Day 38 .. Best Laid plans

Best laid plans ... I had every intention of going back to blogging at the first of the year. Well here we are day 38 of 2015 and just now making first post. I plan on getting better at posting. I am going to need some place to put feelings out there. For the next 5 months. Big changes. It will be okay. Yes, tonight I sit and breathing is the best I can do.

So until time comes .. here is the first of many blogs for 2015!

Cha .. cha ... changes ..

(I dislike this new setup I tried forever to add picture and failed.)

9.20.12

Had the most perfect day. Spent it with the hub. Weather was perfect. Walking around the city. Perfect. Watching baseball game. Wonderful. It was a fun. fun. day.

Most fun I have had in a long time. The High School FBLA was there for Career day. Only seen son once, when he came to pick up his money of course. :)

I even behaved with my eating. Packed snacked. Drank Water. Stayed away from concession. Woo Hoo!! Now after? Not so much. Hooters was not the best choice. But I will say walking all the blocks from Baseball Stadium, to Hooters, then to the Hockey Stadium helped me feel a little better about that choice. :)

Lastly my favorite pitcher. Motte.

Snoozy Saturday

It amazes me how much our weekends have changed now that teen is older. No more crazy running around like mad, where did the weekend go, weekends. I can't tell you the last time we had ANY plans on a weekend. You would think I would miss it ... I dont. Not yet at least.

This is the last weekend before school starts. Senior Year. Man did time fly. I remember the first day of Kindergarten. Now here we are 13 years later. lol

I spend all week drinking the fat flush. I can not wait to see if it helped along any weight lost. I was very good about recording annd keeping track this week. I really wish I had been better at exercise. But I did work on all my goals and can not ask for anymore than that. :)

Weather has been wonderful last 2 days. Low 80's. I am so glad the 100's are a distant memory right now. I hope we do not see them again this year. :)

Well off to enjoy the rest of my day. Doing nothing. :)

Rambling, Recipes, Weight Loss

I have gotten where I just do see the sense in cooking. I just cook for me. Boy never eats here. He is always on the go. (Though his checking account shows :( it.) The hub he eats on the run. Mostly he sleeps and works. So I have got to where I just do not see the reason to cook. Though it has stalled my weight loss journey I am on. So today I decided to set goals for myself. (Haven't made them yet, but they will be there soon .. ha)

I did go to store tonight and picked up some items to try 2 new recipes. I have really been diggin the seafood. I eat it at least 2-4 times a week. I had been eating Tilapia. But now I am craving the Salmon. I looked around to find a recipe to change around (healthier) of the Salmon Patties mom makes. I found this one I am going to change up a bit and try it.
Then of course I am still big on the Sweet Potato. I tried the Sweet Potato Fries BK has right now, and though good. Last couple times they were limp and soggy. So again I went on a hunt to find another option. HERE

So that is what's for Dinner tomorrow night.

Temps are climbing back into the triple digits. I can not even remember when it has rained. Sprinkles here & there maybe. But a good soaking .. not for a while.

Still trying to recover from last week and helping mom with all the nieces and nephew. Though really I just had the 2 year old most of the time. I did take the all three girls to the movies a couple times. It was crazy. No one should have that many unruly children under one roof. (That is nothing but bad parenting. PLAIN and SIMPLE)

Plus all that going on, Hub was on Vacation. So tiring week for sure. I am thinking early night tonight.

I did a much better job tracking my food today. Plus I got up and walked like I should everyday. So that is another Plus. So today ended up not being a bad day.

:)

Halloween Fail, Over Slept & Furnace Fail ..

CD & I was planning on taking niece #1 out T or T. But her mother decided since we would not be taking Niece #2 & niece #3 as well, we could not take #1. OK. You will not get a fight out of us. We are okay with that. So we stayed in and was in bed early. So early in fact we missed dinner. I vaguely remember an alarm going off this a.m. But I slept right through it apparently. When I woke to phone ringing it was 9:45 a.m and the furnace man was on his way. I did go flying into CD's room thinking I would find him there all snug as a bug, but CD the rock star that he is didn't miss his alarm, or bus. I am so happy for that!!

As far as the furnace, let's just say I am a so glad it is not freezing cold outside! The simple furnace start-up was a simple F-A-I-L. They worked on this thing all day and evening. Replaced parts after parts .. F-A-I-L! The next step is in the morning calling the actual Furnace company Rep out here to look at it. Oy! I am glad this is NOT my headache.

