The Catcher's Report

The Catcher's Report
January Catch-up

So life has been so busy, I have been to lazy to haven't even had the time to write. So a quick jog thru and then I am off to play farmville catch on things I am behind here at the house ...

1/10 - I returned to my surgeon & though he says I have a clean bill of health and was ready to remove the drain. I declined. Not having the time, nor patience, nor funds at this time, decided F-- it! I am leaving it in. Doesn't hurt anything. He even said more time could not hurt. So I intend to leave in. My goal is next March. (2012) So that is that. When I am ready for drain to remove, I am to call.

1/11 -
I wrote about that day already. Here.

1/13 - 18th Wedding Anniversary. Dakota's 11th Birthday. I already covered that day. Here.

1/17 - No School. MLK Day.

1/18 - I finally picked out my new phone. I went with the Sony Xperia. It is like CD's but after all the back and forth. I just picked. CD had school then his usual Tuesday night gig. Catching from 5-9. The Tuesdays he has Personal Fitness @ school, makes for a rough night of catching. Since he can not work on his arms. (Thanks a$$clown!) He does all lower body workouts. (Now that baseball workouts have started, Tuesdays are weight room after school. So he will go straight from P.F. to the workouts again. *ouch*) Also ..CD has been complaining A LOT about pain coming from cast. So after much complaining I call his surgeon, they got him in 19th.

1/19 - New phone? Yeah! Took it back. I didn't like how it sounded. All the playing with CD's .. I never talked on the D*mn thing. So I exchanged it for the Flight II. Plus saving on the Smart Phone cost. I just couldn't stomach the cost. Not with all CD's and my medical bills pouring in. Oh! Well!

I also pulled CD out of school early as he is just uncomfortable. I took him to surgeon after a quick conversation cast came off, x-ray taken, pins came out. The pins had worn out the padding, and they were jabbing into ring finger. One cap had even came off in the process as well. The Dr. did tell him he can now do NOTHING. No more some weights. No more catching. No contact. No ball sports. Nadda. Until next appt. The finger is still very FRAGILE, and it could easily break again. :(
(oh yeah that made for a worse attitude .. THANKS AGAIN A$$CLOWN!!)

So after all that was said and done, they shipped us off downstairs to start therapy and get a splint made. At first he was annoyed he was going back into a constraint, he was overjoyed to learn he could remove to shower. That is a major PLUS. He was tired of showering in swim trucks while one of us helped him shower. That sucked for all parties. But now he can remove this to shower and do his therapy.

Now comes the real $$ eater. As CDD's insurance will not cover any therapy. Thanks BCBS .. THANK YOU A$$CLOWN!! The Dr's office is trying to get that over turned as it is a NEED not a, "oh I have a little twisted back, ankle, etc .."

So we will see .. have fun Wash U.

1/20 - I will say if we have had any luck with this whole nightmare the snow days and Christmas Break timing has worked in our favor.
When A$$clown broke it, the next day snow day. So he didn't have to go back in pain, less than 24 hours since happen. When had to have surgery on Christmas Break, and though it was ruined, he didn't have to worry about getting back right away or missing school. Now this day, just had cast off, getting used to splint, plus 1 less day he has to be put in a dangerous situations where a "what if" or "could be" or A$$clowns attack II.

This is the most snow we have had in a very long time. We got over 12" over night and into the day. CD doesn't recall having this much snow before. Of course he couldn't enjoy it how he would have liked (Thanks ;) again a$$clown) sledding & shoveling for $$. *shrug* whatyagunnado?

Oh the New Flight phone? Yeah, I hated it. So returned that, and now I am back to the broken Impression. I think I will just do the insurance claim and say f-- it! I have never had such a hard time with phones. Probably more going on then phones. Just sayin ..

1/21 - I can not say I was disappointed that CD would now have 4 days to heal more without cast protecting that finger. He is just safer. Plus .. he is still getting to study for the finals he was to take back on Dec 20 & 21. Talk about luck. Ha! He was more excited than CDD & I. :) CD pointed out that he has not had a full week of school since the week of Dec 6-10. That is insane. Maybe next week. They are calling for another storm coming through Sunday night and predicting schools might have to cancel again. Now at this rate they will be going to school in June. Blah!

-----

That is about it. All wrapped up in a quick run down. Just still trying to muddle through and come out on the other side with as little battle scars as possible.

An Anniversary & A Birthday..

