This is life ...

I came across this in another blog ( Dandelion Seed)

This is life...

What?

What you're going through right now IS your life. Stop waiting for the next thing to come. You have plenty in front of you to deal with. One thing at a time... don't be anxious for tomorrow. You have no idea what it will bring. You are supposed to be savoring the present... this very moment... it's a part of a much bigger plan...

But if I could just know what...

... you still would not understand. I have a plan for your life. You must trust Me and not worry about anything...

but...

... AND your response to what life is bringing you matters as well. Your children are watching… and learning from how you're reacting to the unknown. You must remember that in a time of questions… I AM THE ANSWER… I AM.

It really hit home. I need to print this out & read it daily!! As I need this reminder.

Moto for this week ....

Funny when I read this word MOTO it takes me back to LION KING. LOL.

Pumbaa: It's our motto.
Young Simba:: What's a motto?
Timon: Nothing. What's a motto with you?

:-)

So after reading a couple fellow bloggers ( DandelionSeeds & hiplvmom2 ) having a light click on. I am taking on the

~ Moto for this week ... Just keep on moving..moving..moving. ~

I am not going to let this week over whelm me as the past 8+ weeks have. Have an awesome day .. week.

Back Again

Well our AT&T (formly SBC) DSL went down Saturday Jan 13. We fought and fought to get it fixed. Finally DH got fed up. Turned off the AT&T house phone. Called up Charter.

Today they installed our new cable high speed internet. Hopefully everything will continue to smooth out from now on.

Helpful Hints

Bed Sheets

After drying my sheets, put both sheets and one pillowcase in the other pillow case. Fold neatly in a square. Next time you change sheets, you just take the one pillow case and all the sheets and pillow case are inside. No need to look for matches.

Clean your glass shower

To clean the glass in your shower easily, apply lemon juice to the glass with a sponge. Then, take newspaper and wipe the lemon juice off the glass. It will be clean and sparkle with no scrubbing!

Reheat Pizza

Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza. I saw this on the cooking channel and it really works.

Easy Deviled Eggs

Put cooked egg yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash till they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing it up mixing thoroughly, cut the tip of the baggy, squeeze mixture into egg. Just throw bag away when done easy clean up.

Expanding Frosting

When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar/calories per serving.

Reheating refrigerated bread

To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.

Newspaper Weeds-Away

Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go, cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic, they will not get through wet newspapers.

Broken Glass

Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken pieces of glass - the fibers catch ones you can't see!

No More Mosquitoes

Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.

Squirrel Away!

To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.

Easier thank you

When you throw a bridal/baby shower, buy a pack of thank you cards for the guest of honor. During the party, pass out the envelopes and have everyone put their address on one. When the bride/new mother sends the thank you's, they're all addressed!

MINE!!!!!

If you purchase a new bike for your child, place their picture inside the handle bar before placing the grips on. If the bike is stolen and later recovered, remove the grip and there is your proof who owns the bike.

Flexible vacuum

To get something out of a heat register or under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll or empty gift wrap roll to your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to get in narrow openings.

Reducing Static Cling

Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. Same thing works with slacks that cling when wearing panty hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and -- voila -- static is gone.

Measuring Cups

Before you pour sticky substances into a measuring cup, fill it with hot water. Dump out the hot water, but don't dry the cup. Next, add your ingredient, such as peanut butter, and watch how easily it comes right out.

Foggy Windshield?

Hate foggy windshields? Buy a chalkboard eraser and keep it in the glove box of your car. When the windows fog, rub with the eraser! Works better than a cloth!

Reopening envelope

If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Voila! It unseals easily.

Conditioner

Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair...

Good-bye Fruit Flies

To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

Get Rid of Ants

Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it "home," & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp. if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Union, MO --
A 13-year-old boy missing since the beginning of the week was found alive in a suburban St. Louis home, along with a 15-year-old boy missing since 2002, authorities said Friday.
Sheriff Gary Toelke said Ben Ownby and Shawn Hornbeck were found in a Kirkwood home belonging to Michael Devlin, 41. Devlin has been charged with one count of first-degree kidnapping, and Franklin County prosecutor Robert Parks said more charges are likely.
Ownby was last seen Monday, when he stepped off his school bus. The straight-A student and Boy Scout was last seen running the few hundred feet down a gravel road to his home.
Hornbeck disappeared from his home in rural Washington County in October 2002, when he was 11. He had gone for a bike ride and never returned.

Toelke said both boys appeared unharmed. Ownby has been reunited with his family, and Hornbeck's parents were coming to meet their son in Union, the Franklin County seat, Toelke said.

Toelke said the break in the case came Thursday night. Kirkwood city police officers were serving a warrant on an apartment complex when they noticed a white truck matching the description of a vehicle authorities had been searching for in the Ownby investigation.
Kirkwood officers contacted the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and determined where the owner of the truck was. Authorities then searched Devlin's house and found both boys.
Toelke said authorities were surprised to find Hornbeck, who identified himself when officers arrived.

Toelke said authorities were still investigating the motive behind the abductions.
"There are a lot of things we don't know right now," he said.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, police escorted Ownby into the sheriff's department. The slight boy was wearing a red shirt and jeans and appeared somewhat dazed as he walked inside. A moment later, a car door opened and Hornbeck stepped out. He had a thick head of dark hair and was dressed in a leather jacket and jeans.

Happy 2007

Well here we are again. Yet another year.

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. ~Oprah Winfrey

We didn't start this new year any different than we started 2006. So that is my number one goal. To make the changes, and get a fresh start.

May you all be blessed with a great 2007!!