Though I did think at first CD was going to miss HS batting & his batting lessons. I couldn't leave people in house while I left, CDD was at work, and of course couldn't get help from my mom as my sister has her all wrapped up with niece #1 so that she can not help my family. *sigh* But I lucked out and when they had to run to pick up another part, I could drop and dash CD where he needed to be. Then when furnace guy returned I told him he had to be gone by 8 No ifs, and's, or buts. He agreed.

Tomorrow is No School & Election Day. I am not sure what will get done now that we will have people coming back to get the furnace working. Now I really wish I had waited. There is nothing I hate worse than people/things getting in my way of a day off with the kid. But CDD will be here, he took night off to go with CD to Pitching lessons (not CD .. CD catches the pitchers) He likes watching. Me? I have had my fair share of sitting around. I just drop and ditch now. :)

I will sitting down in next couple days and make a check list of things to start getting done. Time to start my Christmas prep. I have a tree that needs lighting repair. Though in thinking I am not sure how many of our trees will get up this year. I love them. I love having them. But the older I get, harder to get them all up and decorated in a timely manner.

With that said, I need to head to bed. I have to be up early in a.m to ride with CD so he can take his car to get oil changed. With all the comings and goings with furnace I totally forgot. Oy!

Loose Change

It feels like I am always picking up coins around this house. I can not believe the amount of change that is found around here, in washer, couch, beds, floors, bathroom, you name it I have found change there. Plus I am the only one that seems to know how to pick it up. I don't get it.

This morning I gathered up almost $30 in change. WTH? I just don't understand really where it comes from.

It seems like I very rarely have cash, I use my debit card. The husband? Ha! He is lucky if he can use his card as I spend all the money. Catcherdude? Well maybe in past, but now he is a debit card holder as well. So where does it all come from?

I am puzzled. But I keep picking it up. No one claims it. I throw it in one of the candy dishes sitting around, I don't have candy in house may as well use it for something. Eventually I wrap it and someone takes it to their bank. But really it is annoying. Just keep your change to yourselves please!!

So how about you? Have loose change around your house?

The Catcher Report ..

That title caught me last week and thought, hell why not. Use it again. :)

~*~

So now we have two full weeks of Sophomore year under way. I couldn't tell you anymore than I did last week about the comings and goings. Which I will not let sit idle another week. I haven't asked one question. Checked phone once. Looked on-line at grades. There is lax then there is lazy ass parent syndrome. So I will check-in soon.

Open House was last night. I know Catcher Dude was excited he had all female teachers. Because well frankly he can bat those hazel eyes and they give into him. This was proven last year. Over and Over. Well sorry to break it to you son, but your xxx teacher, yeah she is batting for the other team. So good luck batting eyes at her. :) Which really they need to stop giving into him.

Other than that they all seem fine. Just fine. None I would jump for joy and say she is a great person/teacher. He is in two aided classrooms. Which I was told by SSD that wouldn't happen due to funding. So okay. But then you did it anyway. Make up your minds already. There is one issue he does want addressed, so I will send an email to admins in the next couple weeks. You walk into one teachers room and you are knocked over by the smell of coffee. Oy! It is bad. Like coffee house x3. There is no reason to have 2 coffee pots and subjecting students to that smell.

~*~

XC last week's time trials went well. Out of 38 he placed 11. He wasn't happy with his time. But they were all on high side. It had rained the night before and wet, soggy, muddy, terrain isn't the best for running. The top runner on his team just is unbelievable. His time was 18:39, and that isn't his best record either. I really think he will beat the school record soon.

~*~

Been another quiet week at the Home Fields. Which is not the norm for around here. So I am not sure what is up with that, but will enjoy it while it lasts.

So that is all my ramble this Friday.

The Catcher Report ..

