Game Called ... Snow!

Who would have thought we would wake up to snow this morning? Canceling the tournament for the rest of the weekend? Well the rain cancelled it yesterday, but today snow. Come on already!! It is almost April. Spring arrived last week.

But selfishly I am glad the tournament was cancelled. It was not scheduled when I scheduled my week of torture. So I was disappointed when I learned I would miss out on seeing them play.

So yes, here we are. I am home now finally. I managed to make it through this week. Still in loads of pain, but hey! That is what the good drugs are for. That crap you have to drink to prep. UGH! I thought I would not survive that day. But to have to stop foods on Sunday and not have food again until Thursday was not a picnic either. I got to where I would just (TMI ALERT) throw up the jell-o. I could not stand to eat it any longer. Blah! Though Wednesday night I was given some cream of wheat and that wasn’t half bad, with loads of sugar. LOL. But when I finally was released to food on Thursday everything gave me heartburn. So that took the joy out of it.

So hopefully this is it. I am done. I will recover from this last part, and be good to go. The repair went well. I will never be so glad is to not see this Doctor again. 

Well I have to get laid back down. It is still hard to be up for long periods of time. But I wanted to update here and eat. So killed to birds with one stone and now I am off to finish watching my Law & Order: SVU marathon I taped yesterday. I don’t get very far as I doze off during an episode and when I wake up I have to back it up where I left off.

Plus Catcher Dude & I got Twilight off PPV last night and I need to finish that up as well.

Happy Sunday! Hope to be back this week.

Season started .. not a great start.

Well the boys have one tournament under their belts. But not the greatest start. Played 2 games on Saturday and one on Sunday. They were robbed on the second game. Bad umping. But they kept their heads in. Bats were not alive. Outfield needs to wake up. But all and all pretty good. Hopefully the next tournament will bring better. First one out of the way. Butterflies and kinks worked out. So crossing fingers!!

But .. Sunday night brought some really sad, sad news for the team. Their pitching coach was found expired in his parents backyard. He had been having troubles with seizures. Being somewhat new (us) to the team I am not sure if this was a childhood issue, or just started. But apparently he was at his parents house in the backyard doing some yard work. They found him later in the day. That is really all the update I have. Possible more later. I know they are supposed to let the boys know when the viewing is and they are going as a team to show support for his parents and girlfriend.

The boys loved Max. He was closer in age to them (21) and they just adored him. I know Catcher Dude really learned a lot from him. Matter of fact on of the last conversations Max had at the last practice was with Catcher Dude and talking to him about the care of his throwing arm.

He really will be missed. I know catcher dude is crushed, as I am sure all the boys are. He really touched each one of their lives. The boys are going to weat patches in honor of him the rest of the year.

Spring Break, Birthday, Pottery, Baseball Games, Oh My!! ..

I sat down many times this week to post. It has been a very busy week so far. I was planning separate posts but to late for all that. So the multi-propose blog goes as follows:

Sunday
was the first game outside since last fall. Since all the practices, workouts, training, lessons, etc. It ended up being a really nice day out. No rain. It did get into the 60's I believe. But a great day for baseball. There was even some tiny sunburns that occurred.

Catcher Dude was the only catcher that showed up, so he didn't have to share. Which was nice for him. He doesn't like to share. Though the coach did turn around once and in our direction said, "He is going to make it hard this year to pull him from out behind the plate." *smile* Just what Catcher Dude is trying to accomplish.

So the bats didn't really come alive all that well. But there were some. The umpire they had was rough to find his strike zone. He walked quite a few in one inning. So much my darling son flipped off his mask and had words. I so need to mic that kid. I wanna hear him. LOL. So thanks to that first inning the boys were down 1-5. Going into the 8th inning the score was 7-14. It was not looking good bring home the "W" for our team & my birthday. But low and behold errors were flying and walking was taking place and the game ended 17-14. Holey Moley. WTG boys!!

Catcher ended up with 5SB, 2RBI, 3BB, 2H, and 1K. Not bad. Not bad. Seeing how he hasn't really had live outdoor pitching since October.

Later Sunday night DH took me out to eat for my birthday. Catcher Dude was sound asleep so we left him be. It was nice. But I could have just stayed in to be perfectly honest.

Monday
started the official day of Spring Break. We got up early and headed to TKD. He did his class and then we were off again. We dropped off his PS2 for cleaning, repair. It is back to making sounds and slow loading. So hopefully it will be back to life. Then we headed to the movies. We are taking advantage of the $1 shows this week. So Mondays pick was Marley & Me. Umm yeah! Good movie. But I was not aware of the ending. Being the nice Baseball Mom, I will not say here and spoil it for those wanting to see it. So after that we were back off to get back to TKD as it is his day to teach now. So I just dropped him off. Sitting there 3 hours, not my idea of fun. I was already tired from the day. So I came back home. After picking him back up at 7 I crashed!!