~*~*~

Whole Cow .. we made it to another year. 18 years. Ha! They said it wouldn't last a year. It is quite simple how we have lasted 20 years together, 18 of which married. He have never spent more than a couple months tops on days. ha! ha! Kind of hard not to stay together when you don't see each other on a daily bases. I kid. I kid.

Seriously I do not know where the time went. Time just flies by. Seems like just yesterday we were just getting married and moving 900+ miles away to the Frozen Tundra, though that was 18 years ago this April. Seems like just last week the stick had two lines, though he turns 16 this May. Something must be going right for all that to just seem like yesterday.

Guess I could have chosen worse. *wink*

So in saying that ..

Today is the perfect time to tell you what you mean to me.

How I depend on you to love me for who I am
and
believe in me for what I hope to be.
How I feel loved each time you smile or touch my hand and,
when I need someone to listen, I know you'll understand.
It means the world to me when you tell me I am the best mother
our child could ask for,
that you wish your own mother would have been as great as I am with our son.
You will never know how that makes me feel.

The last 6 months had been rocky, but you stood by my indiscretions.
Put up with my yelling and tantrums.
Picked me up when I crumbled.

So CDD, I celebrate my love for you,
grateful that we have the happiness life gives to just a few.
I Love You!
Always & Forever!

But yet again we will spend our Anniversary apart. Work. Got to love their schedule, hours, shifts, and no vacation in January rule. :) I cannot remember the last Anniversary we spent together. Probably 2007-08. But January 2013 we will finally be able to spend the day together. :)

So Cheers! Here's to another ....

~*~ Also today we celebrate a Birthday Day ~*~

Happy Birthday Dakota! 11 years ago today you came into this world. In May you will have been bring happiest and joy to us for the same amount of time. Thanks for becoming a member of this family. Thanks for choosing us.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOY!!
Happy Birthday Day!!

My Star Was Born ( Happy Birthday Catcher Dude)

My Star Was Born

It was May 5, 1995 3:31 at night
I heard a voice crying so loud yet so light.
Oh! I could hardly believe it,
I saw 10 little fingers, 10 little toes
1 chubby body & 1 little nose.

I couldn't explain what I have felt then
So, the very first day, I stared at You again.
I never wanted to leave You nor sleep a bit
I always wanted to embrace You
& kiss You from head to feet.

What a great feeling!
A wonderful blessing!
Not everyone would see
nor count as it should be.

God, so meek & mild,
He gave You to me
My dearest & only child, who turned 15 today.

Happy Birthday!!

She's Alive ..

I really do not know where time has gone. It seems like it was just the beginning of March. We were sitting on pins and needles waiting for High School Baseball Tryouts to be completed and the start of the season.

Now I sit here and it is the 4th of May. Catcherdudes birthday is tomorrow, the last HS baseball game is Thursday, and there is only 15 more whole days and 3 1/3 days left of the Freshman year. WOW! Where did the time go? It is just flying by.

Their season records stands today 9-2. But the large number of scores in the games were unbelievable.

This coach everyone spoke very highly of and he didn't disappoint in the least. CD learned so much in these short 9 weeks. Sad it has to end. Though the boys never learned to play as a whole, more me, me, me boys than team, team, team. But you almost have to excuse a couple as that is how they were raised. As you could tell that in the parent benches. But I am not going to dwell on that as I was expecting BIG egos, to go with the freshman boys. Just in their testosterone's. LOL. But as everything it is time to move on. Spring/Summer baseball had already been in progress while CD away at high School team.

The Birthday .. Oh yes one of the bigger ones. He can now get his driving permit. Most kids would be biting at the bits for the date to turn and rush off to get it. Not mine.

"I am busy."
"Baseball and School come first."
"Might get around to it after school ends."
"Probably."

What a nut!

I can not say I will be sad this year for school to be ending. It is time. Time for break. Time to not have that plus all the other activities. Time to enjoy the upcoming Summer. Just wished the calendar reflected that. This week alone is jammed for. Volunteer hours for CD tonight, plus I am helping out as well. Awards Wednesday plus his birthday, volunteering at school during lunch & last game on Thursday. Etc.. etc .. on and on ...

Speaking of which I am now off to shower and start my day. Kitchen and laundry room been yelling at me all morning. Guess I best listen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATCHER DUDE!!

Photobucket

My Cinco De Mayo Baby teenager!!