This week was the first week of school, and for the first time in 11 years I could tell you nothing about it. Good, bad, indifferent, that is just how it is. Seems for right now I have let go. I didn't insist I go pick him up everyday after practice. (so as to drill him .. got everything, books, homework, running stuff, etc, etc) I didn't call out as getting out of the car in the morning. (have your stuff, don't forget blah & blah) He either did his work, or he didn't I let it go. I am very impressed. I did well. *self pat on back*

~*~

XC is in full swing. Meets start Saturday. CD is really excited about this upcoming season. On one hand I am, but on the other. Well we all know what happen last season. (HERE & HERE) Now do I believe these boys are dumb enough for a repeat, NO! But really it never blew over that CD had nothing to do with it all. Well, he (nor I) had nothing to do with the email. It is just hard to let it go (for me) as they really made his freshman year a little more saucy than necessary.

Plus I was told right at the end of school by a few parents the parties that were guilty for the letter was bragging how she planned it the way she did to make us, Catcherdude and I, look like the guilty party. Hmmm really? Let's just say this mamma better stay away from me at the meets. There is 3.1 miles of ground. Go find some NOT next to me. :)

~*~

Tryout will resume this Sunday for Summer 2011 Baseball. His finger is still giving him fits. So I hope this is not putting his chances in danger. But really? He broke the thing playing for you. You should take that into consideration. Butts! This week & next then they will make their selections.

~*~

Finally last item, and my ramble is done. This past weekend we had to replace the entire furnace and air conditioning system in the house. Oh not what I was planning for the money. But hopefully this will help with lots of things.

June? Really?

I can not believe it is already almost the middle of June. School gets out and (blink) it will be August before I know it ...

So excuse the absentness. I am sure by now I have lost most of my readers. Which is a bummer, but I never really blogged for others. It was for me. :)

Everything is in full swing. Three baseball teams. XC practice for HS has already started. CD is cutting three yards this summer for extra $$. Finishing up last belt in TKD. .. not a moment to spare around here.

But I did in my spare (ha!Ha!) time sign up for

Photobucket

I have really been watching my food/diet for quite a few weeks but I was lacking in the exerise department. I am really hoping this will jump start my progress there. But the healthy food, diet, food watch has also been slipping.

Do you know how hard it is to watch your food intake, healthy vs. not, all while spending most time on road from event to event, sitting in baseball fields? I have really been in the search for a healthy, easy to travel snacks etc ..

I had more on brain but bed is calling. Have a good weekend.

No Monday Moan Here ..

So far this morning it has been a good Monday. Yeah it started out the same ol' same ol'. Teen wouldn't get up, it was still dark, etc .. etc .. But for the most part. Positive thinking ahead, it has been a good day so far.

After dropping of CD at school I went and walked 2 miles (woo hoo), came home did the dishes, and started laundry. Showered. (That in it's self is a mircle .. lol) So I am going with this will be a great day.

Keeping fingers crossed that Catcherdude has a good day today, and gets things in order. It has been a rough patch with school work. Why on earth anyone would do the work and then forget to turn it in?? Just baffles me. But we are working hard on remembering. Studying. Organizing. So here is the the power of positive thinking and all will be accomplished today. X (--) X <-- me with fingers crossed. LOL. I am hoping to get to go out today with my camera and do some more practice and test shooting. Last week I took 3 camera classes. I really picked up some helpful tips and ideas. Hopefully I will get some good pictures of baseball this season. I even got a new lens (50mm F 1.8) on Saturday. What I really .. really .. really want is this 135mm F1.8 but that $ will $ have $ to $ wait. But sure is sweet. I went to another teams game the other day. Here is a good shot of what a catcher should NOT do. LOL

Season opener is tomorrow. I can not wait!! But I am sure Catcherdude is more excited than I am. LOL

Spring Breakin

Once again life happens. This week has been Spring Break for Catcherdude. He has needed to break. Time to stop. breathe. smell the roses. HA! Right! Fat chance in that.

So since I am behind once again let's do a catch up bullet style on the comings and goings of this clubhouse.

  • Practices are going well. But not enough work to keep Catcher Dude busy enough.
  • Very disappointed no practices during spring break.
  • He was unable to wear his usual number and feels a little out of sorts but all is good.
  • First game less than 2 weeks away now.
  • I have gotten another yr older
  • Saw The Blind Side (awesome movie, sad, funny .. all good)
  • Since last walking into the halls of his High School a week from tomorrow, 5 students sadly ended their lives. So the end of their break will consist of attending funerals.
  • Coming to realize, I can not run around and do multiple activities through out a break from school. I.am.getting.old..er.

