This Is So True!

I was directed to this blog and it is so true. Great post. I really can relate to this in MANY ways replacing pool with ... [you fill in the blank] it happens all the time.

The Adventures of the Headless Family: Open Letter to People with Pools

Open Letter to People with Pools

Hey! I'm so glad that you chose to come on by. Have you been enjoying your summer? I'm sure that your POOL has given you many hours of glorious fun with your children this summer. Countless memories of splashing, wet, laughing moments.

I'm really happy for you. Really.

I do however have one request. I hope you don't mind. It's just a small thing.

Are you sure? OK. Here I go.

Next summer? Could you refrain from saying, in front of my pool-less children, that you would love to have us come over? That you'll call and set it up? That you would love for my children to come over to SWIM?

Go to her blog to finish reading .. it really is good. :-)

Blog Scrolling

So today I was scrolling blogs and came across a interesting blog.

What's for lunch

This recipe in paticular really sparked my interest.

Stuffed Corn Muffins

I promise, nothing complicated about these.

All you need is a box of Jiffy corn muffin mix (and whatever you need to make it, milk & an egg?), leftover cooked chicken and either leftover or frozen mixed veggies.

* Mix up the corn muffin mix per the box.

* Chop up the leftover chicken and stir it into the muffin mix.

* Throw the veggies in too.

* Then spoon it into cupcake wrappers & bake per the directions on the package.

Voila--meat, veggies & a starch. And it's fairly un-messy. I got about 12 from one box of muffin mix.

Blog Surfing

I came across this AWESOME idea today. I stumbled acrossed Creative Homeschooling blog. I love her site. Among many things, I came across a post about Goal Markers. Here is a list of a few discussed on her site:

Here are some other Goal Marker Ideas.
  • Water Drinking: Set out 6 beads each day to drink 6 glasses of water.
  • Exercising: Using 2 jars, throw a handful of buttons in a jar. Just commit to exercising enough times to move the buttons from one jar to the other. You'll probably want to start over again!
  • Complimentary Words: Set out 5 beads in a day to say that many complimentary words.
  • Children's Books Read: Have your children decide how many books they want to have read by a certain time...let them create a goal marker for themselves!
  • Random Acts of Kindness: Have your children decide how many GRACE DEEDs ( non-deserving) they would like to try to accomplish for a week and make a Goal Marker for that....how about flowers cut out and taped on a window when completed!

To see all the post please go visit Goal Markers- Accomplishing Goals One Step at a Time.

This is a great idea. I can think of many uses for this idea. I have made a list. I am going to start with one or two with son, and hopes that things improve around here. I will update when I have picked what we will start on and how it is going.

Thanks CREATIVE HOMESCHOOLING!!