Tuesday
doesn't get any lighter on activities and running. I dropped off DH @ school, did 2 loads of laundry, ran dishwasher, got CD up & in shower, me in shower, cleaned up kitchen, cooked lunch and dinner for DH, called DR office, and sporting place where uniforms are, while supervising CD getting leaves picked up. PLUS had to load up truck with lunch & Dinner for DH, Baseball bag, Clothes, and a fan I was selling all before 11 am. We dropped off the food for DH at school. Then we rushed to the mall to meet this woman who bought this fan I sold on Craig's list. Since the mall was 1/2 way between house and baseball practice we hung out at the mall for the remainder of the day. It was a nice day. When we left there we still had a little time so we went to a couple other stores closer to practice. I found a couple good deals on some clearance items. So I snagged them up. Then it was off to practice. We were going to stop for dinner but I was DONE! DONE - Stick a fork in me DONE!! Leaving the house @ noon and not returning until 8. Is a LONG day!!

Pottery
I mentioned in this post, I had received this wonderful pottery on Friday. I think someone is trying to give Gary at Pottery Blog a run for his money.

The artist none other than my wonderful son. I will treasure this forever!! even though he doesn't believe in himself I do. I think it is a wonderful vase. I will find the perfect flowers to place in there.

Well it seems like there was other stuff I was going to ramble on and on about discuss. But my ol' brain is apparently on vacation, along with the rest of me. So I will close now and get busy around here, as this week doesn't get any less busier.

Have a great day and stop and enjoy the lil things in your life.

.. stay tuned for more Spring Break Adventure's updates!! ...

One of those moms ..

Yep! I am now one of those moms, sporting my cute lil Cling on sticker in my truck stating, "Proud parent of an Honor Roll Student of XYZ Middle School".

WTG! Catcher Dude!
I am so proud of you!!

Don't get me wrong he has always carried good grades. But always falling just a tad nose under the guide line for Honor Roll. So I was pleased as punch to go promptly place my clingy to the back of the truck.

Down side when I had the windows tinted for catcher dude 3 years ago he wanted limo black so when he was sitting back there watching DVDs the light would not interfere with seeing the screen. LOL. So you can barely .. barely see it. But that is ok! Mom knows it's there and that's what counts. :)

This weekend not really that busy. This morning my boys are sleeping in. I don't blame um'. The oldest only gets at most 6 hours (and that is being generous) a night. Now the youngest needs to start rolling out of bed! He has a few things I would like done before he rolls out to the cage time he set up.

It would be nice to see the carpet in his room again. It would be nice to see his clothes downstairs and in the laundry. It would be nice to see the top of all furniture in the room. It would be nice to see ...

Who am I kidding? None of that will happen before 11:15 this morning. LOL! But I did make a pack with myself. I was NOT going to rescue that room. NOT going to rescue those poor lil clothes that would love a bath. NOPE! I am not going to do it. I just now walk by and close the door. That is what I believe they are made for really. To hide your teenagers room. To keep that "funk" teen smell from mixing with the rest of the house. YEP!! That is what a door to a teens room is for.

Tomorrow is the BIG day! Yep 365 days have rolled around and it has come up again. The day I become older than my husband. For 8 days he can claim he is married to an older woman, and *rolling eyes* he does it every year!! Please does that joke not get old? (No pun intended) It is the first time the boys get out of the indoor practice & batting cages. To see what they got, or don't got!! LOL!!

The first "unofficial" game of the year. The rain has disappeared from the radar, and now it looks like high will be 59 and cloudy. Guess better than 40 and raining I heard earlier.

Well I have got to get moving. I ran out of time but I was going to post about the awesome pottery I received yesterday. I will have to share that later.

HAPPY SATURDAY!

Ohhhhh this week.

It just needs to end! I am wore out. I can not take one more mama drama. I just can not!! Mama Drama, Sista drama, school drama, work drama, kid drama. All in 70 hours.

I kid not when I say I like my small circle. Close. Quiet. Yes! That is me. Just the three of us. It is simpler. Quieter. Drama free. No matter what those around me believe .. I do NOT like DRAMA! I hate it. To be frank!! I do not like my kid, even though he is 13, stirred up and sent in a whirlwind.

I see it more and more everyday why I keep my circle of life to DH, DS, and I. Going out of the circle, just asking for trouble. Period!

Stepping off my soap box.

Next Item of Business our weather. What a tease! You actually made me believe you actually was on a warmer trend. Now your all cloudy, cold, and threat of rain. That is not playing fair!

