1.1.13 New Year

I am adjust this post on a blog I read today. Below is the post :

===================
When setting goals, there are a few things that we need to look at and really dissect in order to create SMART GOALS to achieve. They are as follows:

Specific

The first term stresses the need for a specific goal over and against a more general one. This means the goal is clear and to the point. “I want to read 1 new book a month” Notice how it is not generalized as “I want to read more.”

Measurable

The second term stresses the need for concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of the goal. The thought behind this is that if a goal is not measurable, it is not possible to know if I am making progress toward successful completion. For example our goal may be to eat more “clean” or follow a Paleo diet more strictly. How are we going to do this? Lets start with recording what we eat in a food journal on a daily basis. This way we can see where we stand at the end of each day.

Attainable

The third term stresses the importance of goals that are realistic and attainable. I would love to have a 400-pound bench press by the end of next year but is it going to happen given my current 1RM right now? Chances are slim. We need to make sure that our goals are not too far out of reach, I like to dream big but a more realistic goal would be achieve a bench press of 350 pounds.

Relevant

The fourth term stresses the importance of choosing goals that matter. Max’s goal to eat 5 power bars in 5 minutes may be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, and Time-Bound, but lacks Relevance. Set a goal that really lights a fire under you’re ass, something that you will feel proud of accomplishing, not sick to you’re stomach.

Time-bound

The fifth term stresses the importance of grounding goals within a time frame, giving them a target date. A commitment to a deadline helps you stay more focused on the task at hand. “I will lose 10 pounds by June 1st.” By giving yourself a specific date to achieve this goal, you will take the necessary steps in order to achieve this by then or even before.

===================

Now I am adjust this. RED new part.

I gave up long ago with the "New Year's Resolutions" thing. I though this year I would go with a look back, forward, and make a TO DO LIST, you know things I would hope to accomplish 364 days from now.

Starting with look back

I am so grateful for this past year...

- for so much time with our son.
- for so much quality time with amazing family.
- for my mom being here.
- for the health insurance coverage we have to help off set some of all the bumps and bruises we had along the way.
- for the opportunity to be able to go on what little vacations (though baseball related) we did.
- for new friends.
- for good health.
- for the 40+ pounds I was able to leave behind
- Kicking my Soda Habit

Moving on to looking forward

Things that though might be silly I am really excited about in 2013...

- Celebrating twentieth year of marriage.
- Son turns 18.
- Son graduating High School.
- Reconnecting with friends.
- Two week Vacation (that is NOT sports related)
- Seeing old classmate I haven't seen in years.

Now the TO DO LIST

- Increase Water intake (by 16 oz. a day)
- continue on with the remaining weight loss (of at least 10 pounds By May 1, 2013)
- maintain the loss
- learn something new. (I haven't decided this one yet. I will update when I think of something.)
- Lower Cholesterol
- take more photos.(possibly a class or two.) (resume my #365 blog)
- read more books. (Read at least 1 book a month)
- complain less.
- spend more time with the husband. (Date night at least once a month)
- stop letting the small stuff over come me.

What about you?
What things are you looking forward to?
What's on your 2013 TO DO LIST??

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

What a perfect day/holiday to be reminded of how blessed we really are. So, I thought I would share ten things I am thankful for this year.

1. My awesome husband.
2. Our 17 year old son.
3. Our warm in the winter, cool in the summer home.
4. Family
5. The Health myself and family.
6. To been able to be a stay at home mom all these years.
7. Husband job.
8. 17 finally healing after last couple rough years
9.  Pantry and Fridge filled with food.
10. The Internet and Social Media Sites that bring so many of my friends so close to me.

*Bonus* The weight loss I have been able to manage this year.

What are you most thankful for this year?

------------

This is an odd Thanksgiving this year. 17 doesn't have to work. Husband and 17 are going to play golf. Then we will be eating a small dinner together. Just the 3 of us.

