Heat Wave BROKE

Heat Wave finally broke. It has been horrible. I can not wait (yeah really can) for the electric bill to come in for this.

10 long days. It's been 10 consecutive days at 100 or hotter. That's 2nd best to the record for consecutive days of 100 or hotter of 13 set in 1936. The hottest of this stretch was Thursday June 28th at 108 (the hottest day since the 1950s). 8 of those 10 days set record high temperatures. Also, this is the warmest start to a year on record (through July 7th)

And all this comes after last year's 4th hottest summer on record and 2010's 5th hottest summer on record.

Below are the daily highs for this heat wave with an R next to any new record high temperatures for that day:
June 28= 108 R
June 29= 106 R
June 30= 105 R
July 1st= 102
July 2nd= 100
July 3rd= 101 R
July 4th= 105 R
July 5th= 105 R
Julu 6th= 106 R
July 7th= 107 R

Only at 81 so far today. That is great!!

Thermostat still broke ...

Okay There actually might be some relief here soon. But WTF? 106 today? Right now it is 5:15 PM and still 105* Yikes!!

Baseball Update

The last try-out we went to. Baseball Tryout Called and invited him to play ball with them. Kid is really excited. Right now practices are Monday's & Saturday's.

But wait .. there is more. He has also been invited to play for another team as well. Oh course he is riding the fence on this one, and hasn't made up his mind. They have practice tonight @ 6 pm.

Oh course it is H-O-T-T-E-R the Hell out there. I just looked and at 5:27 PM it is 103 F*/40C out there. OMFG!! That is way to much. Plenty of cold water and cold towels and shade.

Really thinking about this .. I am not sure how long we will stay for practice in the mess.

So we have teams now, and either reduce them or play both is the decision right now. My DH is totally against playing two teams. Thinks that is disrespectful. You can not give 100% when your dividing your time all the time. So we will see.

To hot for ball

It is just not letting up out there on the heat factor. We made it to yet another baseball tryout tonight. But MAN it was H-O-T. I was so glad I was able to get up the quik shade we bought. There was zero shade again at this field. There were so many happy people when I showed up with the tent I had no trouble recruiting helpers to get it up.

It is going to suck BIG TIME this week. July was mild compared to this. Poor air conditioning is pumping and pumping. Going to be a STAY indoors week. Last week of summer vaction.

Oh my lordy!! It is HOT - HOT - HOTTER!!

Way to hot for me this week. Poor lil ones that have returned to school. Least the end of the week will be a little break.
