8182012

Wow! It is already Saturday again. This week rolled on through. Though that is a good thing. Teens week went well. A little bump in the road with parking, but as I suspected all squared away by yesterday. :)

Teen really liked getting out early Friday so he and dad could golf. Golfing now. Hey! What ever floats your boat. They are actually out again today golfing, so I have a nice and quiet day. One class he is taking is Home Repair and Maintenance. That will come in handy. :) Today for a matter of fact he replaced the spot light on garage and replaced a light switch. You go on with your bad self.

I have still been doing well with eating and exercise. Though my mom had me out eating way more than I like. (Well I like it, don't get me wrong, but not sure help with weight loss) I managed to walk 3 out of the 5 days this week. So that was a PLUS. Tomorrow is weigh in. I didn't drink as much as the Fat Flush water (I hate that name I may rename that .. lol) this week but I still did drink it.

I am proud I am still soda free. I have been ordering water when out. Haven't had the Kool-aid, crystal light, nadda, in the house. Either the FFW or Plain water for me. :) I am very proud of that.

So this past week goals were:
  • Walk at least 3 times this week.
  • Drink Fat Flush water 4x
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. soda Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office some more
  • Clean out hall closet
  • Work on washing the hoodies I have left all summer.
  • Work on ScrapBook on MixBooks

Goals for this week. I think I will just keep continuing on with the same ones, and add a couple new ones.

  • Walk at least 4 times this week.
  • Drink Fat Flush water 4x
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. soda Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office some more
  • Clean out hall closet
  • Scrub Bathroom Down

So we will see. My mother is going back to Dr. on Wednesday to see when they will be scheduling her surgery. So Plans might get all whacked out of place. So we will have to see.

Until later ..

It's Here .....

High School!! I just can not believe it!! It just seems so unreal. Just seems like yesterday I was giving birth to him. Now I am sending him off to high school. Which only means I will *blink* and off to college he will be. *sigh*

He didn't *blink* an eye as he set out to walk a block to catch the bus. (Side note: Why can a High School bus not come any closer? I wondered that last year, and now that he has to walk it, I wonder it more even now. There are plenty a couple more on the street it could pick up so I am clueless on the stops so far away.)

So now he leaves everyday @ 6:30 and I will not see him until ??? Guess we play that one by ear. The bus leaves school @ 5:30. So I will guess-ta-mate 6-6:30??? Almost 12 hours. man adjusting I will have to do. This mama is not use to that.

Another odd ball thing (least to me) his lunch hour changes as well. M,TH,F one time. T & W another. WEIRD!!

Photobucket

So much has happen around here since I departed early July. I will have to update all later on that.

I know I still owe Farmer's Wife a vlog. I am going to have to juggle that one as we disconnected the internet from the house. So no I have not forgotten you FW, just trying to figure how to get that done for you.

I have much more to ramble on about but time is short.

Happy Thursday!!

Monday catch up

Well weekend was a wash. Today was a wash. Of course it is still raining again. Baseball practice washed out. So Catcher Dude went to teach classes at TKD. We certainly let this day slide through our fingers. We had big plans for the day too. We were going to see a movie. Go buy swim trucks that Catcher Dude will need wants this weekend. Go have lunch. There were many things on the plate. But what did we do?

Slept the entire day away. I got up took dad dude to school, and came back. I told catcher dude he needed to get up. He couldn't sleep the day way. He would not sleep tonight. Well I told him all this. Told him he had 10 minutes, then get up, shower, and start the day. Yeah! That was at 9 a.m. Next thing I know my cell is ringing. It is 1:30 p.m. YIKES!!

Oh well. What can you do about? Just move on.

I did take lil shit catcher dude Saturday to buy swimming trucks. He had a gift card in his wallet that he had not used from Christmas.

Me: "Did you call to check balance?"
CD: "I don't need to, I have not used it."
Me: "Okay, but you will need to hurry. I am still not feeling up to being out."

After a long time. He finally found some that fit. I am really tired of these stores and the sizes not fitting him. Go back to Target and Wal-Mart. For crying out loud!! So he decides he is going to spend the whole card. He got the swim trucks, a pair of shorts, and a hat (WTF? Another one?) Anyway we get to check out ..