SNOWPOCALYPSE 2011

... or so they were saying at first. When this was first brewing about they were comparing it to the ice storm of 2006. HERE

Well that was enough to send me into full panic mode. I know people can not even grasp that. I get that. But for Flip-Flop sakes do not make fun or make it seem like I have irrational fears. If you were not here, if you do not know what it is like to hear the crackling of tree branches, and then the deafening sound of it hitting the ground, to not know where it hit. To be sleeping and you awake again to those sounds, though this time it hits your house and you just know it has broken through that time. To walk outside and almost get shot from a gun happy neighbor to look at your house and in the moonlight swear the limb is in your son's room. Right where he his sleeping. Yeah! Ice storms will scare the living hell out of you.

But yes, we did have ice again. But they were on top of it. It didn't get as bad as they thought. Monday they early dismissed the kids from school. That was about when the rain/sleet/ice started coming. Tuesday there was No school. It was supposed to change over from the major ice storm to 6"-13" of snow by 6 a.m. We did get snow, but not what they thought. Even CDD's company closed, but they had to use a day (don't get me started on that rant) if they want to be paid. They closed school again for today. Today just a few flakes here and there. The wind is blowing lots.

Now to try and find the driveway. *sigh* Had CDD had more days to blow I would have had him stay here. Fluck! This! Sh!t! Really none of us need to be doing it. CDD with his weight & heart, CD with his broken finger, and me with my drain. Not a good mix in the house.

So that is what is going on around here. I am sure there will be school tomorrow. But if I do not have the car & driveway unburied CD will probably not go, and I will fight with school about not marking him absent. Because of course had they taken the steps to make sure CD was safe, and let A$$clown break his finger he could ride his bus, but oh what is this I read, no riding buses Dr's orders. So either a Principal can drag their a$$ here to pick him up, send a cab, or not mark absent. Their choice. :)

Also today is Ground Hog Day ..

So according to Punxsutawney Phil, Spring will come early this year. I hope so. I really do. I am not complaining. We have not had snow, and a good amount of it, for years. But I think I am at my done point. It is fun to have extra days off here and there, and it has helped a lot in CD's recovery. Seems like a Snow Day came just when we needed it on a couple occasions. But this is enough. Time to get these kids in school back to full-time. So we can have a summer break.

The Catcher's Report

The Catcher's Report
January Catch-up

So life has been so busy, I have been to lazy to haven't even had the time to write. So a quick jog thru and then I am off to play farmville catch on things I am behind here at the house ...

1/10 - I returned to my surgeon & though he says I have a clean bill of health and was ready to remove the drain. I declined. Not having the time, nor patience, nor funds at this time, decided F-- it! I am leaving it in. Doesn't hurt anything. He even said more time could not hurt. So I intend to leave in. My goal is next March. (2012) So that is that. When I am ready for drain to remove, I am to call.

1/11 -
I wrote about that day already. Here.

1/13 - 18th Wedding Anniversary. Dakota's 11th Birthday. I already covered that day. Here.

1/17 - No School. MLK Day.

1/18 - I finally picked out my new phone. I went with the Sony Xperia. It is like CD's but after all the back and forth. I just picked. CD had school then his usual Tuesday night gig. Catching from 5-9. The Tuesdays he has Personal Fitness @ school, makes for a rough night of catching. Since he can not work on his arms. (Thanks a$$clown!) He does all lower body workouts. (Now that baseball workouts have started, Tuesdays are weight room after school. So he will go straight from P.F. to the workouts again. *ouch*) Also ..CD has been complaining A LOT about pain coming from cast. So after much complaining I call his surgeon, they got him in 19th.

1/19 - New phone? Yeah! Took it back. I didn't like how it sounded. All the playing with CD's .. I never talked on the D*mn thing. So I exchanged it for the Flight II. Plus saving on the Smart Phone cost. I just couldn't stomach the cost. Not with all CD's and my medical bills pouring in. Oh! Well!

