One Year Post Surgery

365 days. 1 year. 52 weeks. 12 months. About 13 cycles.

I goes so fast. I can not say I have had 1 second thought. I wish I had done it years ago. I truely believe insurance, doctors, woman themselves should have the option once you are done child baring, or if you have made the choice to never child bear, to have the surgery. I have totally been so much happier. Not having that wonderful joy showing up every 28 days or less and being very miserable. :)

So here is to my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY .. to the best desicion I made in 2011.

Also happy to report I have not had any other medical problems since the surgery either. Which just proves my point even more there was a connect between the two problems I was having.

See Goes to show sometimes we know our body better than doctors do. :)

EOM Catcher's Report

End Of The Month
Catcher's Report
The Final A$$ Clown Report/Update

I am doing my last update wrap up of this whole finger/a$$ clown/school/ drama. I would like to say this month was a better month. I would like to say there were no other school or a$$ clown issues. I would like to say there were no other Dr appointments. As I would like to say all that .. It would be a lie ..

But what I can say is CD has now been released (2/7) from surgeon. He is done at the rehab center. (Thank goodness stay tuned for vent on that one) He seems to be doing well. Looks like motion is almost 100%. I am very HAPPY with the results of the surgery. Best thing to come out of it was the surgeon we got. Thank You So Much Dr. Golden!! You Rock!!

Let's just hope it has had enough recovery time it will not snap at the first sign of using it for baseball. x(--)x <-- fingers crossed.

I ended up at the Chiropractors because my neck, back, and head were killing me. I had (have) so many knots it was not even funny.

Sadly I did spend much of February fighting school. It was a nightmare. On the 15th a$$ clown came up behind (he loves coming from behind .. lil b!tch a$$ coward) pushing CD into lockers and almost to floor. Of course it was the right hand that plowed into the lockers. Lucky nothing more serious than a bump happened. A$$ clown's favorite thing to be annoying is to open the door to the Chem Class CD is in and shout in there. Anyone else read that & think the teacher should be doing something about that? Hmm? Yah! My thoughts to!

I talked to so many people this month. ABC Principal, Counsellors, Social Workers, SSD teacher, Asst Superintendent (well I tried, he never called me back but did call the head Principal and told him to fix this issue) The main trouble was they were seeing this as a P.E. accident, and not what it was. Grrr!!

But the last conversation I had with Principal finally something took. Only took 2 months, 3 days to get it clear. He spoke with CD once again, and the a$$ clowns mother was finally called, told to come pick her "child" up and was removed for whatever guide lines allowed for the offense of Bullying & Dangerous Behavior. (*cue choir*) hallelujah!! hallelujah!!

In the last few days I have found out more than I care to about this "a$$ clown"

* He failed every class (minus p.e. got an A) from first semester.
* Is currently failing all classes this semester.
* Does have multiply suspensions (in & out of school), & Saturday Detentions
* Many write ups in class room (one even had CD's name from Sept where A$$ Clown knocked CD's backpack across room)
* His mother works for the school board (yep! A little bell go off as a warning sign on this one? All made sense .. all puzzle pieces fit nicely there)

But the school was attesting he was a good boy, just a small pest, never in trouble. Ha! Yeah, so I can never throw in faces I know the true facts about the record of this kid. But least I know. I am at peace now. Because I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG He IS AN A$$ CLOWN!!

The sun seems to be peeking out right now, so we will see. Possible the darkest days are over. Now is the time to drop the subject. Heal CD. Move on. But NOT FORGET. Time for Spring ..

Time for ...

BASEBALL ... BAAAA BEEEE!!

The Catcher's Report Jan 3-9

The Catcher's Report

Been a while since I did a summary of the week. The week was not a horrible week. Funny how it was a short week, but it seemed so long. CD went back to the surgeon on Monday. They removed the temp cast and they removed his stitches. He had two options of what to do next. I opted for the cast. He will wear this one 3 weeks. That way less chances something happening to the finger at school. Plus, that way when CD pounded the snot out of the "a$$clown" his finger is well protected. Little ray of sunshine was Surgeon told CD he could resume catching for the pitchers getting lessons. He was really happy about that.

