomorrow is going to be hard enough. His sleep patterns really got messed up this break. So I am sure 6 a.m tomorrow will be a B-E-A-R. As will CD.

Oh and I just remembered I have the second part surgery at the root canal specialist tomorrow. Dang! This was scheduled before all this other stuff and surgery came up!! I really should have cancelled. I didn't notice it on my calendar until just now (well I just now flipped off December onto January!!) BITE! Ugh! Now this should be interesting. UGH! Why was there no reminder call today? Thanks!

I had a hard time picking because I really don't follow a lot of blogs & a couple I would have choosen FW already had picked and I didn't want to double picky. So in no order I have choosen:

1. Amy @ Things
2. Catcher Dude @ Ball in a Book
3. Chatter Bug @ Our family Online
4. Chickadee @ A Familiar Path
5. Dana @ Amid Life's Crises
6. Emily @ My Memory Keepsakes
7. Headless Mom @ The Adventures of the Headless Family
8. Plath @ Plath's Adventures
9. SumnerRain @ Mistakes in Motherhood

I know .. I know I didn't make it to 10. I tried. I really tried. But I have not really branched out to a lot of Blogs and bloggy friends. Like I said had these wonderful people had not already been choosen today I would have also picked: Gary & Fairy Flutter & Farmer*s Wife

So there you have it. I was tickled pink when I saw I had been picked over at Another Online Mom. I am more thrilled to get a chance to honor these great people as well.

Happy Monday ~ even though it is almost over.

Almost the end .. nothing to show

Well I am not sure where the time went. He had 18 days off and we are down to one last day. That is it! We did nadda! I am sure we had BIG plans. We always fill the days up and go where did they all go? Not this time. The days were filled with me laying in bed and catcher dude... well that is a very good question. I can not even really tell you what he did. There wasn't any complaining. Never said anything. But I still feel really bad.

I would love to take him to the movies tomorrow. There is all sorts out he wanted to see. But I just really do not think I could sit through a movie. There is always the never fail eating out. But that feels lame at this point. I will have to think about this and see what I can come up with. I almost bet he will give me his line, "That's okay. We don't have to do anything." But I know he is disappointed.

Dad dude is back to work tomorrow. Seems like even though he didn't have any vacation left he was here a lot over the holidays as well. But everything now is back to the grind. Catcher Dude cleaned, straighten, and re-stocked that backpack of his tonight. He did none of the reading over the holiday as he was supposed to. GREAT!

So that about sums up the 17 days ... wasted! All I can do now is hope for feeling better come his next break.

Hey! The more I really think about it I guess he really didn't sit around doing nothing the whole time. There was the hospital, Christmas Eve @ my moms, Christmas here, went to mall to shop, went to friends house, 2 day baseball camp, TKD here and there, weekend baseball camp, went with dad a few times.

.. so I guess it really wasn't a big wash. Guess it was more he and I didn't get to do, go, hang out. Okay! So I guess I don't feel as bad. LOL. Guess more mom feeling sorry for herself that her 18 day break was a waste. Al'right. So enough ramble!

2009 will get better. I know it!

Day 3

So what a boring life I live right now. I lay around all the time. By the time I get back to the Doctor's this coming week I am going to be in jail for manslaughter. For crying out loud! I am all for lazy days, but heck let me at least be able to enjoy them!!

Though like it or not Monday I have got to drive. Pain or not! I have to take care of the kid and all his activities. Though I was talking to dad dude about hiring him a driver and billing the Dr, the insurance, something. lol.

Sad news alert .. while I was sitting sleeping today dad dude and catcher dude took down all the decorations inside. *weeping* It is all over!! The purrty lights. The magical feeling. All gone. *sigh* Fine! WTF ever! Now if they would just clean up this house. Yeah! Worried about decorations but baskets over flowing with laundry, dishes all over. Hmpth! Do something helpful will ya?

