Terrible Tuesday

Well this is just a week I want to finish and not see again. DH got the call last night, this team is not really interested in a one position player. I really feel for kid on this matter. He has played and trained for one position. That is what was recommended. That is what he has done for 3.5 years. Learned one position, and learned it well. Another thing I have found .. all coaches sons are catchers. But supposely, catchers are in great demand. Where? I want that tryout.

Today was bowling day. That was a so ~ so adventure as well. Really, nothing is standing out grand this week so far. I did finally "look" at a calendar. When I say "look" I mean really lQQk, and realized where we were in July, how August is just aroud corner, and yes .. the word, the word that I don't want to speak nor think about ... SCHOOL. *gasp* Where did the summer go? It always seems to get away from us. *sigh*

Tonight I have spent many hours sitting here today looking for arm strengthen tips for my lil ball player. I can't seem to find anything like I am looking for. Driving me crazy. I have seen to purchase to use, purchase to read, etc ..

I just want simple excerises to strengthen his arms. Help him get those throws out further. Why? Oh why can I NOT find what i am looking for? Probably because I AM LOOKING for it.
If I have to I will check out buying something. But I really thought I could find simple excerises, drills, etc ..

Well Wednesday is around the bend, what will hump day provide for us this week?

Manic Monday

Alright some how I let today just sweep right out from under me and from about 12:30 on was in a hussle and meeting myself coming and going. I have GOT to get back to being the organized mommy that I am, I know I am. Calendars and schedules are my friend and I know this. So what is my trouble, bubble?

Kid had dentist appointment, which of course was a nightmare with the new insurance. I am not sure they still have that correct, but let that be theor trouble. I had my card, as far as I am concerned .. rest is their problem. On good front .. teeth are great!! No cavaites. Perfect! (Now in 10-15 years we will see. Please do not let this child have my teeth as an adult. :0)~ )

Then we had another baseball tryout tonight. It was a hard field to find, but we finally found the dang thing!!

12U-Select Silver - looking for dedicated players (and families) for both fall '07 and spring '08 for a new team (born 5/'95 or after). The core players from several teams are forming a new team, and we are looking to fill out the roster wiht players of
comparable talent and dedication. Plan on 35+ games during spring season. Email

So now we wait ... I really hope we are not just setting him up for one disappointment after another. :(

New Home

So I finally decided that I needed a change. I wasn't blogging as much over at my other site. I decided maybe a change of place, and setting was a good idea. So here I am. I am in the process of moving my stuff over. Little at a time.

Not much exciting news in my life, just me, just my ramblings. So here it is.

Tryouts take two

Alright. So kid was all set to tryout with the Stampedes today. (13u, Chest. AA Gold league) But we skipped that as we are still not sure if 12u or 13u would be a good fit.

So we hit the drawing board again, and started fresh calling 12u teams. We seem to be having a tad bit better luck with this bracket.

Well we did end up in Fenton with the STL Bulldogs. Found them on the Kirk website. (11u/12u) Was at that tryout from 3:30-7:00pm. Kid is invited back for another workout on Thursday 7/26.

So we will see how that goes.

I really hope he finds a team that a) wants him. b) is a good fit. and finally 3) is within a cost we can afford. :-)

First time trying out for a Select Baseball team. Not sure it went all that well, but now at least kid knows what to expect. We should hear in a little while if kid was selected or not for the team.

We stayed home this year. Usually we go to a big display in our city. But the weather was acting up so much we decided to stay in. We BBQ and hung out here with just the 3 of us. We did go to a lil fireworks stand and bought a few things. So after dark, we let the kid set them off. He seemed like he really had a nice time.