We have a nice lil game to play on Sunday and contrary to beliefs we do not enjoy sitting in 50 degree temps with rain. Thanks, but please straighten yourself out and cancel that ugly forecast and bring on a nice outlook. Thank you! Signed, Baseball Mom

A nice ending to today I was left an award today. So that at least is a little rainbow at the end of the stormy weather lately around here. I will blog tomorrow about my award. I all of a sudden am wiped!!

Evening!

As Charlie Brown would say ....

As Charlie Brown would say, “Good grief!”.

I really thought the whole jelly bracket fad had faded out. I guess that was the wrong assumption. Catcher Dude came home tonight talking about how the girls all wear bracelets now. Yep he got my attention in just this one sentence. I knew where this conversation was going.

me: Really?
Cd: Yep! They are plastic.
me: We called them Jelly bracelets. (should have seen the jaw drop .. lol)
Cd: YOU had those bracelets. MOMMMMM!!!
me: yeah, and they were just that. BRACELET'S. Now they have a completely different purpose than when Madonna & Cyndi wore them.
cd: Who is Madonna & Cyndi ..... LOL!!

Conversation continued back and forth some more ... to where we get to this part ...

I really thought they had past this "stage". But the evening only got worse when he was asking me what color meant what. Course I have no clue, but I am more interested in if he was partaking in the "snapping". LOL. Finally (who knew the worm I was
opening) I said I would look up and see if I could find a ridiculous list of colors and meanings. Yep there was. But TMI was brought in play.

He really wanted to know a meaning of a certain color. Seems a lot of girls are wearing one certain color and would not share the "meaning".

Hey Catcher Dude ever heard, "Curiosity killed the cat"?

So .. I share the "meaning" which (is willing to perform anal sex)I get this look .. a blank stare .. *blink ... blink* "Oh! Okay! Thanks."

Then I did it. *sigh* I asked, "Do you know what that means?" (Mom! Why did you ask? Why - o - why????) No! What does it mean?

Now let me stop and say I wish I had video taped the look and expression that he made. I still can not think of it with out tears and laughter coming across.

So I explain and his eyes get WIDE. He grabs his butt and covers and tucks in one quick motion. While shouting, "OUCH!"

Oh MY! It was priceless. There is a MC commerical for you. ROFL!!

Now don't get me wrong .. I love my mommy moments, and that sure is one. Even tops this one. But I just never thought these would be my mommy moments now. What happen to first words, steps, awards, etc ..

So that was my evening!!

Here!

HERE!! I am HERE!!

I am not sure what in the world is getting in my way of blogging. Stay-at-home mom. One child. I should have all the time in the world correct? So what on earth could it be?

Oh yeah! I just remembered! LIFE! Doh!

I do not know what makes me think things are going to slow down. The season is just getting cooking. But really I am tired already. Maybe the time change, nah! I was tired before that. So soon I hope things settle down. I like being busy. But come on!!

Yesterday was a drama day and a half. All I simply did was call my damn, PITA sister to find out if she had her kids covered for my surgery dates. As I need my mother to give me a ride. Yes - BTW you did read that correct. We have to beg borrow and plead for my sister to take her own children. She leaves at least 1 if not both with my mother ALL THE TIME! The one does live full-time .. oh I am not starting with that whole story DRAMA. So it of course stirred a whole hornet's nest of drama. *rolling eyes* This is why my world only expands to DH, DS, and I. Much less drama, much less hassles. But DH can not be in 2 places, so I had to *gasp* ask for help. *faint* The nerve of me!! So that said. I am looking into seeing if the hospital has a transportation system that could help me out. I want out of the drama-loop.

We had such beautiful weather last couple days. Now it is cold and rainy. Booooo!! Outdoor practice for team #2 is supposed to start Thursday but I don't see it happening. Sunday there is a game for team #1. Rain in forecast, so I don't see that happening either. But I was looking forward to seeing them play Sunday. A "W" would be nice as well. Nice way for mom to celebrate. Ugh! Sitting here I just remembered I have to go buy baseball pants. Oh! I though I was done! Okay .. hold please. Alright, went to start my what to do today list.

I originally was going to do a 10 on Tuesday list, but I am going to have to cut this short. Maybe later this evening.

Happy Tuesday!!

Sitting and waiting

Okay so kid is at his 2 hour Staff class. So I sit here bored. The weather is calling me out. This is the last activity for Catcher Dude today. Finally! We have been running since 8 this morning. We are going over to my moms after while for dinner. They are Q'n. Nice weather for it too.

So while I sit and wait I thought I would share some fun freebie finds for you.

Dove Hair Therapy System with Serum - Choice of 2 FREE Samples!

FREE Sample of Goodnites Sleep Shorts
The GoodNites Boxer Style offers a new choice for kids that give them trusted nighttime protection in a cool new style.