He swipes his card. Balance due $48. Um, what? There was only 9 and some change on that card. I was livid. But more embarrassed than anything. It took the forever!! To get his card re-charged. They finally realized they could not credit back under $10 to gift card. The line backed up forever! I was in so much pain!! What a nightmare. They finally gave him a store credit and I got the hell out dodge.

Just for not calling .. I should NOT see he gets any trucks for the weekend. Besides, are they there to swim or play ball? Just saying .. just saying ..

So chalk it up to yet another time you should not listen to a teenager!! LOL

Weekend closing up

Well yet another weekend comes to a close. As usual it was a busy one. Friday I went up to school. All was good until 8th grade lunch and then I wanted to strangle them!! UGH! They thought that lines, order, and keeping hands to thy self was above them. So I closed up shop. I can not handle unruly children. Just can not deal. They were pushing, shoving, and grabbing. Forget it! Not worth it. Two shit heads darling brats kids thought grabbing the money would be fuckin funny as all get out. So not letting that set the mood for the rest of the day I shook it off. DH finally got around to getting rid of the leaves again! Man I do not know what the deal is this year and still in January having piles of leaves still.
WAIT, well I DO! The people next door to us up and moved out and do not come and care and up keep their property! So their leaves are blowing over here. We can not get rid of the leaves. Just as you clean up your yard, more of theirs comes knocking! UGH!!

Friday nights are now consumed with baseball workouts & practice. So that was our Friday evening. 45 minute drive there. 2 Hour practice. 45 minute drive home. After practice this week we went and had pizza, but I do not care for this smokey place so we will not make a practice of that. But FIL works there and DH thought it would be nice to stop in for a visit since we were in the neighbourhood.

Saturday we went for a drive. Went to see Eagles. It was a fun trip. But cold, cold, cold. We found the river was frozen. So Catcher dude got to walk on the water. (Seemed fitting as he thinks he's god and all ..LOL) We stopped and ate at a nice lil place. They had these fish tanks at all the tables. It was fun to watch them while waiting on the food. I had the catfish and it was way more than I could finish. The boys had chicken. Then we loaded back up and headed back home. It was really cold, and proably would have been a better trip to take in the spring when a tad bit warmer. It was nice spending time with the family, but the boys were bored most of the trip. But tough for them! They owe me. LOL!!
(Eagle Catcher Dude snapped this picture)

(Eagle floating down river on ice chunk)

Today was of course just like any other Sunday. Started with DH leaving early for bowling league, and catcher Dude tagging along. Then home for a quick change for CD, as today his private catching lessons start. 45 minute drive there. 1 hour lesson. 45 minute drive back. Yah! This was my first and last time going. I will stay home and leave that trip to DH from now on.

Now it is time to start wrapping up the weekend and getting everyone ready for the school/work week. sigh ... weekends are not long enough!!

Thursday already?

This week has flown by. But I guess when there is No School on Monday, you have to go retrieve son from school on Tuesday and take them to DR, to not return to school until Thursday. Yeah, your week will tend to fly by.

(artwork by catcher dude) Last week I mentioned sons Art work in this post and Gary suggested I post some. So today is the first picture I am sharing.

Rest of this week probably will be quiet. (You realize me just saying that probably caused all H-E-double hockey sticks to break out? LOL) They are testing the rest of this week at school, and on Monday and Tuesday of next. So nice of them to tell the parents this. I got an email at 8:40 this morning. Ugh! Communication bites! this year! at our middle school. I am not sure why? Had no problems last year. Since CD is not feeling well he will be home bond a couple more days. We were also told at the last minute about changes that are occurring at the high school for next. Now you would think this would be a very important fact for those coming in next year. So why they didn't think we needed to know is beyond me.

I should be getting dressed and heading out. But I am really not in the mood to deal with school today. I really am annoyed. So I am just skip the volunteer thing today. Though who suffers more in this? So I am not sure. I might go. But that would require stop typing and getting dressed and walking out the door in 15 minutes. So hmmm .. I am not sure. Probably not!

Well this daily update is just not producing anything of interest. Guess I (for a change) have nothing to say.

Ramblings of me

So I have a Hodge podge of things tonight. First being that CD mentioned I never posted a picture of the necklace [discussed here] he bought me for Christmas like I said I would. [side note: it does not say I would post a picture in that post, but we are here to please CD don'tcha know ..lol]

So it was hard to photograph this IMO but here it is sort of. Can't really read the words so I will just type them out.