School returned this week from winter break, I wish it had been a bit longer so CD could have at least had a few days to do something other than lay in bed drugged up. I am glad that it was only a 3 day school week. Ease CD back into being active. But there is only roughly 60 days until Spring Break. We are talking about taking him out of town. Leaning towards Wisconsin Dells. But that still in air. (Really depends on how bad we are drowning in CD and my medical bills.)

We all piled into the school on first day back (Wed). CD made sure he expressed his grave disappointment on how they handled this whole situations. Said they would look into things and get back to us. They of course are back peddling as fast as they can. CDD and I were up at school several times in that one day. Plus speaking with a couple police in that city. They have been great actually. If they can on the slightest limb get this "a$$clown" on anything, they are. So the school may be dragging feet, but they are not. Actually the police already was able to confirm the school lied to them about this "a$$clown" so we will see.

Not going to be an easy fast fix that is for sure. Guess we will just have to see.

Of course since CD was given the green light, he was back at the baseball house catching by Tuesday. They were really glad to have him back. Made CD feel good to be wanted and needed. He also went back to Managing the Girls Varsity Basketball team. So looks like he is on the mend ~ mentally at least for now ~

Us? Same ol' Same. I go back next week to my dr/surgeon. See what his next plan is. I know what it is not. More surgery, unless he does pro bono. Tapped out on funds. As far as I am concerned the drain can just stay in. F- it!

The Catcher's Report

The Catcher's Report

So we left off last week with me going to hospital to yet again have the infection cleaned out. What I was not expecting was to wake with another DAMN drain installed. Oh that was not on my plans. So that caused this to be a more slower
recovery. (As in I am still down for the count.) It is more painful to deal with that. Harder to "bounce" back. Driving is nearly impossible. :( Lucky for me I have a built in driver. CD has been wonderful. He picked up and ran with taking control and being very helpful.

CDD left as planned Saturday to go see the NFL game he and a co-worker planned a while back. But he wasn't even missed. CD cooked & cleaned. So I was quite able to just drug up and lay. :)

CD kept up with his busy week as usual. But it was okay. Busy days Monday & Tuesday, CDD was home on vacation. So still no need for me to do anything. He finished up Batting Lessons for the session. He is still Catching the Pitchers that are still having lessons. The Semester @ school ends this coming week, and Winter Break starts. So all is on track around here.

There is a snag, hopefully a minor one, fingers crossed. CD finally was able to get back to TKD. Just one more belt and he is finished. Just taking really long time, he is way to busy. But as saying he went Wednesday and then again Thursday. Somehow Thursday he managed to come down wrong on his right foot/ankle. He tried school Friday as you can not miss school with their schedule. Miss 1 day, workload of 2 days and right before grades due. NOT GOOD. He only made it thru 2.5 classes. DAMN!

He can still tonight can bare no weight. So now not only is he hurt. I do not have a helper or driver. Plus I am having a hard time helping him. :( Moms should never
not be able to help their children. Plus he could lose his catching position. Plus if he has to miss school again he is in BIG trouble. He won't be able to get things completed or finals in. Several of his classes he will not return to in Jan. So it is now or never. Then there is the issue if he is seriously hurt .. he might miss winter workouts for HS baseball and not be eligible to play in spring. Oy!! Just can't think about that.

He is told all the time he has to take care all the time. To much weighs on him to be healthy and not hurt.

CDD working 12 hour nights this weekend. Oy! I think he is going to have to stop committing to OT. Things are falling apart.

Other than that Christmas seems to be in good standings. I have to get wrapping done this week while CD is at school. I will not get a chance other wise. I was going to try and get out and buy him 1 or 2 other things but I don't see that happening.

So that pretty much sums up this week of The Catcher's Report ..

.... Until next time.

The Catcher's Report

The Catcher's Report

I am typing this up early today as it is a busy weekend ahead. As I mentioned earlier this week my medical issues that I thought were way past me "popped up" this
week again. Out of the clear blue. I really thought last December when I had the third surgery. Blog on first surgery, same issue

But I woke up Monday with the all to familiar "lump" First reaction was to "ignore". Second was to climb up on my pity potty couch. But then I decided none of those were good options. So I called & got in yesterday to see my "favorite" doctor.