I also pulled CD out of school early as he is just uncomfortable. I took him to surgeon after a quick conversation cast came off, x-ray taken, pins came out. The pins had worn out the padding, and they were jabbing into ring finger. One cap had even came off in the process as well. The Dr. did tell him he can now do NOTHING. No more some weights. No more catching. No contact. No ball sports. Nadda. Until next appt. The finger is still very FRAGILE, and it could easily break again. :(
(oh yeah that made for a worse attitude .. THANKS AGAIN A$$CLOWN!!)

So after all that was said and done, they shipped us off downstairs to start therapy and get a splint made. At first he was annoyed he was going back into a constraint, he was overjoyed to learn he could remove to shower. That is a major PLUS. He was tired of showering in swim trucks while one of us helped him shower. That sucked for all parties. But now he can remove this to shower and do his therapy.

Now comes the real $$ eater. As CDD's insurance will not cover any therapy. Thanks BCBS .. THANK YOU A$$CLOWN!! The Dr's office is trying to get that over turned as it is a NEED not a, "oh I have a little twisted back, ankle, etc .."

So we will see .. have fun Wash U.

1/20 - I will say if we have had any luck with this whole nightmare the snow days and Christmas Break timing has worked in our favor.
When A$$clown broke it, the next day snow day. So he didn't have to go back in pain, less than 24 hours since happen. When had to have surgery on Christmas Break, and though it was ruined, he didn't have to worry about getting back right away or missing school. Now this day, just had cast off, getting used to splint, plus 1 less day he has to be put in a dangerous situations where a "what if" or "could be" or A$$clowns attack II.

This is the most snow we have had in a very long time. We got over 12" over night and into the day. CD doesn't recall having this much snow before. Of course he couldn't enjoy it how he would have liked (Thanks ;) again a$$clown) sledding & shoveling for $$. *shrug* whatyagunnado?

Oh the New Flight phone? Yeah, I hated it. So returned that, and now I am back to the broken Impression. I think I will just do the insurance claim and say f-- it! I have never had such a hard time with phones. Probably more going on then phones. Just sayin ..

1/21 - I can not say I was disappointed that CD would now have 4 days to heal more without cast protecting that finger. He is just safer. Plus .. he is still getting to study for the finals he was to take back on Dec 20 & 21. Talk about luck. Ha! He was more excited than CDD & I. :) CD pointed out that he has not had a full week of school since the week of Dec 6-10. That is insane. Maybe next week. They are calling for another storm coming through Sunday night and predicting schools might have to cancel again. Now at this rate they will be going to school in June. Blah!

-----

That is about it. All wrapped up in a quick run down. Just still trying to muddle through and come out on the other side with as little battle scars as possible.

Here's to the New ...

2011 Rings in ..

We didn't end the year any special way. Just us. The 3 of us. At home. Quiet. When it is all said and done it always just comes back to the 3 ..

Catcherdude and I did go visited my mom & step dad for a short time. The husband just really wanted to stay in and watch hockey game. I wanted back home before the crazy drivers hit the roads. Plus Catcherdude wasn't feeling the being out of the house and around people thing.

I gave up long ago with the "New Year's Resolutions" thing. I though this year I would go with a look back, forward, and make a TO DO LIST, you know things I would hope to accomplish 364 days from now.

Starting with look back

I am so grateful for last year...

- for so much time with our son.
- for making the final payment on our car.
- for so much quality time with amazing family.
- for being able to paid off hospital bills for 2008-09.
- for my mom being here.
- for the health insurance coverage we have to help off set some of all the bumps & bruises we had along the way.
- for Catcherdude making his dream of playing HS baseball happening.
- for the new digital camera my family made sacrifices to let me have.
- for son making it through his first year of High School with little damage.
- for the opportunity to be able to go on what little vacations (though baseball related)we did.
- for new friends.
- for good health.

Moving on to looking forward

Things that though might be silly I am really excited about in 2011...

- Celebrating seventeenth anniversary.
- Catcherdude turns 16.
- Hopefully watching Catcherdude return to the baseball fields.
- Reconnecting with friends.
- Paying off medical bills AGAIN.