"A Mother holds her child's hand for a short while but their heart forever."

He is such a sweetie when he wants to be. Darn those teenage hormones. Which I am sure now I will be in trouble for the "sweetie" remark.

Oh Well. Since I am already stepping in it tonight, let's discuss the instructors CD employs now. Umm why are they all such buff, built, hotties? How is a mother to concentrate on her kid? Are there no so-so, not off the radar instructor's? I am trying to listen to them talk and all I can concentrate on is the muscles, butts, and.. well you get the picture. His instructors in the past were just instructors. Plain John, run of the mill, kids.

CD started his 8 weeks private lessons tonight. My jaw dropped when this instructor walked out and introduced himself. I was all a flutter tonight trying to listen to what he saying. My mind would wander and I would have to pull it back in. LISTEN! dad dude will quiz you later and all you can think of is those arms, legs, bum. LOL. Oy! This will be a long 8 weeks. Plus the instructor on Saturdays. *sigh*

I think I will have to pick the next one. Skills? Ability? Nah! Has to be a plain John. Older. Beer belly. Yah! That is it. rofl.

Not sure what my odds that in a couple weeks the instructors he hired for Tuesdays & Fridays are going to fit these guide lines? He has had other instructors that managed to stay under the wire. So where are they? lol. This is going to be a long winter until spring gets here and we are through with these instructors if they all look like Monday & Saturday guys.

Enough on that topic. I am sure CD will have a thing or two, three to say about me going on about his instructors. Oh well .. get outta momma's blog!

Onto School. So tomorrow is it! School is back. These days have just flown. I wish it was longer. They are calling for bad weather so we might luck in another day. We will have to see.

I have still not healed enough to get around enough to return to volunteering up at school. The treasurer didn't contact me during the break about sending me a check [and I reminded her twice before school let out on the 18th], so I am not even going to worry about it.

I think I am done!! This year has been one struggle after another. I give! I am the only one the seems to break their butt getting that snack cart open daily. Which I don't mind if the funds are available without harping and hassles.

Also when I was elected Secretary of PTA at the end of last school year I told them I was not sure how long I would be able to attend meetings. Now here we are in January and baseball practices have started. They landed on Tuesdays & Fridays. So PTA meetings being on Tuesdays is a problem now. So I think I will just step down from my positions on the board. Let someone else have the headaches. But we will see. Once school is back in session maybe she will send a check home with Catcher Dude. But I just don't see how I can lift, drive, and such like I was before. Then 8 weeks actually 6 weeks from now I have another surgery and have to recover from that. Hmmm .. I am doubtful this will work out anymore. I will have to chew on this some more and see what I really decide.

Well it is waaayyy past time getting Catcher Dude in shower and bed. Tomorrow is going to be hard enough. His sleep patterns really got messed up this break. So I am sure 6 a.m tomorrow will be a B-E-A-R. As will CD.

Oh and I just remembered I have the second part surgery at the root canal specialist tomorrow. Dang! This was scheduled before all this other stuff and surgery came up!! I really should have cancelled. I didn't notice it on my calendar until just now (well I just now flipped off December onto January!!) BITE! Ugh! Now this should be interesting. UGH! Why was there no reminder call today? Thanks!

Favorite Day...

That's right. No School. Which why am I so excited? Doesn't seem like they have went all that much this month. Out of a possible 23 days, they attended 18. So it should be the norm by now. But none the less I had the boy home today and we actually got along and went out in public..shh..together. But I am sure that was because mom had all the credit cards cash. In a matter of 24 hours, I dropped little over $200 on this child on clothes & shoes. I once again am haunted reminded about a conversation I had over a year ago. [about the conversation] So first it was shoes.

Now clothes. *thud* He has fallen into that category. What category? The child that has to have the certain types, the certain brand, the certain size, the certain color. *thud*

I decided to put my big girl pants on and deal .. deal by not saying one word. I totally left the decisions up to him. I once added a thought and left it at that. It took 161 months for him to start caring about what he wore. So I guess I did pretty good getting away with it as long as I did.

But anyway we had a fun day. Added to his wardrobe for the fall/winter. Few laughs. Some eats. Yeah! All good.

Now what to do Friday?.. ah yes, home again. Do they ever go to school? Home Friday. Go to school Monday, new trimester starts so new classes, and off Tuesday for election.

home.school.home.school.