Happy 14th Birthday Catcher Dude!!
May 5, 2009

Dear Catcher Dude,

My darling son, dear Catcher Dude,
He's best in every way.
Now we celebrate with joy
His big 14th birthday.

Catcher Dude is so special,
No one else on earth
Is sensitive, fun and strong like him,
Or compares in his golden worth.

I'll always remember the day he was born,
Took over 20 hours to show his face.
He always takes his time, my son,
Has such a sense of place.

Right away he was the calmest babe,
such an easy child to raise.
In lots of different ways
Our Catcher Dude can amaze.

The day he went to kindergarten
I cried, the tears did flow.
But brave and independent,
Off to school did Catcher Dude go.

Everyone loves our Catcher Dude,
If there's joy around, he's there.
Such a wonderful little guy,
With a caring, pure world view.

Older than his years in ways,
So very loving and so wise.
When they made strength of character,
They made Catcher Dude up to size.

The deep talks we have together,
Our heart-to-hearts, so bright.
He's just the greatest young man,
He always sheds great light.

You truly are so special,
A miracle from stars above.
Happy birthday, dearest one,
With all our joy and love.

Love,
Mom

Spring Break, Birthday, Pottery, Baseball Games, Oh My!! ..

I sat down many times this week to post. It has been a very busy week so far. I was planning separate posts but to late for all that. So the multi-propose blog goes as follows:

Sunday
was the first game outside since last fall. Since all the practices, workouts, training, lessons, etc. It ended up being a really nice day out. No rain. It did get into the 60's I believe. But a great day for baseball. There was even some tiny sunburns that occurred.

Catcher Dude was the only catcher that showed up, so he didn't have to share. Which was nice for him. He doesn't like to share. Though the coach did turn around once and in our direction said, "He is going to make it hard this year to pull him from out behind the plate." *smile* Just what Catcher Dude is trying to accomplish.

So the bats didn't really come alive all that well. But there were some. The umpire they had was rough to find his strike zone. He walked quite a few in one inning. So much my darling son flipped off his mask and had words. I so need to mic that kid. I wanna hear him. LOL. So thanks to that first inning the boys were down 1-5. Going into the 8th inning the score was 7-14. It was not looking good bring home the "W" for our team & my birthday. But low and behold errors were flying and walking was taking place and the game ended 17-14. Holey Moley. WTG boys!!

Catcher ended up with 5SB, 2RBI, 3BB, 2H, and 1K. Not bad. Not bad. Seeing how he hasn't really had live outdoor pitching since October.

Later Sunday night DH took me out to eat for my birthday. Catcher Dude was sound asleep so we left him be. It was nice. But I could have just stayed in to be perfectly honest.

Monday
started the official day of Spring Break. We got up early and headed to TKD. He did his class and then we were off again. We dropped off his PS2 for cleaning, repair. It is back to making sounds and slow loading. So hopefully it will be back to life. Then we headed to the movies. We are taking advantage of the $1 shows this week. So Mondays pick was Marley & Me. Umm yeah! Good movie. But I was not aware of the ending. Being the nice Baseball Mom, I will not say here and spoil it for those wanting to see it. So after that we were back off to get back to TKD as it is his day to teach now. So I just dropped him off. Sitting there 3 hours, not my idea of fun. I was already tired from the day. So I came back home. After picking him back up at 7 I crashed!!

Tuesday
doesn't get any lighter on activities and running. I dropped off DH @ school, did 2 loads of laundry, ran dishwasher, got CD up & in shower, me in shower, cleaned up kitchen, cooked lunch and dinner for DH, called DR office, and sporting place where uniforms are, while supervising CD getting leaves picked up. PLUS had to load up truck with lunch & Dinner for DH, Baseball bag, Clothes, and a fan I was selling all before 11 am. We dropped off the food for DH at school. Then we rushed to the mall to meet this woman who bought this fan I sold on Craig's list. Since the mall was 1/2 way between house and baseball practice we hung out at the mall for the remainder of the day. It was a nice day. When we left there we still had a little time so we went to a couple other stores closer to practice. I found a couple good deals on some clearance items. So I snagged them up. Then it was off to practice. We were going to stop for dinner but I was DONE! DONE - Stick a fork in me DONE!! Leaving the house @ noon and not returning until 8. Is a LONG day!!

Pottery
I mentioned in this post, I had received this wonderful pottery on Friday. I think someone is trying to give Gary at Pottery Blog a run for his money.