I recently got a new digital camera. Catcherdudes Dad wanted me to have a newer camera to take pictures of all the baseball and other life events. I am so far really liking it. I decided to really learn the features on this one, so I am going to take classes starting next week. I am craming 3 in before the first baseball game on the 30th. LOL. I know I am crazy!! But hopefully it will be worth wild.

That is really all I can currently think of that has been going on since I last took the time to stop by and blog. I really wanted to start a 365 days in photos blog, but I realized I was putting to much on myself. So maybe twice a week. We will see.

On that note I leave you with this photo:

Picture of the cake we bought Catcherdude to celebrate making the team.

Cold. C-O-L-D! Bitter Blast!

Okay so really? Who turned on the a/c to full blast outside? It is freezing today. With freak snow showers one minute, the next sunshine. \(--)/ Currently 29 but sure as heck feels colder than that.

I have not a want in the world to go back out today. After trip to get taxes done, trip to grocery store, and lunch with DH. I am good, or at least you would think. But I have to go pick up son and then take the boy out for his Tuesday nite activities. Ugh! So that is at least 3 more trips out into the cold.

Also I think I made a HUGH mistake spraying the oven cleaner in the house. I am dieing with the smell, and I sure as double hockey sticks not opening the door. I am FREEZING already.

But I am tired of not being able to use the oven. But using in present condition sets off every bells & whistles in the joint. (Remind me to thank who ever got whatever all over the inside. *sigh*) I was almost half tempted to throw the whole thing out and go buy a new stove/oven. I want one with a self-cleaning oven. *shrug* But not sure how well they really work. All I know is I am still way to ill and have a hard enough time getting from point A to B. Without trying to bend over and stick half my body in the oven to clean it out. Maybe just turning on the gas while in there is a better idea. LOL.

I should be doing lots of things right now. But I sit. Really all I do anymore if I can. Again .. SON .. he certainly keeps me hopping. Even though the Dr's really recommend I stay my bum in and rest. What can I do? Hopefully DH will get this new shift he applied for at work, or change jobs/careers soon. He id file under emergency family illness. All my Dr.'s wrote letters on his behalf stating it would be in the best interest of the household if he could take a day shift so he can take of minor child as mother is not able to, and really needs to be hospitalized. So we will see.

I am almost finished with a baby afghan I am making for my sisters upcoming shower. Ah! Yes! Miss I do not hold a job, can not keep my legs shut, I got to keep popping out babies in hopes their daddy will leave his wife has struck again. Baby #3 is fast approaching. I said least it was another girl and she already has plenty of baby & girl things. Ha! She keeps nadda. Has nadda. *rolling eyes*

Next topic that one drives me insane and I start mouthing off. Actually I am going to stop here. I am coughing like crazy from the fumes from oven cleaner so guess I am going to have to air house out.

Later ...

MIA

Without Internet at home I really have been lacking on the posting of the blog. Which I miss. :(

I never really blogged for others, but to keep update and remember the who's, whats, whens of our busy household life. Now I am missing great chunks of life. Though I guess winter months there isn't a lot of things cookin at the Baseball Clubhouse. (LOL) When I do make it to Internet access. I have let Farmville on Facebook consume all my time. Guess there is worse things to be addicted to. (LOL)

So I am going to try to at least catch up then post at least once a week.

Mini catch up would be ..

Health - not improved. Couple more surgeries, MIA surgeon

Catcher Dude - High School, training harder than ever, 48 more days until HS baseball tryouts, almost completed TKD training.

Catcher Dude Dad - Still working long hours, completed school, looking for new job, still PITA

Until I can compose my total thoughts and in the great words of Porky Pig ..

"The Th Th That's All Folks!"

It's Here .....

High School!! I just can not believe it!! It just seems so unreal. Just seems like yesterday I was giving birth to him. Now I am sending him off to high school. Which only means I will *blink* and off to college he will be. *sigh*

He didn't *blink* an eye as he set out to walk a block to catch the bus. (Side note: Why can a High School bus not come any closer? I wondered that last year, and now that he has to walk it, I wonder it more even now. There are plenty a couple more on the street it could pick up so I am clueless on the stops so far away.)

So now he leaves everyday @ 6:30 and I will not see him until ??? Guess we play that one by ear. The bus leaves school @ 5:30. So I will guess-ta-mate 6-6:30??? Almost 12 hours. man adjusting I will have to do. This mama is not use to that.