Now the TO DO LIST

- Reduce the amounts of soda every day.
- cook more.
- learn something new. (I haven't decided this one yet. I will update when I think of something.)
- take more photos.(possibly a class or two.)
- complain less.
- spend more time with the husband.
- stop letting the small stuff over come me.

What about you?

Here we go again ..

My issue I had that started back in August 2008 is back. Oh Joy!! Yep! I woke up yesterday morning with that wonderful feeling .. there it was .. abscess is back. YES! The one I had operated on before. Dec 18, 2008 then again in March 2009, and yet again Dec 2009.

I have an appointment Thursday to see the Dr. So I know where I will yet again spend my holidays. Having surgery and laying in bed. Yep! Wonder if he offers a Buy 3 get 1 Free deal? We just got done paying off all those medical bills. *sigh*

I am glad I got everything in order before Thanksgiving. That is the only plus side. But I have a feeling the DR will not be enjoying his holidays. After husband and teen get done bitching. Had it not been the holiday season I would be finding a new surgeon. I am so tired of this not being over. Guess this is what will be my new holiday tradition .. Having surgury every Decemeber right before Christmas.

Yep! Sounds like a wonderful idea.

The Catcher's Report ~Sunday Edition~

The Catcher's Report
~Sunday Edition~

Been so busy I couldn't even manage to get a check-in done on Friday. lol. I spent most of all my week going from store to store. Mall to Mall. Helping my mother try to find an electric blanket for her bed. So far it has been a fail. Though I did score a new tree skirt and new snowman. LOL

I am looking forward to the 4 day weekend. At a last minute decision I am having my mother and her husband over for Thanksgiving. I had already shopped for 3. So they are picking up a bird, more rolls, and drinks and we are set.

Last week I mentioned that CD was running in his first Non-School related race of the season. Of course the nice temps we were having ended that day, and it was really chilly out there. CD was actually worried as it was supposed to rain the night before (Fri) and it makes for harder running areas. But it DRY, thank goodness. But the wind and temps were not cooperative. lol. Also it was a nice surprise that 3 of his fellow XC team mates showed up and ran as well. He came in First in his age group (15-19) with a time of 20:34. The best time he has had at this course. He ran this same race last year and took First in his age group then as well, with a time of 23:51. The other 3 boys from school/XC also meddled.

* Boy #1 FIRST PLACE OVERALL MALE with a 18:10 time
* Boy #2 THIRD PLACE OVERALL MALE with a 18:34 time
* BoY #3 FIRST PLACE MEN 15-19 with a 20:34 time
* Boy #4 SECOND PLACE MEN 15-19 with a 20:37 time

I am not sure if they are going to run again together. The coach decided this week they were going to have practice once a week through the winter. Yeh, I want to see them boys out there in the cold & snow. I bet it doesn't happen. lol

Well like I said been very busy. But nothing really worth mentioning. I am sure another busy week ahead. I am trying to get some head way to the house. Not a big clean freak. But there are some out of normal things I would like to tend to.

So with that ..

Happy Thanksgiving! In case I do not return before Thursday.

The Catcher Report

The Catcher Report

Wow! Another Friday here, and what a beautiful one it is!! The weather lately has been great. Been in upper 70's. Not the normal for November, but great none the less. Haven't needed the POS heat we have installed now. FYI - 98% energy efficient means .. you freeze IMO.

This past week has been insane! Insane!! I would have never booked our weeks like this. But leave it up to Catcherdude to be in charge and he has us running around like crazy! There is no room for error. To get his community service hours in and over he choose to manage the girls V Basketball team. But this means him once again getting home at 5:30. To turn around and be at the cages by 6, to not get back home until some where between 8-9. To go to bed, to turn around and do it all over again.

Though already a snag was hit, and he is in a scheduling snag foo. He was under assumption the games were after school, umm nope mostly 7-8 in evening. So that BIG time interferes with catching the pitchers. Plus they are close to getting rid of the other kid that does it, and if that happens, CD is all they have and he has to fill those slots to.

