“Today I become a grown up.” – Grey’s Anatomy

This has always been my favorite speech. I was watching Grey’s Anatomy this afternoon and once again the episode with this fantastic graduation speech was on and it really stuck with me.

“Today’s the day my life begins. Today I become a citizen of the world. Today I become a grown up. Today I become accountable to someone other than myself and my parents. Accountable for more than my grades. Today, I become accountable to the world. To the future. To all the possibilities that life has to offer. Starting today, my job is to show up wide eyed and willing and ready. For what, I don’t know. For anything. For everything. To take on life. To take on love. To take on the responsibility and possibility. Today, my friends, our lives begin. And, I for one can’t wait.”

It just makes me think of the next steps son is taking, that we will be sharing in the journey. Just made me think. Almost like it was meant for me to see today. Today .. when are down to 20 days.

Rocky Road Brownies

Rocky Road Brownies

Ingredients
Makes 16
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces, plus more for pan
1 bag (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped nuts, such as cashews, pecans, or walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8-inch-square baking pan. Line bottom with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides; butter paper.

In a heatproof bowl set over (not in) a saucepan of simmering water, combine butter and 1 cup chocolate chips. Heat, stirring occasionally, just until melted, 3 to 5 minutes.

Remove mixture from heat; stir in sugars and salt, then eggs, and finally flour, stirring just until combined. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs attached, 30 to 35 minutes.

Remove from oven, and sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips, then marshmallows and nuts. Bake until chocolate is shiny and marshmallows are puffed, about 5 minutes. Cool completely in pan. Using paper overhang, lift cake onto a work surface; cut into 16 squares.

Helpful Hint
To prevent toppings from sinking into the batter, sprinkle them on after brownies are baked. An extra 5 minutes in the oven melts the topping together for easy slicing.

What's My Motivation?

What's My Motivation? It's time for me to hit the reset button on my weight loss. I have sort of fallen off the wagon the past week month months and I would like to be proactive in getting right back on--for good!

Seems like I did much better when I had motivators in past. But seeing how I met those and they have passed, I seem to be lacking the drive and motivation now.

For the time being, here are my main motivators:

1. Get back to being comfortable in the new clothes I bought for the summer
2. Size 6 (least 8) Jeans for fall/winter
3. Running a 5K in November.
4. Flexibility.
5. Normal BMI
6. Get rid of the stubborn stomach fat

1.1.13 New Year

I am adjust this post on a blog I read today. Below is the post :

===================
When setting goals, there are a few things that we need to look at and really dissect in order to create SMART GOALS to achieve. They are as follows:

Specific

The first term stresses the need for a specific goal over and against a more general one. This means the goal is clear and to the point. “I want to read 1 new book a month” Notice how it is not generalized as “I want to read more.”

Measurable

The second term stresses the need for concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of the goal. The thought behind this is that if a goal is not measurable, it is not possible to know if I am making progress toward successful completion. For example our goal may be to eat more “clean” or follow a Paleo diet more strictly. How are we going to do this? Lets start with recording what we eat in a food journal on a daily basis. This way we can see where we stand at the end of each day.

Attainable

The third term stresses the importance of goals that are realistic and attainable. I would love to have a 400-pound bench press by the end of next year but is it going to happen given my current 1RM right now? Chances are slim. We need to make sure that our goals are not too far out of reach, I like to dream big but a more realistic goal would be achieve a bench press of 350 pounds.

Relevant

The fourth term stresses the importance of choosing goals that matter. Max’s goal to eat 5 power bars in 5 minutes may be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, and Time-Bound, but lacks Relevance. Set a goal that really lights a fire under you’re ass, something that you will feel proud of accomplishing, not sick to you’re stomach.

Time-bound

The fifth term stresses the importance of grounding goals within a time frame, giving them a target date. A commitment to a deadline helps you stay more focused on the task at hand. “I will lose 10 pounds by June 1st.” By giving yourself a specific date to achieve this goal, you will take the necessary steps in order to achieve this by then or even before.

===================

Now I am adjust this. RED new part.

I gave up long ago with the "New Year's Resolutions" thing. I though this year I would go with a look back, forward, and make a TO DO LIST, you know things I would hope to accomplish 364 days from now.