Geez. Give me time to miss um! [totally a joke, as I always like him home]

Someone close the refrigerator door!!

Oh it is!!.. that is the temperature outside. Brrrr.. yeah so that is totally helping my sinus'. I am thinking we are going to have to break down and heat this house. The thermostat reads 61 in here. Outside temp 30. Catcherdude is going to freeze them balls legs off today after school. They are having their annual Halloween Classic 1.5 mile Fall Run. I was going to go up and watch, maybe, depending on how I feel later.

I am though off to the doctors today. I am one of those get a list of worries, concerns, ailments, things worth paying the dump butted nice co-pay for, and then make the appointment. If I can get a flu shot, and still have this cement up my nose, and the insurance will pay for it, I think I will get that as well. Plus all the other items on my list of things to bombard the DR with today.

Other than that I am still on sick leave and not doing much else. All the house will sit and wait. All of kids run me here ... run me there will be passed by. Though I still might go watch the Fall Run.

So hopefully by mid-morning I have a kickin jack hammer some kickin' medicine to bust this open. Well I am sitting here shaking from the cold, so I am going to hot steam shower my head, dress, and get off to doctor land.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so I am home now. This really was not my day [again!] I got stuck sitting on the hwy for way to long as yet ANOTHER accident closed yet ANOTHER hwy down. This is getting absolutely ridiculous!! I left way early in hopes to sneaking in early so I could get possible maybe shouldn't have went anyway get up to CD school to open the cart for lunch. But instead I sat trapped on the hky. Couldn't move. Wasn't moving. Turn the motor off and cleaned the inside of the truck up stuck in traffic kind of trapped. I finally get to the office.. waited, waited, and waited some more. But finally got in to see him. Got my medicine. But oh wait, what is this? No more paper scripts we just fax them straight away from the office. Yeah! Right! The pharmacy never got it.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

Dr: Yes they did.
Pharmacy: No we didn't.

SOMEONE GET ME MY SCRIPT!! I am dying here. Finally after starting this fight at 10 a.m. I get my wonderful, glorous meds at 3. So I have them. Taking them. Phone again. Ugh!

Well now Catcher Dude missed his bus to his Halloween Classic 1.5 mile Fall Run. So he is all upset, and cold [whaddatellakiddo] and misses out on all the fun. So he is on hell normal bus home. Apparently to be crabby the rest of the afternoon.

Day 2

So yesterday went well I was told. Told as much as a teenage, 8th grader, boy is going to share. Though his driver dropped him off at the wrong stop. Now why my loud mouth child could not speak up and stop the bus before it got 3 blocks away is beyond me, but whatever. So we will see. Open house is in about a week. Guess I will learn more then.

I changed the layout yesterday, and I was not thrilled this a.m. so I changed it back for the most part.

hmmmm .. what else. Nope can not think of anything. I have errands to run today and eh not really in the mood.

Catcher Dude does have practice tonight. He is filling in as little do they know he quit this team playing in a tournament this weekend with the Chargers. Catcher Dude has a league game with his new team (Grizzlies) Friday night, least for fall, I am being more picky this time. Even if the boys are not.

Well I tried calling CD and of course he does not answer his phone. I swear I am going to get rid of that thing!! @#$&!!! I wanted to know what was said between bus driver and CD. Oh well gives us something to actually say to one another this afternoon.

K' I am outta here

First Day .. not a repeat

So CD was rooting for another school starting repeat. (Last August) But the first day started and of course with many hitches. CD's plans were to get up at 6. He was going to workout, shower, eat, and catch bus at 7:23. Yeah! He got up at 7:15, barely ran comb through hair and was out the door. *sigh* Guess this is what it will be like all school year. As any school year forms into be.

So he is off and 8th grade is on it's way to being 1 less day. *sigh* So now here mom sits lost as usual. Yes it is the same start of another school year. I will find something to occupy my time. Actually if I can get the okay I am going to possible look for a job this year. Though I will miss being able to help out around school. But money and passing the time in a much better use probably is better for me.

Well this blog is not going anywhere so I will close. Maybe a blog face lift is in order today.

Last day of summer & Ghoul Supplies

I can not believe Monday school is here. Where did the summer go? Wow! Seems like 7th grade was just starting, and now here we are summer over and 8th grade starting. I can not believe I am almost the mother of a high schooler. Get outta here!!