All I can say .. GOOD LUCK CD! lol.

CD is running in a race on Saturday. XC ends and he still is running. But I am almost betting he doesn't sign up for more as time is not his friend right now.

To add to mixture CDD has hit that time of year when his hours bounce all over the board. On days, nights, splits, oy! Because as every year their boss lets to many people off and then has to fill in gaps. Here is an idea .. all vacation must be in and used before Oct 31. Yeh, I say that cuz he can't ever use any during holidays as others get top choice. lol. He was off yesterday so he could go to the Predators game with CD. But today & Monday he is working 5a-3:30p. To then turn around and work normal shift T-TH.

As the year end draws closer I am not sure how much I will be around. It is crazy busy already and haven't hit the holidays. Though I am ready to start pulling out all the decorations. lol. Yeah I know. I have a post I made about this subject I need to finish up. We also have trips coming up as well. No School Days. Why did I do this? Oh that is right. I have a teenager. lol.

EOM Catcher Report

End of Month Catcher Report

First Happy "Almost" Halloween!!

Time just passes so fast anymore. I know I say this almost every month, "I cannot believe the month is over." But I really cannot. So to wrap up October's last Catcher Report ..

Cross Country

Last Saturday (23rd) The top 14 ran in Districts. They ended up taking fourth place as a team and qualified for Sectionals. So there was one more week of practices and would have another meet. Of course! Catcher dude woke up ill and even though I tried to get him to just skip it he insisted. His time was not great. He finished 14th, with a time of 22:07. This course he had not run yet this year so nothing to compare. Except, I know he was sick and should have S-T-O-P.

Today (30th) Instead of top 14 only 11 ran in Sectionals. 1 was hurt & 3 quit as it was conflicting with other things. CD's personal record at this course is 21:34, he ran it today in 21:10 so he beat is PR at this course. The team did not come in top 4 so the season is over. I runner qualified for State which is next Saturday. We wish him all the best!!

So CD ends his Sophomore year of Cross Country. Ending on a pretty good note. Now time to move onto ...
Baseball

Now that XC is completed he will be in full swing (excuse the pun) baseball mode. High School hitting on Mondays. Batting lessons Monday. Catching Pitchers Tuesday. Plus working on speed, strength, conditioning and agility on Wed & Thursday. Baseball practices will start here soon & I am just not sure where he will fit that into his already busy/packed schedule.

Other news around here ..

Monday they are finally coming to hook up the furnace so if I choose to have heat I can. :) It only took me 2 months to remember to actually call to make appointment. They had said to call in Sept, yeah whatev had other sh!t going on.

I am hoping to get everyone well and flu shots in us all soon. I am tired of all the sniffing and sneezing crap we have had lately. A good Frost/Freeze would be nice, but I am NOT ready for winter. We had such a nice fall. Hardly any rain. Temps above normal. Just really nice. Okay well tomorrow will wrap up October.

Halloween will be over and Daylight savings just around the bend and then only 55 more days until Christmas so it is time to start preparing!!

I think for the most part I am done with shopping. I might be nice and expand beyond just Catcherdude and get something for nieces. But we will see.

Everyone have a nice, safe HALLOWEEN.

Nine Eleven, XC

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Nine years later... I still dread this day. I really wonder if there will come a year this date will get easier? I still just freeze at that day. Images still burned in my brain. I guess it has got better, some. Though I still remember the horror look in my then 6 year olds eyes. The days following we glued ourselves to the TV, but yet didn't want them on. I think of all those lost mommies, daddies, children, friends, families, love ones, and so on.

Helps when there is actually something to occupy my thoughts. I try to stay away from the TV as it usually is over taken by recaps, memorials, etc..

You would have thought nine years later and we would be closer to closure on this. Probably will never happen.