So when I went to Doctors y/day he was going to just do a round of antibiotics and for me to come back on Tuesday. Well seeing how ONE: Getting closer to Christmas and Winter Break and TWO: CDD is taking his last vacation days of the year Monday & Tuesday, I was just blunt with the Dr. if you do not think meds are going to work I would prefer you just do the surgery when husband available. Monday or Tuesday. Well those days didn't work for him. But today did. So at 10 am I report to the Outpatient surgery department. But of course this wouldn't be my life without kinks in this plan. ONE: CDD had already committed to OT tonight. TWO: He leaves Saturday Morning for a NFL trip.

So juggle we will do. But what I won't let it do is rune another holiday. I am not going to let this become us. Take over our lives. I am determined to have surgery today, and resume life back by no later than Sunday. Period.

So that is all I have this week. I am glad all my shopping is done. The decorations are up. The last tree needs it's ornaments, but Catcherdude and I will decorate Saturday. I really am in good spirits about this. I always let this get me down. Not this time. Nope! It just isn't going to be.

So until next week ...

Happy Friday!!

Here we go again ..

My issue I had that started back in August 2008 is back. Oh Joy!! Yep! I woke up yesterday morning with that wonderful feeling .. there it was .. abscess is back. YES! The one I had operated on before. Dec 18, 2008 then again in March 2009, and yet again Dec 2009.

I have an appointment Thursday to see the Dr. So I know where I will yet again spend my holidays. Having surgery and laying in bed. Yep! Wonder if he offers a Buy 3 get 1 Free deal? We just got done paying off all those medical bills. *sigh*

I am glad I got everything in order before Thanksgiving. That is the only plus side. But I have a feeling the DR will not be enjoying his holidays. After husband and teen get done bitching. Had it not been the holiday season I would be finding a new surgeon. I am so tired of this not being over. Guess this is what will be my new holiday tradition .. Having surgury every Decemeber right before Christmas.

Yep! Sounds like a wonderful idea.

Friday .. Finally

Still trying to get back in the swing of things. First full week of having the Internet back @ the house. So it is easier to blog again. But still not any less busy.

The normal busy nights with High School Cage time, Hitting lessons, TKD, Catching for pitching instructors, catching lessons, and baseball practices round out the 7 days in a week. But some highlights to this week :

Son had to have his schedule for next school year filled out & signed off. We were all excited to see he was recommended for Honors Math & Science Classes. This is even more sweet as since he was 3 he has been in school with and IEP in place. So maybe this is actually the start of the end of needing this in place. Boy would that not be the best news. Now if he could just get more organized and stop forgetting to turn work in, or not get the test scores he should the first time around. Ah! That would be .. but baby steps. Baby steps. We'll get there.

I can hardly believe in just about a month it will be time to try-out for the HS Baseball team. Sitting on Pins and needles already. I can not imagine what the week of Tryouts and then waiting for results will be like.

Taxes are filed and on the way. Couldn't be coming at a better time seeing how husband is drowning in my medical bills for the last 2 years. Yikes! They sure add up.

I am finally finished with all medicines. I have been on one type of antibiotic or another since right after Thanksgiving. So now we wait and see. Hopefully this last round will fix once and for all and NO MORE Surgeries!!

What also is nice now Husband has now picked up Friday, Saturday, Sunday duties and I get to stay in. That is nice. Miss the OT. But had to be done.

Looks like snow might be rolling in again for this weekend. Brrr .. I am really ready for warmer, spring like weather.

Game Called ... Snow!

Who would have thought we would wake up to snow this morning? Canceling the tournament for the rest of the weekend? Well the rain cancelled it yesterday, but today snow. Come on already!! It is almost April. Spring arrived last week.

But selfishly I am glad the tournament was cancelled. It was not scheduled when I scheduled my week of torture. So I was disappointed when I learned I would miss out on seeing them play.

So yes, here we are. I am home now finally. I managed to make it through this week. Still in loads of pain, but hey! That is what the good drugs are for. That crap you have to drink to prep. UGH! I thought I would not survive that day. But to have to stop foods on Sunday and not have food again until Thursday was not a picnic either. I got to where I would just (TMI ALERT) throw up the jell-o. I could not stand to eat it any longer. Blah! Though Wednesday night I was given some cream of wheat and that wasn’t half bad, with loads of sugar. LOL. But when I finally was released to food on Thursday everything gave me heartburn. So that took the joy out of it.