Starting with look back

I am so grateful for this past year...

- for so much time with our son.
- for so much quality time with amazing family.
- for my mom being here.
- for the health insurance coverage we have to help off set some of all the bumps and bruises we had along the way.
- for the opportunity to be able to go on what little vacations (though baseball related) we did.
- for new friends.
- for good health.
- for the 40+ pounds I was able to leave behind
- Kicking my Soda Habit

Moving on to looking forward

Things that though might be silly I am really excited about in 2013...

- Celebrating twentieth year of marriage.
- Son turns 18.
- Son graduating High School.
- Reconnecting with friends.
- Two week Vacation (that is NOT sports related)
- Seeing old classmate I haven't seen in years.

Now the TO DO LIST

- Increase Water intake (by 16 oz. a day)
- continue on with the remaining weight loss (of at least 10 pounds By May 1, 2013)
- maintain the loss
- learn something new. (I haven't decided this one yet. I will update when I think of something.)
- Lower Cholesterol
- take more photos.(possibly a class or two.) (resume my #365 blog)
- read more books. (Read at least 1 book a month)
- complain less.
- spend more time with the husband. (Date night at least once a month)
- stop letting the small stuff over come me.

What about you?
What things are you looking forward to?
What's on your 2013 TO DO LIST??

In the wake of 12-14-12

I am copying this from Facebook User (I could not have said this any better) :

Now THIS I can stand behind, be passionate about and help bring awareness too! I truly believe with all my heart that guns are NOT the issue (no matter what, those hell bent and determined enough, WILL get their hands on one. If not a gun, it will be a knife, or a homemade bomb or something else...)

Those with mental illness and those who have endured horrific bullying ARE an issue! Statistically, if you look into the tragedies that have taken place over the past 10-15 years, you will find that mental illness or being the victim of unbearable bullying almost always played into it.

THIS + a weapon = Tragedy in the making Weapons ALONE do not!

It's time we help these people, rather than pretend they don't exist or ignore them until it's too late! Let's keep OUR money in OUR country and invest it in education, resources, medication and clinics for the mentally ill and bullied for a change and get these people and their families the help they so desperately need.

I REALLY encourage you to read this in it's entirety :  I am Adam Lanza’s Mother - It's time to talk about mental illness

(I went ahead and copied the whole thing here website wasn't always loading..)

-----------

Friday’s horrific national tragedy—the murder of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in New Town, Connecticut—has ignited a new discussion on violence in America. In kitchens and coffee shops across the country, we tearfully debate the many faces of violence in America: gun culture, media violence, lack of mental health services, overt and covert wars abroad, religion, politics and the way we raise our children. Liza Long, a writer based in Boise, says it’s easy to talk about guns. But it’s time to talk about mental illness.

Three days before 20 year-old Adam Lanza killed his mother, then opened fire on a classroom full of Connecticut kindergartners, my 13-year old son Michael (name changed) missed his bus because he was wearing the wrong color pants
.
“I can wear these pants,” he said, his tone increasingly belligerent, the black-hole pupils of his eyes swallowing the blue irises.

“They are navy blue,” I told him. “Your school’s dress code says black or khaki pants only.”

“They told me I could wear these,” he insisted. “You’re a stupid bitch. I can wear whatever pants I want to. This is America. I have rights!”

“You can’t wear whatever pants you want to,” I said, my tone affable, reasonable. “And you definitely cannot call me a stupid bitch. You’re grounded from electronics for the rest of the day. Now get in the car, and I will take you to school.”

I live with a son who is mentally ill. I love my son. But he terrifies me.

A few weeks ago, Michael pulled a knife and threatened to kill me and then himself after I asked him to return his overdue library books. His 7 and 9 year old siblings knew the safety plan—they ran to the car and locked the doors before I even asked them to. I managed to get the knife from Michael, then methodically collected all the sharp objects in the house into a single Tupperware container that now travels with me. Through it all, he continued to scream insults at me and threaten to kill or hurt me.

That conflict ended with three burly police officers and a paramedic wrestling my son onto a gurney for an expensive ambulance ride to the local emergency room. The mental hospital didn’t have any beds that day, and Michael calmed down nicely in the ER, so they sent us home with a prescription for Zyprexa and a follow-up visit with a local pediatric psychiatrist.