~*~*~

I found a great way to keep my mind off of the date this morning.
Waking up 10 minutes before Catcher dudes bus was due to pull out of the parking lot at school for their away meet today. Fortunately for him he is loved and adored by the coach. The rule is if you are not there on time you are an automatic cut. Well he called and asked if there was anyway I could drive him out there. Coach didn't even pause, "Yep see you there." That child has way more than nine lives I swear.

Though we were only 10 minutes later than the bus. That was with us still getting dressed and running through a drive-thru. I turned a little over an hour drive into 35-40 minutes.

He did great again this week. Broke his PR again. Now he is down 21:30. There were even some boys that received medals today, but I was bad and left before the last race and awards.

~*~*~

Time to get on with this Saturday, even though already half over.

Labor Day & The Husband

Labor Day the last US holiday of the summer. For a lot of people, Labor Day means two things: a day off and the end of summer. In U.S. sports, Labor Day marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons. Labor Day is a day set aside to pay tribute to working men and women.

So keeping with that theme I thought I would mention someone I apparently never mention. Give him his own post. The husband. (Someone ask me a while back if it was just my son & I. They never heard mention of anyone else on my blog.)

Well I guess that is just an over site on my part. See the husband, Catcher dudes dad, he works A LOT! Not only does he work a lot. He works horrible hours. So when there is all the comings and goings going on around the house, he is not here. He can go 5 days some times and not see CD. He isn't at the games, unless he uses vacation time, I get to enjoy and take for granted. He doesn't get to go to Open Houses, School Functions, Banquets, Doctor appointments, etc.. All the things I seem to now take for granted. That wear me out to no end it seems, he misses. The Husband (CDD) probably has missed most of all firsts in this house.

But what he does do that we take for granted. Work 10 hour nights. Hard working labor as well, not a desk job. Travels 45 minutes each way. Works almost all the OT that is offered. Reducing again the time he sees his family. Why does he? For his family.

He will be the first to tell you when I got pregnant and announced I was not going back to work he hated the idea. The thought of being a 1 income family was not what he pictured (Though I warned him plenty of times before the I Do's & the stick turning two lines) But he didn't complain to much after a while. He worked 2 & 3 jobs sometimes. He has always done a lot to make the financial means in this household.

If you ask him now he will say though it has sucked at times he wouldn't change it. He is glad I decided we decided I stay home and care for the boy & all the other household business as his hours sure do not allow time for anything else but .. WORK & SLEEP.

So this Labor Day I thank my husband for all he has done for us.

Happy Valentine's Day

Though the date on the calendar reads .. Saturday February 14th, 2009. Though there is the writing of "Valentine's Day" on the square assigned to this date on the calendar. Putting all that on the side.

Today will be like any other day. Any other Saturday. You can't tell here in Baseballville, that it is any other day. Grocery shopping is on the list. Errands are on this list. TKD on the list. Baseball, of course, is on the list. LOL.

Just another day on the calendar. A calendar that never rests. LOL.

Hope everyone in bloggie land has the best day!!

Just another day, glad to be here

Well 16 years. We've made it to 16 years together. Well we really have been together 18 years. I can not believe it.

Now I would fill in here how much it sucks he is working tonight, we didn't do anything over the weekend. The day is coming and going and that is it. How horrible of a day. But I have ran into 2 past class mates, both men, in the last month. One is in the middle of a divorce of 10 year marriage. The other on his 3rd marriage in 17 years. Oy! The one guy was tell me how 2 others we knew had also divorced. Good Grief Charlie Brown. So I suppose it isn't all that bad. Actually DH brought up a fine point.

"Babe, Didn't you date all of those guys?"

Me thinking ... "Yeah, I guess I did."

"Hmm .. guess I was the lucky one"

That made my day. Guess they are the losers and even though I am once again without an anniversary date, I still have the date ticking away to another year. Guess there is always next year. Though I was thinking if we had time we might sneak away this weekend. If that is I am feeling up to being out, and baseball doesn't already have the calendar booked.