So hopefully this is it. I am done. I will recover from this last part, and be good to go. The repair went well. I will never be so glad is to not see this Doctor again. 

Well I have to get laid back down. It is still hard to be up for long periods of time. But I wanted to update here and eat. So killed to birds with one stone and now I am off to finish watching my Law & Order: SVU marathon I taped yesterday. I don’t get very far as I doze off during an episode and when I wake up I have to back it up where I left off.

Plus Catcher Dude & I got Twilight off PPV last night and I need to finish that up as well.

Happy Sunday! Hope to be back this week.

Changes & Catch Up.

So I am not sure if I like this or not. I was bored. But I am not sure how this is. But I am tired of messing with it. So it stays. Like it or not. I just can not make layouts like some of you lucky people can. LOL. So least for now it will stay. [Edit on Monday: I didn't leave it! I couldn't get comfortable with what it looked like. If I could had just tweeked a couple things, it would have stayed. Oh Well]

Next item of business ..

The Vlog.

So that bombed out BIG TIME!! I could never get Catcher Dude and myself in the same room. So I ended up just scratching that whole idea. lol.

I had received my big ol' book from Gary, from Pottery Blog and wanted to Vlog opening it. Well as I said, I tired of waiting to be able to open it. So I just opened it. I did take pictures, though the camera is now in car, so that will also have to wait. But I will say I am very happy with the turn out. I am one lucky baseball mom!!

Next item of business ..

The 6 week follow up appointment from Surgery.

So I went to the Doctors on Thursday and he said I was all good to go. So time for the 2nd surgery. So anytime I am ready. Ready? Is he kidding me? Fine! So when I start looking over calendar I am finding there is no open times. NONE! Baseball is in full swing, and right now Catcher Dude has some type of this or that everyday. Only a few more weeks and tournaments & games start. With dad dude working nights, I am it. There is no one else to step up to the plate. Much less the DR only does surgeries in A.M. Ummm .. dad dude is now in school of the a.m so he sure as heck can not take and stay with me. Oy! Then they drop another bomb, this time I have to stay over night. Um .. what? Oh yeah that made life even easier. NOT!!

So seeing how it is not something we have to do right now .. I am thinking October. His scheduling nurse didn't think that was all that funny. But seriously? I am going to take myself? I am going to leave Catcher Dude home alone? Have him miss things he is required to attend? Lose money invested? *sigh*

This is a two part deal. Taking either 4 days straight, or can be broke down 2 days and then 2 days. Well we have been looking over our calendar for 2 days now and I am not closer to getting a date in mind. Other than after the season is over. Sometime in the fall. But some how I do not think the DR saying, "Not a rush." Translate to I can wait until the fall. LOL.

Next item of business ..

The rest of the weekend.

Quiet weekend. No camp scheduled this weekend for Saturday, and today's was cancelled for a Fundraiser. So I have gotten to stay in my PJ's all weekend. Now that is a treat all by itself. [thinking: To bad couldn't do surgery yesterday.] I am supposed to be getting around now to be ready to go out after dad dude & Catcher dude get home from bowling. But I have no desire to go out.

It is colder again outside. Yesterday morning we woke to another snow dusting. Though it is gone today. I am still tired of this cold and snow.

Well. That is it on my what's going on in this clubhouse weekend addition.

Post Surgery Check-in

Yeah Me!! I survived through yesterday. Still in massive pain. The pain pills were not keeping up last night and most part of today. But since around 4 seems they are keeping up better. Now hopefully we are on the last road of recovery and feeling better. Though I do have another surgery ahead of me in 8 weeks. But baby steps. Just worry about the now.

But I just feel so gosh darn old now. This just seems like something older people would have troubles with. But I suppose Fistula's are not age discriminatory. LOL. But seriously? First within the last month I have had reoccurring heartburn. Now I have to drink this god awful Metamucil. *blah!* Switch to a High bulk diet. I just feel old. I am cancel all birthdays from here or out.

But alas I am alive and kicking so enough wallowing in this. I will just deal. *pulling big girl pants on* stepping off vent box.