We still don’t know what’s wrong with Michael. Autism spectrum, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant or Intermittent Explosive Disorder have all been tossed around at various meetings with probation officers and social workers and counselors and teachers and school administrators. He’s been on a slew of antipsychotic and mood altering pharmaceuticals, a Russian novel of behavioral plans. Nothing seems to work.

At the start of seventh grade, Michael was accepted to an accelerated program for highly gifted math and science students. His IQ is off the charts. When he’s in a good mood, he will gladly bend your ear on subjects ranging from Greek mythology to the differences between Einsteinian and Newtonian physics to Doctor Who. He’s in a good mood most of the time. But when he’s not, watch out. And it’s impossible to predict what will set him off.

Several weeks into his new junior high school, Michael began exhibiting increasingly odd and threatening behaviors at school. We decided to transfer him to the district’s most restrictive behavioral program, a contained school environment where children who can’t function in normal classrooms can access their right to free public babysitting from 7:30-1:50 Monday through Friday until they turn 18.

The morning of the pants incident, Michael continued to argue with me on the drive. He would occasionally apologize and seem remorseful. Right before we turned into his school parking lot, he said, “Look, Mom, I’m really sorry. Can I have video games back today?”

“No way,” I told him. “You cannot act the way you acted this morning and think you can get your electronic privileges back that quickly.”

His face turned cold, and his eyes were full of calculated rage. “Then I’m going to kill myself,” he said. “I’m going to jump out of this car right now and kill myself.”

That was it. After the knife incident, I told him that if he ever said those words again, I would take him straight to the mental hospital, no ifs, ands, or buts. I did not respond, except to pull the car into the opposite lane, turning left instead of right.

“Where are you taking me?” he said, suddenly worried. “Where are we going?”

“You know where we are going,” I replied.

“No! You can’t do that to me! You’re sending me to hell! You’re sending me straight to hell!”

I pulled up in front of the hospital, frantically waiving for one of the clinicians who happened to be standing outside. “Call the police,” I said. “Hurry.”

Michael was in a full-blown fit by then, screaming and hitting. I hugged him close so he couldn’t escape from the car. He bit me several times and repeatedly jabbed his elbows into my rib cage. I’m still stronger than he is, but I won’t be for much longer.

The police came quickly and carried my son screaming and kicking into the bowels of the hospital. I started to shake, and tears filled my eyes as I filled out the paperwork—“Were there any difficulties with… at what age did your child… were there any problems with.. has your child ever experienced.. does your child have…”

At least we have health insurance now. I recently accepted a position with a local college, giving up my freelance career because when you have a kid like this, you need benefits. You’ll do anything for benefits. No individual insurance plan will cover this kind of thing.

For days, my son insisted that I was lying—that I made the whole thing up so that I could get rid of him. The first day, when I called to check up on him, he said, “I hate you. And I’m going to get my revenge as soon as I get out of here.”

By day three, he was my calm, sweet boy again, all apologies and promises to get better. I’ve heard those promises for years. I don’t believe them anymore.

On the intake form, under the question, “What are your expectations for treatment?” I wrote, “I need help.”

And I do. This problem is too big for me to handle on my own. Sometimes there are no good options. So you just pray for grace and trust that in hindsight, it will all make sense.

I am sharing this story because I am Adam Lanza’s mother. I am Dylan Klebold’s and Eric Harris’s mother. I am James Holmes’s mother. I am Jared Loughner’s mother. I am Seung-Hui Cho’s mother. And these boys—and their mothers—need help. In the wake of another horrific national tragedy, it’s easy to talk about guns. But it’s time to talk about mental illness.

According to Mother Jones, since 1982, 61 mass murders involving firearms have occurred throughout the country. Of these, 43 of the killers were white males, and only one was a woman. Mother Jones focused on whether the killers obtained their guns legally (most did). But this highly visible sign of mental illness should lead us to consider how many people in the U.S. live in fear, like I do.

When I asked my son’s social worker about my options, he said that the only thing I could do was to get Michael charged with a crime. “If he’s back in the system, they’ll create a paper trail,” he said.

“That’s the only way you’re ever going to get anything done. No one will pay attention to you unless you’ve got charges.”