I really would like to go to my favorite restaurant. We have not been in a couple years and don't think my husband will think of it. Though I will be nice he did get up at 7:30 this morning after getting to bed after 2 a.m from work to take me to eat. But eating pancakes while trying to hold back the urge to throw up, due to the smell of smoke and coffee, doesn't scream romantic in my book. lol.

We will have to see.

Also today is Dakota's 9Th Birthday. I tried to get a decent picture of him today, but he was not having it. So this one will have to do. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAKOTA!!

Almost the end .. nothing to show

Well I am not sure where the time went. He had 18 days off and we are down to one last day. That is it! We did nadda! I am sure we had BIG plans. We always fill the days up and go where did they all go? Not this time. The days were filled with me laying in bed and catcher dude... well that is a very good question. I can not even really tell you what he did. There wasn't any complaining. Never said anything. But I still feel really bad.

I would love to take him to the movies tomorrow. There is all sorts out he wanted to see. But I just really do not think I could sit through a movie. There is always the never fail eating out. But that feels lame at this point. I will have to think about this and see what I can come up with. I almost bet he will give me his line, "That's okay. We don't have to do anything." But I know he is disappointed.

Dad dude is back to work tomorrow. Seems like even though he didn't have any vacation left he was here a lot over the holidays as well. But everything now is back to the grind. Catcher Dude cleaned, straighten, and re-stocked that backpack of his tonight. He did none of the reading over the holiday as he was supposed to. GREAT!

So that about sums up the 17 days ... wasted! All I can do now is hope for feeling better come his next break.

Hey! The more I really think about it I guess he really didn't sit around doing nothing the whole time. There was the hospital, Christmas Eve @ my moms, Christmas here, went to mall to shop, went to friends house, 2 day baseball camp, TKD here and there, weekend baseball camp, went with dad a few times.

.. so I guess it really wasn't a big wash. Guess it was more he and I didn't get to do, go, hang out. Okay! So I guess I don't feel as bad. LOL. Guess more mom feeling sorry for herself that her 18 day break was a waste. Al'right. So enough ramble!

2009 will get better. I know it!

Tick-Tock

This year is almost done. Let's cross our fingers for a better 2009. WoW! '09. Where does the time go? Seems like it was just December 31, 1999 and we were ringing in 2000. HA!

Well we of course are spending the night in. Dad dude got home from work. He actually worked days this week. So anyway he got home and then went on a munchie's run. Silly man thought stores were closed tomorrow, but they are open. Anyway. What did he bring home?

Well there is :

  • Toasted Ravioli
  • Mozzarella sticks
  • Stuff mushrooms (all mine of course)
  • Krab Dip
  • Kaukauna Port Wine Cheese
and for a special treat for Catcher Dude (because I feel bad for him stuck at home with parents) A $7 tub of Choc. Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

Plus he brough home cabbage, black eye'd peas, and ham. I am leaving no stone unturned for this years good fortune. lol.

That is our night. Actually there are some fireworks and snappers in my dresser I am thinking about slipping to CD. I am going to try and make it to midnight for the CD. So I am not taking pain meds yet. Though I might be dieing of pain here soon. lol.

New Year's Resolutions.

I have been thinking about this one. I seem to make them and they never stick. Then I was blog browsing as I do and came across this list, and I knew this was for me. I changed slightly to fit this household, and me. Time to use reverse psychology. That's right!! Thanks to this blogger. I am copying her idea on a fool-proof list of New Year's Resolutions.

  1. I will not lost weight. I will be sure to not lose a single pound this year. I will not eat healthier
  2. I will not drive kid to all his activities. No driving to and from practices, games, clinics, and private lessons. No TKD either.
  3. I will make sure I am never caught up on laundry. Let it pile up!!
  4. I will lose my temper with with hubby and kid on daily bases.
  5. I will procrastinate. Every chance I get.

So there it is. My New Year's Resolutions. See if I can screw this one up as I do every year, or for once in my life I can say I kept my New Years Resolution.