So 2 days until Christmas. Cold enough. But no snow. It was raining/freezing/sleeting early but that has stopped. I really wanted a White Christmas. Oh well.

Catcher Dude got some sad news this afternoon. He was all paid up and planning on going to a baseball camp next week but there was not enough interest and it was cancelled. Bummer!!

There was a present elf that showed up and a few misfits fell out of their bags and under my tree. Not sure how that happen. Guess some elf thought there was a deserving receiver here. ;-)

Seriously I have no clue who those gifts are for as I can not bend under there and look with this drain, stitches, and rubber band. I will have to ask the hubby when he returns home if he knows where they appeared.

Well I am all over the place. Drugs! Nice. Kicked in again and I can not hold a thought.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE ... EVE.

Surgery Set ... Darn!!

I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and even though I begged, borrowed, and pleaded for him to wait until after the first of the year .. Nope!!

I have an abscess and fistula(??) that can not wait. I can not stand this surgeon. He has no bed side manners. He is rude and hateful. I hate this is the man I have to rely on. I barley could get him to stand still and explain what he was doing. Then when I asked how much will I be unconvinced with the drain I will have to have for 8 weeks, he flew off the handle. UGH!!

Excuse me?!? I am the only one here to take care of kid. Who does not stand still a minute. Every night he has some clinic, camp, lesson, etc. I just paid for him to take that 3 day camp week of News Years, So excuse me for wanting to know how I will/will not be getting around.

Of course it is the 22nd of December, my husband has no vacation left. Why would he? *rolling eyes* The Dr. was going to be nice (shocker there) and push all his surgeries back to place me first thing in a.m so DH could be there but still be able to leave by 1:15p to go to work. Oh but of course his employer changed their hours from 2p-12:30a to 6a-4:30p these coming up two weeks. Ugh! But least when I have to have the other surgery in 8 weeks he will have vacation again, and can be there. (That was DH reasoning .. whatever!!)

I am sick to death of there being something wrong with me all the time. I have been on some type of antibiotics since end of August. One type of infection after another. You would think ONE Dr. could pin point this and fix it. But no I have bounced from Dr. to Dr. fixing one infection in this area .. to another infection in this area. The top of my microwave looks like the darn pharmacy at Wal-greens. lol.

I really did not want to be laid up for Christmas. This is one of my favorite times when Catcher Dude is home. I hate .. hate .. hate .. this!!

(Stomping my feet and pouting!!)

Surgery Day

Is here. Finally they have made up their minds what is wrong, and how to fix it. It has been many of weeks of on again, off again, this Dr, that Dr. *sigh*

I am glad they finally picked something. But I am a tad bit worried. I really had not thought much about it, or talked about it really even. It has been such a flip-flop-ity thing I figured it would be postponed or cancelled AGAIN. But here we are.

See ya when I see ya.

Happy Thursday!!!!!

Dr Appointment .. Spoiled One .. Oh My

So I had my yet another doctor appointment this morning. They have finally made a choice and Thursday December 11 @ bright and early 8 am I will finally be having surgery. I don't know if I should be whoo-hoo happy or not, but I am FINALLY glad we have come to a decision and it is set in stone now. Well.. pending insurance authorization.

When leaving there CDD decided since Catcher Dude was so upset last night he hasn't seen dad in a while, and they will miss each other tonight again as CDD is OT'ing tonight we would swing by school and pick him up for a brunch trip to Bob Evans. So that is what we did. Let him miss one class block and skipped across the parking lot to eat. CD was so happy to see CDD. You would think they had not seen each other in months. :)

Now CDD and I are back home. CD back at school. Now I am waiting for a Free-cycle pick up. But I am thinking they are a no-show!! Second no show on this same item. Maybe some charity will want to come pick this up. Oh well.

I will start laundry soon and sit and work more on this afghan for catcher dude. I really want to be done by next week so I can possible make a scarf and hat set for niece. I made niece #2 a blanket last Christmas. So I might even try to make a set for niece #1 & #2. But I don't believe I have time.

Well it is a rare thing for CDD to be awake and me at home, so I am going to go see what he is up to and probably start the laundry as it is apparent the lady bailed on the refrigerator.