Another odd ball thing (least to me) his lunch hour changes as well. M,TH,F one time. T & W another. WEIRD!!

Photobucket

So much has happen around here since I departed early July. I will have to update all later on that.

I know I still owe Farmer's Wife a vlog. I am going to have to juggle that one as we disconnected the internet from the house. So no I have not forgotten you FW, just trying to figure how to get that done for you.

I have much more to ramble on about but time is short.

Happy Thursday!!

Happy Saturday!!

Well there has been no baseball and I still can not seem to come do any updates. Y/day catcherdude & I stole some fun time away. I took him to the amusement park. We only spent half a day there. But that was enough for me. It was fun hanging out with my teen and not having the famous "teen attitude" LOL. Though I sat more than I rode. It was HOT, oh Sh!t Hot. But it was fun. Then end of the night we were riding this one roller coaster over and over and had the whole train to ourselves. LOL. It was fun to just hang out and not be at baseball or him having this I have to act a certain way because I am a teenager butt. LOL

He even thanked me several times for bring him. :) It is even nicer to put up with unbearable conditions when you are appreciated and thanked without prompting. :)

Some how I do not believe the day will go as nice July 6 when I take my mother, niece, son, and a friend of his, all day. But we will see. Nice thing we got a room at the hotel next to the park. Mom or niece get out of hand I will banish them to their room. LOL.

Well looks like Catcherdude make plans to go back today so I need to boggie on outta here.

Happy Saturday!!

CONTINUED .. No time to Post

Seriously! Just when I have time to continue a post. (click title to see which post this continues from) I am already behind again. Summer has kicked in full gear. We have not seen 80's in days now. (well maybe in middle night, doesn;t count) So to catch up as much as I can.

I WON ... I WON .. The cool Estee Lauder bag I was trying to win @ Farmers Wife's Blog. I am so excited!! I really do not win things. So this is ubber scubber exciting for me. PLUS I promised FW that if I should win, I would make a vlog when it arrives. So stay tuned for that. :) Because I do make good on threats promises.

Catcherdude got himself a stalker .. or so it seems to him. ROFL. There is a girl that basically he has grown up with. They have actually known each other since they were weeks old. Meeting first time on Mother's Day 1995. Up until the age 5 they were together all the time. After that we each bought houses on other side of town. So as time went on they seen less and less. So last Thursday we stopped by to see them we were in the neighborhood. It has been a couple years since really seeing each other. Well ... guess Miss E thinks Mister C is one hot HOTTY!! She has not stopped calling him, txting, facebooking (?? is that the term?) him.

CD doesn't know how to handle this. He seriously isn't looking for a gf. He has always liked her. He use to say they would be married. *giggle* But baseball now is his passion. He really hates we stopped in now. As he is afraid he will loss a good friend. Meanwhile .. *ding song* (sound of his phone going off for txt) never stops.

TG!! Her and her family is in & out of town with several vacations this summer. But she did get him nailed down to 4 different times to get together. Twice being his games. LOL. He has NEVER brought a GIRL to a game. Oh ... it has started. My High School er is being stalked chased.

Then of course there is the topic that keeps me jumping all the time. The topic that I can ramble and ramble and still not really rambled on enough. LOL. Baseball. I was just looking at the calendar and believe it or not we are on the backside of season being almost completed.

He is actually not doing half bad. But there is much to improve on. Especially with High School Try-outs just around the corner. He better get to steppin' it up.

The heat right now is really testing him. They played Sunday in a tournament. Games were at 8 & Noon. When the started it was already H-O-T. By the noon game well over the 90 mark. Then you add heat index and humidity. Oy!! He actually caught the entire time of both games, all 16. 1 game was 7 innings. With the other going into 9 innings. They were tied at end of game minutes. So they went to this dumb a** thing to break the tie. Last Batted out goes to second. Continue with line up. Play until someone scores. What a PITA!!

Tonight's game is cancelled due to heat. Boy I bet the pros wish they could call their game on the account of heat. *rolling eyes* But I am sure it is for the best, though what is that really teaching the kids? *shrug*

Well I should move. I have plenty to get done. Catcherdude is out mowing now and it is already HOT! Hot! HOT! But he is keeping cool by frozen rags and powerade. But I still better go check on him.

Happy Tuesday!!