I certainly hope things go well for all this upcoming school year. I hope my health holds and I am here for his middle school graduation. (Well actually all graduations .. but baby steps here) I want to enjoy this year. Not be buried under pills, wires, and blurry memories.

Catcher dude seems happy with his schedule. He practically got to write it. Not only chosing classes, but teachers as well. Must be nice to have so many connections to get hooked up that way. One class that made me go, huh? Was pre-algebra. Excuse me? I had that in HS. Little fast they are pushing these children I think. Oh well. WTHE!

So I leave you with this funny, and check her out. Great site. Pajama mommy

Ghoul Supplies

‘Twas a month before back to school and all through the stores,
Remnants of school supplies littered the floors.
The stock was depleted, the shelves were all bare
No notebooks, no rulers, nor new clothes to wear.
The children were playing freeze tag in the aisle,
No visions of classrooms cramping their style.
With summer vacation still only half done,
Their thoughts of school simply weighed it at none.
But Mama she knew the time had arrived,
To hunt and to gather the needed supplies.
Though now it seemed her timing was wrong.
Still four weeks to go, but the stuff was all gone!
No boxes for lunch, no cases for pencils
No backpacks, erasers, paper or stencils.
No crayons for coloring, no glue for the crafts,
Mama sighed, turned around, and then let out a laugh.
For what to her wondering eyes did appear?
But witches and ghosts and trick or treat gear.
For though Halloween was three months away,
The candy and costumes were there on display.
Mom scanned her list, a new plan she devised,
What’s a mother to do, but improvise?
They can carry their books in that large witches’ cauldron,
And for a lunch box, a cute plastic pumpkin!
They will make do without crayons and pens,
Face paints for writing, just a means to an end.
Slimy goop for the glue and cobweb covers for books,
And scissors made out of these pirate hooks!
Mom checked off her list, her spirits undaunted,
So what if these school supplies are all haunted?
But this enthusiasm, the kids did not share,
With their own sense of horror, frozen, they stared.
And then with a shriek, the protest did start,
We can’t go to school like that – have a heart!
The kids will all laugh, they’ll call us all names,
We’ll never be able to live down the shame!
Now kids, she said, just stop all this worry,
To finish this shopping, we really must hurry.
And really, this fretting, is all for no reason
For no one will know who you are this Fall season.
Since they are the only clothes to buy in your size,
In these costumes, you won’t even be recognized.
No need for shame, they won’t know who you are.
So come on and help me load up the car.
The kids hung their heads and rode home in defeat,
While mom munched away on a sweet, crunchy treat.
For all of her shopping, it was the cream of the pack
This bag full of chocolate that never talked back.

Monday moan .. weekend recap.

Monday morning and kicking our butts all the way. These new school hours are going to be the death of me, us.

Catcher Dude just doesn't get to sleep early enough so he can get up at 5:55 to catch a 6:30 bus. I am sorry, this is WAY to early for a child. But he can go to bed early, he was in bed by 8, but still be wide awake. He was still up at 11 (I believe, I was in bed by then).

He wouldn't even eat breakfast this morning he was still so tired. But then again with new time change he eats lunch at 9:55 am. So why bother.

WEEKEND RECAP ....

This weekend was nice. Saturdays games was were good. Long day as usual. Left house around 11 a.m. and didn't get home until around 9-10 p.m.

He ended up playing 2.5 games. They wanted him to play 1/2 the second game, when we planned on just leaving after the first. The first game was 6-5. Close game. Catcher dude caught most of this game. He pitched (UGH) part of the second game. When we left second inning they were tied 2-2. So I can't say what happened after we left.

We got to the third game in plenty of time with staying longer at first team longer than originally planned. LH game was a land slide. 17-7. CD was playing awesome. They are trying to train a back up catcher for this team (better get a full-time catcher as CD is looking to move on) so they pulled him when they got so far ahead. Afterwards we went to dinner. But as usual, I was done before we hit the restaurant and didn't want to be there.

Sunday one game day and windy as heck! I was miserable yesterday. The area we were in was terribly windy and without rain lately the dirt was flying. I was eating dirt. Blah! But they played well even though there was a lot of times for dirt flying. Score was 12-5 so they ended the tourney on a split 2-2 and placing 5th, Not bad.