~*~* Happy 2009. To great health, wealth, and happiness this year. ~*~ *

Disappearing

All signs of the holidays. CD & CDD took down the lights today from the house. The weather was warm and soon to turn colder so CD thought it would be a good day to take all the outdoor decorations. :(

I love the decorations. It is my favorite part of the holiday season. The tree is still up so I can still sneak in late at night dragging blanket and pillow behind me and snuggle up in my favorite chair and click on the lights and lay and stare. I was totally not in the mood to put the stuff out this year. I really saw no sense. But the one thing that save me this past week was the tree. All the restless nights of not sleeping due to pain or uncomfortableness. I could sneak in and turn on the lights. Watch them. Falling back in and out of sleep. :) I will miss it. Though I bet if I sweet talked bribed catcher dude enough, he will put off taking the tree down for a while longer. lol. Might catch holy heck from CDD as he was told to take it down. lol. But I bet I can stall them for a tad longer. May? June? LOL.

I just don't think we get to enjoy the lights and decorations enough. I want more time. Maybe after Halloween next year? hmmm ...

Sunday this, that, venting all in one

So I am finally getting around to sharing some pictures from Christmas day. It was a nice day. Quiet. Actually my mother surprised me with a digital camera for my Anniversary. (I was very clear we would not be doing Christmas this year!) So she wrapped it up in wedding paper.

Catcher Dude got me a necklace. It is the most precious thing. I can not help but cry every time I read it.

Now Catcher dude .. he raked it in even though Christmas was suppose to be back burner. Mainly clothes. Gift Cards and money.

We had a nice day. No cooking, cleaning, yelling, fighting .. just quiet. We mainly just watched DVD's in bed all day. (Of course what else could I do?)

Tree before it was ransacked.

Catcher Dude opening gift.

What ever. I see 2009 is the year for us to COMPLETELY disagree.
(Mom will have finally say .. my house, my roof, my car that has to transport ya)

Finally putting together car he got 3-4 years ago.

Nothing really new today. I am just trying to stop being bored. I am still feeling like complete doo-doo. I called the Dr. office on Friday. What a waste of time. They were open. But the surgeon on call seeing patients had no clue about my type of surgery. The nurse on call knew nothing about it either. So they both wanted me to come in this week. BUT my Dr. is on vacation.

I am really getting annoyed. I still can not really sit, or stand the pain. I am supposed to drive kid to his baseball camp we bought him starting tomorrow. There is no way. So that money is down the drain!! DH is really pissed off'ed. DS is mad and disappointed.

I really messed up. I should have put my foot down and said NO! But I let this Dr. bully me. So that is the "great" update. I just try to stay out of every one's way. I seem to just make them more mad when I need help. So I just lay .. quiet and try to make no requests.

I tried to tidy up around here today. No one else is doing anything! I managed to crawl down the stairs to do some laundry. I was totally out of under clothes and towels. 3-4x day site baths can do that. That 'bout killed me. But DH is not here he left for the day. DS is sleeping and won't get up and help. As I said before my needing people and help has worn out it's welcome.

Catcher Dude and his clothes .. oy! I am the biggest "pick your battles" type person. But he HAS to find jeans that fit him. I hate the ones he is wearing. We have been 'round and 'round on this. He has to move out of the kids section for jeans, though really in waist he is not ready. The 14's are really to big in the waist, and really, really to short in the length. 16's are just a tad longer, but not enough and they swallow him in waist. Talk about saggin and belt Nada!! .. Oy!

So we tried taking him over to men's. The smallest I could find was 29x30. The length perfect! Waist .. oh boy, he will be suspended by first block. lol. The kid sizes are not long enough.

But what does he do yesterday? Bought the 28 x 30. Sigh! I am so mad I could spit! He gets suspended and he will NOT be playing ball. PERIOD! I could care less about what dad and him say. I am the driver. (Well if I can ever drive again. lol)

Let's see what else?? Hmm .. well I guess that is about it for my hodge podge of news and vents.