8 more days until another birthday rolls around. You know funny story DH and I always get questioned when we have to give both our birthdays. It is not the same date. But they seem to think we have given them wrong information.
"I said 15 this time not 23."
"No that is correct."
Duh!

Actually Catcher Dude will be playing in game on the 15th. *smile* Nice way to spend my birthday. *crossing fingers for warm weather & no rain*
What can I say DH like them older. LOL.

I am really excited Spring Break is almost here. Just 4 more school days. Then out for 10 days (counting weekends). Not sure what we will do. If anything other than the norm of practices, clinics, and TKD. If the 1$ show still has Twilight I would like to make sure CD gets to go see it. Since he was burned by those who said they would see it with him when it first came out. If not there is certainly something we can see together. I know .. I know .. not really cool to be seen in a theatre with your mom. But I am sure you can muster up the courage. LOL.

We got the schedule for the first team yesterday. So it is getting closer. I am getting excited. Especially since weather has been wonderful last two days. So soon that is all you will hear from me. Stats, scores, and brags. Because that is how I roll. Okay, so I promised kid I would stop saying that, tee-hee, but this is my blog. So deal!!

Okay! Well I promised I would watch last 30 minutes, so I best me getting my bum in.

Happy Weekend everyone!!

HAPPY HAPPY FRiday!!

Good Morning. It is a beautiful day!! Temp is currently 66, with a high expected of 72. The sun is shinning. It just seems for the minute the dark stormy clouds we have been under lately is lifted. Even if it is just for the moment. I will take it.

Things are on track again(again least for the moment) and busy is falling onto the day. But with fun things. Catcher Dude has No School Today. He is off to TKD in about 1/2 hour. Then he is meeting his 5 year old PITA cousin at the skate rink to try and teach her to ice skate. Then later we are off to practice. So least we have fun up lifting light hearted things to do today.

This weekend is as always a action packed adventure as well. So though we might not actually be free, things are looking up. Looking brighter. It is a wonder what warmer temps, and sunshine can bring on.

Also .. I was not going to say anything, but the Anonymous Poster on Wednesday .. Please do not return! That is just fine!! Though you said you would not return so you should not see this. :0)~ HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Back .. and in review ..

So I missed blogging. I missed reading the blogs I follow. I have been missing a lot. So hopefully things will calm down and I can get back into my grove. :)

So as I catch up around here I will touch on what has been keeping me busier than a bee.

Tuesday 24th - Kid woke up feeling ugh, and really wanted to go to the Free IHOP Pancake day. He missed the last couple years when dad dude and I went so I thought, "heck why not?" Dad dude couldn't go. So catcher dude twisted my arm was told he could go. I for some reason had to go change the laundry around and when doing so what did I find in my washing machine ...

Catcher Dudes iPod. *thud*
He left it in his jean pocket and when he tosses laundry down to be washed, for what ever reason dumb mom I didn't check pocket before I put them in laundry. UGH!!! I always check. Even though I repeatedly tell everyone, Check pockets!! Check pockets!! How many times do I have to tell ppl around here to CHECK AND CLEAR out pockets.

Parts of me felt horrible. But then I thought, how many times have I told him? CD is devastated! It ruined breakfast. He didn't even eat his free pancakes. :(

But he just batted his baby teary hazels @ his nana and they returned with a new. So let me get this right? You start the day with a iPod Nano and leave it in the wash, ruine it, and end the day with a iPod Touch? Yeah! That makes sense to me!!!

Then there were issues at school with the PTSA. I have never seen so much drama between members in all my time dealing with PTA's at all the schools he has attended.

Wednesday 25th - Back to School. Back to normal life. Or so we thought. Until the phone rang. My Step-Dads brother is missing. He left a suicide note, and can not be found. Oh dear! He was found later in the day .. unfortunately he thought he didn't have any other choices. This really hit my step dad. He was close to his brother. He had just seen him the weekend before. He left behind his wife .. 10 kids .. 16 grandchildren. What a shame. I hope he is at peace now.

Thursday & Friday 26 & 27 - These days are just blurs. So much was coming & going, and calls here, calls there, I couldn't keep up with all the drama. It was just a whirlwind. Catcher Dude was home from school, he was really ill. Yeah, that will happen when we stop listening to mom about you still need a coat! Not spring yet! Plus all the run, run, running I do. *sighhhhh*

So those are some of the things keeping me from sitting for a minute. Here is to March calming down.

  • Though I did get my next surgeries scheduled and that is coming up in March.
  • Plus Spring Break around the corner.
  • There is a Baseball Tourney this month as well. I certainly hope warmer weather is around the corner. The high today is only in low 50's. Not baseball weather at all.

  • But for now, laundry (YES I checked pockets) need to swap out and shower to be had. Then up to school. My volunteering time is almost done. I just can not juggle any more. Something has to give!!