We headed out of there in a rush as since we won Saturday night instead of pulling 10 a.m. or 12 p.m. slot we pulled 2 p. Catcher dude was to be at a try-out at 4 p. But I emailed them the night before and they still wanted him there. We actually was only about 10-15 minutes later, and it was just enough time as they just finished warming up and playing catch. Which of course CD didn't even need. Actually when we got there we found 3 other kids from his team there. LOL.

12U- Select Gold - Team with strong core group of players looking for
additional talented and dedicated players for 2008 spring/summer season. We will
be a competitive AAA team and play approximately 45-50 games including one or
two out-of-town tournaments (Cooperstown, NY and possibly KC or Columbia).

The dirt flying was just as bad there and I was DONE. Stick a fork in me I was over cooked. UGH. But I couldn't pull him and leave so I sucked it up. He actually had a great tryout. DH said that was the BEST he ever seen him play. That is HUGE coming from DH. LOL

So that is the weekend recap. Catcher Dude had a great time won all the games he played, did awesome at his tryouts, and didn't get hurt. That is all worth the eating of dirt, sitting in bright sun, and cranky as all heck.

half day, one of my favorite days

So today catcher dude had a half day, if you want to call it that. Let's go to school at 7:30 and get home by 10:30 a 1/2 day. lol. Still it was a fun day. We dropped off the dad man to catch his ride. Then we went to lunch. Chinese Food. We haven't had Chinese in a while. I always seem
to get a headache afterwards, but for Catcher Dude :P it is all good. Then we went shopping for a pair of jeans. *oh joy* Okay seriously .. what happen to my easy shopper? *oy* Finally we agree on a pair. The rest of the afternoon wasn't really highlight material. Pay a bill, mail deposit for catcher clinic, and a stroll in a Halloween shop. But wasn't really about what we did, but that we did it together. Who am I kidding, I know these days are numbered. That is why I treasure them every second I get them. *smile*

So tomorrow is one of our first favorite days. Yep! 1/2 days come in second to all day no school. So beautiful cooler weather, no school, rain (hopefully) not in the forecast, baseball weekend ... YEESSSSS sounds like a great weekend.

Classes Canceled Due to Power Outages

The HSD has cancelled classes due to power outages from the overnight storms. A district spokesperson says it's too hot to hold classes without air conditioners. Today would have been the first day of school. There's no word on whether school will reopen on Tuesday. NC was one of the hardest hit areas. At the height of the storm, more than 10,000 people lost their power.

(KTVI-myFOXstl.com) --
Strong storms passed the area early Monday morning causing mostly minor damage, but knocking out power to more than 50,000 Ameren customers. Because of the power outages, all HSD are closed Monday, on what would have been the first day of school.

At 6:00 a.m., about 40,000 Ameren customers were without power. The heavy winds, rain and lightning blew in after midnight. The national weather service recorded one wind gust in SC at 67 miles an hour.

There were many reports of trees and power lines down. The storm also brought lots of lightning. The siding was blown off a house and winds blew away a railroad crossing arm. Also tree fell on a woman who was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

It will be hot again Monday:

Okay. So I guess we have another day of freedom. Knowing Ameren's history, they will probably have NO SCHOOL the rest of the week. *giggle* The temps are just plain nasty this week. 104? 102? Ugh!

Well I am off to go back to bed. I am still all stuffy nosed.

Count down begun ...

Well we are down to less then 12 hours before kid walks in the front doors of his brand new middle school. He is getting to be a bundle of nerves. We let him have his final day of doing what he wants. He went bowling in the a.m. Then for dinner he picked Domino's Pizza. Almost time to get showers and everyone in bed. Some how I think this is NOT going to be an easy night to get to sleep. But he has been going to bed and getting up on some what of a schedule.

The Shoes

This was the last thing left on kids back to school shopping items. He needed new shoes for the school year. Man! Was I in for a shocker on how this day ended.

Before story:
So this afternoon was the last day of bowling, I am sitting there talking to other parents about clothes, shoes, etc. shopping for our kids. They were are talking about how hard it was getting to shop for these kids. The styles, cost, etc .. I was amazed how these boys were the same age as kid and it was like listening to night and day. Mine never cares. Period. I am lucky if I can get him IN the store to try and sizing. Just get what ever, could careless attitude. I was told oh just wait, it will change. Wait til he asks for 100+ shoes, clothes, etc .. Well I couldn't see it. Just didn't seem to fit "the type" child I have. " Besides I will not be paying that amount of money for shoes for a child."