I don’t believe my son belongs in jail. The chaotic environment exacerbates Michael’s sensitivity to sensory stimuli and doesn’t deal with the underlying pathology. But it seems like the United States is using prison as the solution of choice for mentally ill people. According to Human Rights Watch, the number of mentally ill inmates in U.S. prisons quadrupled from 2000 to 2006, and it continues to rise—in fact, the rate of inmate mental illness is five times greater (56 percent) than in the non-incarcerated population.

With state-run treatment centers and hospitals shuttered, prison is now the last resort for the mentally ill—Rikers Island, the LA County Jail and Cook County Jail in Illinois housed the nation’s largest treatment centers in 2011.

No one wants to send a 13-year old genius who loves Harry Potter and his snuggle animal collection to jail. But our society, with its stigma on mental illness and its broken healthcare system, does not provide us with other options. Then another tortured soul shoots up a fast food restaurant. A mall. A kindergarten classroom. And we wring our hands and say, “Something must be done.”

I agree that something must be done. It’s time for a meaningful, nation-wide conversation about mental health. That’s the only way our nation can ever truly heal.

God help me. God help Michael. God help us all.

10.16.2012

Where do I keep falling into a black hole?? LOL. It is crazy!! I have made an all out effort to keep having me time, but I seem to keep failing to write. I seem to be half assing a lot lately.

As my ticker shows ------------>

Even though we are only about (on Avg) 235 days away from an empty house, I seem to be still wrapped up in lots of people. Not really where I wanted to be in this stage, but working on it.

Mom --- Well she is still not taking back her agenda. I am still caring for her and #1 niece. Doesn't bother me about mom. Bothers me about niece. Though she lives with my mom I feel HER mother should be stepping up and help in the care of niece. I just don't understand why this seems to not be others opinion. But alas, I will. Last night I got the pleasure of dealing with nieces Parent/Teacher Conference. Which we now have renamed Aunt/Teacher Conference. :) Though my ideas of going forward with actions in classroom is totally different than those of my mother, or niece mother. But you put me in that position? I will do it MY WAY.  Mom is still not driving so *pointing to self* I on top of my other tasks are now Chauffeur. Which didn't I just hang up that hat? (ie son .. lol)

I will give moms husband credit, he took vacation last week and tried step in my place. They did okay. Though niece and mom were more than happy to see my return yesterday. ROFL Though I still didn't get a break as I spent everyday tearing apart 1 room of house and cleaning it silly. :P (Have a dinner coming up the house needed the extra TLC)

Teen --- I really haven't dealt with all that much lately. Luckily he can sort of manage on his own. But really hasn't been making great choices, though I don't have the time to stand on top of it to correct. Due dates for Colleges are coming and going. Unfortunately more going than coming. *sigh* I am not sure at this rate he will be attending. But I have got to let it go. Just as his career choice has changed. I have to let it go. Who am I to say what to do in life? (Though my OBJECTION is duly noted. *grr*) He is still being stalked by the ex-girlfriend NC. The new girlfriend SM (according to him) messed up and went to another Homecoming with another guy, so they are on the outs, oh wait no back on the ins, wait no, umm .. what day of the week is it? LOL .. saying this on and off thing I can't keep straight.

Husband --- Do I still have one? lol. Yeah, he is just around. We met coming and going. Quite a bit. Though we have been making time to at least go to Farmer's Market & having lunch. So we catch up then. His hours have been crazy, but soon he will have a new, and oh so we hope PERMANENT, position on days. Oh yeah that is awesome. But really why matter now? Teen grown and 1 foot out door. Nothing going on around here now. lol. Oh well. Least he can now do his thing. SPORTS. Gotta watch those sports. *giggle*

So that is about the wrap up around here. I am still spreading self thin and meeting self coming and going.

Which brings me to a quote I saw this morning on MFP:

OK....This weeks word of the week wreaks of this.....ATTITUDE!!!!
We all got it...we all display it in different ways....
However...sometimes we get the "TUDE" for the wrong reasons...
Now tell me...why do u act like this just cant be happening
when the scale heads upward,
especially after u stuffed your face with all the high caloric content,
then u want to step on the scale and act all angelic!!! Come on....
Thats not the attitude i'm referring to...
I want the "TUDE"...the one where positive vibes just flow...
I want the "TUDE" that this too shall pass,
I WANT THE ATTITUDE that no matter how i stumble,
i will find a way to correct my mistakes, my falters, my temptations...
and turn it all around...WHY???
Cuz i have the attitude I'm worth it!!!
So there ya go...give me some ATTITUDE!!!