Quiet day around here. After the boys finished taking all the decorations down, they took back yet another heating pad back. This was number 2. Dad Dude bought one yesterday and it sucked at being hot! Please! My house was warmer than that thing. So he returned with another one. TWO THUMBS down! Sunbeam must suck at heating pad products. So after that I was screw it! I will just continue sitting in sitz baths.

Now Dad dude agreed on first one being bad, but he thought second was descent. But he chucks it all to me thinking it is bad to the fact I am an Alien. I do not use cold water. I just turn the hot water on, get in. So his opinion is NO heating pad will get hot enough for me. So in fact I am an Alien. FINE.

I have always done that. I shower that way, bath, dishes, etc .. no need for cold/hot water. You want a hot shower/bath then take one. :P

So after all that drama. I tried napping again but I had a bed full of visitors and could not move or breathe. I am use to having a King to myself. But Dad dude, catcher dude, and dog dude thought it would be fun to visit. lol. We watched a DVD, Nightmare on Elm Street. The 3rd one I believe.

Now they are all gone, well doggie still here of course, to baseball clinic. This is the best deal we have gotten on a clinic. Every other Saturday, for 2 hours, $10. You can not beat that price!! But as I was soaking away the pain catcher dude called and wants to do private lessons every Sunday from now until March. Hmmm .. well that price is a tad bit more. But what ever you want dear, but your dad is still the driver in charge. I am on strike when possible.

Well just another ramble post. So as I am boring myself, and whom ever reads this, I will just go.

New Year's Day

Well I hope all stayed safe last evening. I would hate to hear silliness of one nights fun caused a life time of grief. {smile}

So new year. New outlook? Re-newed freshness? I am certainly going to try for a complete new outlook on things. Reality? Many years of living with this man has caused my outlook on things to change. Time to grab back my views. I really dislike the way it is causing my son and myself to look at the world through his dark glasses. Time to change the lens. Now I am not saying I will go "rose color" and all. But still not the dark, nasty ones he chooses to wear.

I am feeling better. Still uncomfortable. Still pain here and there. Driving still have not tried. I think I will still only do it absolutely necessary. Dad dude can just step up more and juggle more. He has never been good at that. Always looks to me to juggle. Nah! Your turn babe. I return to doctors on Thursday. So we will see what he says. I almost bet I will leave there in major pain. I can not say I have ever walked out of his office feeling well. :) I am going to try and schedule my next surgery that is due in 8 weeks now. I need better prime time. As in Friday's for one. Early for two. So we will see.

I am going to start drinking more water. I need to cut out all the soda anyway. Plus as much as we eat out, just cutting out soda will save a bundle. They get $$ for drinks. Actually I just hardly drink anything. I just don't. I am not all that thirsty type person. So I am going to try. Least if I do drink water will be the choice.

Today I will be making black eye peas, ham, spinach, corn bread, tators mashed, gravy, and mac & cheese. Well I will be helping in making. I am still on strike. Someone will help. Draw straws, rock.paper.sisscor, whatever. Choose!

Today is just being a quiet day. Dad dude watching sports. I have been just laying in bed watching still all of the things I DVR'd during December. Catcher Dude, is of course bouncing off walls. He wants to be outside (too cold) throwing or batting. Cages? Closed. What a waste in his opionion. He has the day off, dad is home to drive him, why is everything closed? He informed us this winter break sucked baseballs! Mom has been laid up and dad has been working funk hours, so catcher dude got the raw end of the deal. [sorry babe! i really messed up when i agreed to be bullied into this over your break.]

Dad dude will hopefully get the kid outta this house tomorrow. TKD is open finally again. Weather still to cold for outside throwing. But I bet there are some cages open somewhere???? Fing them! GO!

I am going to also see about Dad dude taking me out of this house for a short bit. Maybe to Garden Ridge. I would like to see about getting a new bin for the ornaments. Also maybe a couple more bins. Seems outdoors decorations did not all fit this year back in box. I dunno. I am just stay in PJ's and in bed some more. Sounds like a lot to be getting around for.