So fast forward to us walking into shoe store. We go back to children section, and it begins. Some where between our front door of the house and walking back to the children section of that store I miss placed my child and had picked up a child I have never seen before. We fought for a good 15-20 minutes over what shoes. He all of a sudden had an opinion. Opinion I might add that was poor taste. This could not be the child I raised for 12+ years. My child had to have taste. He could possible pick out the ugliest shoes in the store. What happen to my child? Where did this one come from? So finally just fed up I caved to a pair that wasn't as bad as what he first picked when walking in. Fine! Whatever! (Starting to have flash backs of earlier conversation at bowling alley)

Now it's time to have clerk take over (which BTW I would like to mention, NO HELP at all supporting mom. Just egging him on to keep picking up this god awful shoes .. Ugh! Thanks mister shoe salesman .. thanks!!)

They go to measure his foot. (Long Pause) as he measures, and re-measures, and measures other foot .. sitting .. finally.

SS: I am sorry his foot has grown out of children. He needs to move up to men's section.

Me: What? My baby? He is in a MEN'S shoe? No WAY!! (mommy still in great denial her child is growing up.)

Now I am thinking .. great we have to start ALL over AGAIN. So the great shoe debate starts again. Back and forth .. back and forth. I am wearing thin. Another 15 minutes or go by again.

Nana: is NO HELP either. Let him wear what he wants. (WHAT? Is this pay back for something I did in childhood? NOT HELPING!!)

SS: They not that bad. (NOT HELPING!!)

(excuse me while I puke!! *gag*)

Fine whatever again. But first (looking for a last stitch effort and help from daddy) we have to see what he thinks of them. *click* goes the picture. *push send*

Waiting for dad to call back ...

Oh he does alright.

dad: They look alright. Go with those. (gee thanks for the support)

Fine already. We have now been at the shoe store over an hour, and I just do not care anymore. I am just sitting there bewildered that this is not the child I had earlier. He didn't care. Easy to please. Had taste. (or so I thought). So now we are finally at the check out and I am sure the salesman was all to happy to pawn us on her. *smile*

Then there was the final last I should have never even had that conversation earlier in the day back flash. "I will not be buying my child $100 shoes" My child who does not want or buy expensive items had $95.00 shoes on his feet. *thud* LOL. I give up.

Unfortunately, men's good shoes are just more. Had he still been in children sizes they only run about 50-65. So that is why the jump. Poor child is limited on what he can (or is suppose to) wear. He is already cursed with mommy's fallen arches.

So we are home and I am wore out to no end. This shopping experience has been just that. An EXPERIENCE. Let's just hope these last the year and 1/2 the other good shoes lasted we bought before. Though to be honest I can not say I really want to look at those shoes for 1.5 years. But they are his feet. They are his shoes.

Do I have to shop with him anymore? *smile* I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Summer Ending? Update

Well by the temps on the thermometer you wouldn't know it. But when you are gearing up for the return of school, to me signals a sign of season changing. Last Thursday (July 26) I tried really hard to split myself into. Had a parent meeting up at middle school, but kid had another tryout for a baseball team. (This was his second for this team.) Of course being these were at the same time but 45 minutes apart from one another, I just couldn't do it. So I had to do my worse thing. *gasp* Ask for help. Ask for someone else to deal with my child, while I dealt with another aspect of said child. I really wasn't happy with how that turned out, but what can you do when you have someone else helping you.

Things have been crazy (as usual) around here. A little update on things.

On School Front:

Middle school (of course .. i would not expect any less then problems when it comes to school related things. lol) didn't have kid signed to a team yet. At first they said they didn't have him enrolled, but they cashed my check, so umm yeah you do. But they promised he would be in a team by today (Wednesday Aug 1). Which he was. On first, second, and third opinion, I really like this Principal. Very down to earth, but still seems down to business. So I really have good hopes for this upcoming school season. These next two days (Aug 1 & 2) he is in a pre-class before school starts. They help them get geared towards middle school, lockers, binders, switching classes, transitioning, etc .. Today the Tye dyed shirts according to their team. Right now kid is on 7C. But that might change again before 13th, so not set in stone. So we will see. What can I say. I always am positive when we make changes and all seems like for the better, not we all know that hasn't always been the case.