But this just isn't about scales, weight-loss, and eating for me. I feel this in many avenues in life at this moment. I really need to do some more soul searching. I have come a long way, but there is more I need to adjust.

10.1.12

Fall is here. Cooler weather is here. I am so excited about our upcoming vacation. I managed to pay in full and book the Condo. Also have the Hotels booked and paid in full. So most of the top pay items are out of the way.

September was a slow weight loss. But I was busier than a bee in a beehive with taking care of this house plus my moms. Her surgery recovery is been slower than I expected.

9.20.12

Had the most perfect day. Spent it with the hub. Weather was perfect. Walking around the city. Perfect. Watching baseball game. Wonderful. It was a fun. fun. day.

Most fun I have had in a long time. The High School FBLA was there for Career day. Only seen son once, when he came to pick up his money of course. :)

I even behaved with my eating. Packed snacked. Drank Water. Stayed away from concession. Woo Hoo!! Now after? Not so much. Hooters was not the best choice. But I will say walking all the blocks from Baseball Stadium, to Hooters, then to the Hockey Stadium helped me feel a little better about that choice. :)

Lastly my favorite pitcher. Motte.

9.9.2012

Nothing really new to report. Seems like the days are just blending together. Which to be honest doesn't bother me one bit. It can stay this quiet for the next 280+ days. This is how a school year is suppose to be.

Of course it would not be the district if wasn't some snag here and there. Graduation is later this year than it has been in all the 5+ years I have been tracking the date. So cutting close to the vacation we want to plan. But really, not the end of the world. Just another speed bump.

Last week Hub talked me into giving golf a try. I said I would give it an honest try, and I will. Just think a different teacher would help. lol. Shhhhh So he tracked down a set of clubs he thought would be good on Craigslist.

September 3, 2012

Been to driving range twice so far. Second time was better as a) not as warm. b) wore sleeveless shirt. So we will see. Least even at the driving range, I am getting exercise and getting out. ;)

The weight loss is at a stall. So time to mix it up. Get over the slump, I am determined to get to my first goal by April 30. So still being soda free from the August Challenge, time to add to the list. Today I made a new playlist for my walking/exercise/running .. routine.

I love the Skinny Ms. Website I found another challenge. So now I am going to do the 7 Day Push-Up Challenge starting tomorrow.

Let's see if we can make some changes for the next weigh-in.

DARK CHOCOLATE
If you need a good excuse to eat your chocolate, look no further. Dark chocolate (not milk chocolate) may be great for cardiovascular health, premature aging and cancer. And guess what!? Dark chocolate is low on the glycemic index!

FIGS
I had a fig tree in my yard growing up and I never ate a single fig. Of course now, I could kick myself for it. Why? Because figs may aid in weight loss, lower blood pressure and cholesterol and may even fight cancer. Not bad for this old world fruit!

While we have to be increasingly careful about the fish we eat, it’s incredibly healthy for you if you can find the good stuff. It may protect your heart, fight cancer and strengthen your immune system.

Most folks these days know the benefits of eating garlic. But just in case you don’t, here’s the low-down. PUMPKIN
Some folks see pumpkins as something to carve once a year. But the truth is, your friendly Jack-O-Lantern also provides tons of fiber and may control blood pressure and normalize heart function. So this year, carve your pumpkin a few hours before dark, and then bring it in for cooking when the festivities are finished.

We all know we have to get our 8 glasses of water every day (although, we also now know that it can very according to your size and weight). But why is water so vital? Put aside the fact that your body is mostly water to begin with, and you’re left with the fact that water may help you lose weight, fight cancer, keep your skin in great condition and help you battle kidney stones.

WATERMELON
This wonderful summer time treat may be a fabulous aid for weight loss, lowering cholesterol, avoiding strokes and controlling your blood pressure. So eat up!

The healthiest “germ” you’ll ever include in your diet! It may help fight colon cancer, keep things “moving smoothly” and help your digestion in a big way.