The artist none other than my wonderful son. I will treasure this forever!! even though he doesn't believe in himself I do. I think it is a wonderful vase. I will find the perfect flowers to place in there.

Well it seems like there was other stuff I was going to ramble on and on about discuss. But my ol' brain is apparently on vacation, along with the rest of me. So I will close now and get busy around here, as this week doesn't get any less busier.

Have a great day and stop and enjoy the lil things in your life.

.. stay tuned for more Spring Break Adventure's updates!! ...

One of those moms ..

Yep! I am now one of those moms, sporting my cute lil Cling on sticker in my truck stating, "Proud parent of an Honor Roll Student of XYZ Middle School".

WTG! Catcher Dude!
I am so proud of you!!

Don't get me wrong he has always carried good grades. But always falling just a tad nose under the guide line for Honor Roll. So I was pleased as punch to go promptly place my clingy to the back of the truck.

Down side when I had the windows tinted for catcher dude 3 years ago he wanted limo black so when he was sitting back there watching DVDs the light would not interfere with seeing the screen. LOL. So you can barely .. barely see it. But that is ok! Mom knows it's there and that's what counts. :)

This weekend not really that busy. This morning my boys are sleeping in. I don't blame um'. The oldest only gets at most 6 hours (and that is being generous) a night. Now the youngest needs to start rolling out of bed! He has a few things I would like done before he rolls out to the cage time he set up.

It would be nice to see the carpet in his room again. It would be nice to see his clothes downstairs and in the laundry. It would be nice to see the top of all furniture in the room. It would be nice to see ...

Who am I kidding? None of that will happen before 11:15 this morning. LOL! But I did make a pack with myself. I was NOT going to rescue that room. NOT going to rescue those poor lil clothes that would love a bath. NOPE! I am not going to do it. I just now walk by and close the door. That is what I believe they are made for really. To hide your teenagers room. To keep that "funk" teen smell from mixing with the rest of the house. YEP!! That is what a door to a teens room is for.

Tomorrow is the BIG day! Yep 365 days have rolled around and it has come up again. The day I become older than my husband. For 8 days he can claim he is married to an older woman, and *rolling eyes* he does it every year!! Please does that joke not get old? (No pun intended) It is the first time the boys get out of the indoor practice & batting cages. To see what they got, or don't got!! LOL!!

The first "unofficial" game of the year. The rain has disappeared from the radar, and now it looks like high will be 59 and cloudy. Guess better than 40 and raining I heard earlier.

Well I have got to get moving. I ran out of time but I was going to post about the awesome pottery I received yesterday. I will have to share that later.

HAPPY SATURDAY!

Just another day, glad to be here

Well 16 years. We've made it to 16 years together. Well we really have been together 18 years. I can not believe it.

Now I would fill in here how much it sucks he is working tonight, we didn't do anything over the weekend. The day is coming and going and that is it. How horrible of a day. But I have ran into 2 past class mates, both men, in the last month. One is in the middle of a divorce of 10 year marriage. The other on his 3rd marriage in 17 years. Oy! The one guy was tell me how 2 others we knew had also divorced. Good Grief Charlie Brown. So I suppose it isn't all that bad. Actually DH brought up a fine point.

"Babe, Didn't you date all of those guys?"

Me thinking ... "Yeah, I guess I did."

"Hmm .. guess I was the lucky one"

That made my day. Guess they are the losers and even though I am once again without an anniversary date, I still have the date ticking away to another year. Guess there is always next year. Though I was thinking if we had time we might sneak away this weekend. If that is I am feeling up to being out, and baseball doesn't already have the calendar booked.

I really would like to go to my favorite restaurant. We have not been in a couple years and don't think my husband will think of it. Though I will be nice he did get up at 7:30 this morning after getting to bed after 2 a.m from work to take me to eat. But eating pancakes while trying to hold back the urge to throw up, due to the smell of smoke and coffee, doesn't scream romantic in my book. lol.

We will have to see.

Also today is Dakota's 9Th Birthday. I tried to get a decent picture of him today, but he was not having it. So this one will have to do. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAKOTA!!

Well another year. Another year of getting older, and though I could complain ... I thank my blessings. Another year of spending with family & friends. =o)

Quiet day. Not feeling all that well. Cold getting the better of me. Though my better 1/2 and child took me out to dinner. Was nice. Better half even tried shrimp for a first in his life. So that was awesome.

Medicine kicked in so to bed I go!!