Sunday(29th) after they got done bowling I got an awesome deal on 3 ring binders. Kid needs 5 (red, blue, green, black, purple) usually 3 ring binders are $4-$5 a piece. Sale .99. I was jumping for joy on that one. I like how each class is color coded. binder, spiral notebook, and 2 pocket folder all in the above mentioned colors. Then each set is designed for a certain class. Very clever idea. I hope this keeps kid on track and organized.

Registration is the next 6 days. We are going to shoot for Friday. He will get is very first student ID, class schedule, locker assignment, and bus schedule. I will pay out checks, lol. (Lunch, PTA, School Pictures, yearbook, and extra ID). I still can not believe his school pictures are BEFORE school even starts. That is just to odd in my book. So anyway, ready or not middle school is just 12 days away. *sigh*

On Baseball Front:

Like I said earlier kid went to second tryout for the bulldogs last Thursday(26th). They must see something they like to keep having him back. He had 2 different tryouts on Saturday (28th). That was a long day. Cobras 11 am - 1 pm then Saints 2p-4p. It was HOT, NO SHADE, and imo too long of a day for kid. But he did his hardest. He got a new bat on Friday night (27th). He was happy about that. Little shorter, but heavier. Then Monday he had practice with his current team Rhinos. This was just catchers & pitchers. So he is getting his workouts here lately. As of right now we are scaling back on his try outs. It is getting to be to much, and even though he is the one that is push, push, pushing, he needs to rest. We skipped 1 this past Sunday and skipping this Friday & Saturday. But we are letting him tryout next Monday (6th) for a team. So we will see come later this month what if anything comes out of all this hard work.

Other stuff:

CDD is working a lot of OT. Hating his hours. But this is only option right now. He will just have to find another job and move on. That is about all he can do at this point. He is giving up OT to take kid out next Friday. Hasn't really been around that much this summer with changing jobs and all the different shifts before switching and now that he has switched. *sigh* But least he is giving up a great deal of $$ to make a memory. *smile*

Only one more week of bowling for kid. Then 2 weeks and CDD starts. *thud* This household never settles in. Always on the go. I really am going to sit down in a couple days and try to make out a schedule and stick to it. Problem? No one day is the same twice. But least I can try.

Well I think that about updates this current.

Terrible Tuesday

Well this is just a week I want to finish and not see again. DH got the call last night, this team is not really interested in a one position player. I really feel for kid on this matter. He has played and trained for one position. That is what was recommended. That is what he has done for 3.5 years. Learned one position, and learned it well. Another thing I have found .. all coaches sons are catchers. But supposely, catchers are in great demand. Where? I want that tryout.

Today was bowling day. That was a so ~ so adventure as well. Really, nothing is standing out grand this week so far. I did finally "look" at a calendar. When I say "look" I mean really lQQk, and realized where we were in July, how August is just aroud corner, and yes .. the word, the word that I don't want to speak nor think about ... SCHOOL. *gasp* Where did the summer go? It always seems to get away from us. *sigh*

Tonight I have spent many hours sitting here today looking for arm strengthen tips for my lil ball player. I can't seem to find anything like I am looking for. Driving me crazy. I have seen to purchase to use, purchase to read, etc ..

I just want simple excerises to strengthen his arms. Help him get those throws out further. Why? Oh why can I NOT find what i am looking for? Probably because I AM LOOKING for it.
If I have to I will check out buying something. But I really thought I could find simple excerises, drills, etc ..

Well Wednesday is around the bend, what will hump day provide for us this week?

Another school year

I just can not believe another school year is about to wind down. Where does the time go? Where did my baby go? Seems like I just *blinked* and he was grown. You would think with each passing school year it would get easier as they come to an end. But it is just as hard to see 6th grade come to an end, as it was to see Kindergarten come and go.

So ...

yet another school year.

Horrible Week

I am so glad it is almost over. Earlier this week we had parent orientation for the new HWMS. I guess kid will be moving there next year. Least as it stands right now. Gutter people were suppose to be here today, and thery weren't. I will be so GLAD when this construction is over.

Took kid to hockey game tonight. (Blues & Dallas) DH bowling night. Of course I was dropped dead tired. I was very happy when he came home and straight to shower. I can not stand the smell of smoke .. uck, gagged, puke.