WHEAT BRAN
Bran is just as important as the germ. It may help fight colon cancer and keep constipation at bay. But it may also lower cholesterol while it keeps your digestion moving smoothly.

YOGURT
Choose non-fat Greek yogurt to get more protein on top of the following benefits: it may help with increased bone strength, lower cholesterol, a better immune system and better digestion. May also be great for ulcers.

8182012

Wow! It is already Saturday again. This week rolled on through. Though that is a good thing. Teens week went well. A little bump in the road with parking, but as I suspected all squared away by yesterday. :)

Teen really liked getting out early Friday so he and dad could golf. Golfing now. Hey! What ever floats your boat. They are actually out again today golfing, so I have a nice and quiet day. One class he is taking is Home Repair and Maintenance. That will come in handy. :) Today for a matter of fact he replaced the spot light on garage and replaced a light switch. You go on with your bad self.

I have still been doing well with eating and exercise. Though my mom had me out eating way more than I like. (Well I like it, don't get me wrong, but not sure help with weight loss) I managed to walk 3 out of the 5 days this week. So that was a PLUS. Tomorrow is weigh in. I didn't drink as much as the Fat Flush water (I hate that name I may rename that .. lol) this week but I still did drink it.

I am proud I am still soda free. I have been ordering water when out. Haven't had the Kool-aid, crystal light, nadda, in the house. Either the FFW or Plain water for me. :) I am very proud of that.

So this past week goals were:
  • Walk at least 3 times this week.
  • Drink Fat Flush water 4x
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. soda Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office some more
  • Clean out hall closet
  • Work on washing the hoodies I have left all summer.
  • Work on ScrapBook on MixBooks

Goals for this week. I think I will just keep continuing on with the same ones, and add a couple new ones.

  • Walk at least 4 times this week.
  • Drink Fat Flush water 4x
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. soda Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office some more
  • Clean out hall closet
  • Scrub Bathroom Down

So we will see. My mother is going back to Dr. on Wednesday to see when they will be scheduling her surgery. So Plans might get all whacked out of place. So we will have to see.

Until later ..

Senior Year

Yep! I can not believe it. When I started this blog he was in 5th grade and 10 years old. Now 12th grade and 17. Crazy. Where did the time go?

So yesterday he was out of school by 10:33. But today was a tad later. So looks like A days are 1/2 days, but B days will be almost full day. Well guess better than nothing.

All quiet so far. Let it stay that way. :)

With Niece #1 back in school and teen in school was able to get back to walking with mom. So both days walked. Tomorrow I will be walking with DH (CDD) or by self.  We will see. I think he will bail, but its okay. I will go alone. ;)

Water hasn't flowing as easy. I need to work on that. PLUS, mom wanting to eat after walking each day isn't that wise either. ROFL.

Heat is due to roll in next 2 days. I hate having to close up house. :( But hopefully just for the next 2 days. Still not as bad as the summer with 100+ degrees. Just high 90's.

Tomorrow brings already the middle of the week. Woo Hoo!!

Updating the week.

So this past week goals were:
  • Walk at least 3 times this week.
  • Drink this 3x day for at least 3 days this week.
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office

Goals for this week. I think I will just keep continueing on with the same ones, and add a couple new ones.
  • Walk at least 3 times this week.
  • Drink Fat Flush water 4x
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. soda Challenge.
  • Work on Cleaning Office so more
  • Clean out hall closet
  • Work on washing the hoodies I have left all summer.
  • Work on ScrapBook on MixBooks

So I lost little over 3lbs this past week. I can only think the water helped. So I will continue drinking the water, but I will be adding other beverages to the mix. ;) I finally had to give up wearing a few of the shorts I had been trying to hang on to. They just were not fitting right anymore. I started to put them in the donation pile, but I am afraid to turn them loose. So I packed them away. I am really trying to fight off buying new clothes yet. I dont want to have to keep replacing. So I think I will just live with baggy clothes until Spring/Summer 2013. All new clothes for the trip. ;)

Tomorrow school starts again.

Snoozy Saturday

It amazes me how much our weekends have changed now that teen is older. No more crazy running around like mad, where did the weekend go, weekends. I can't tell you the last time we had ANY plans on a weekend. You would think I would miss it ... I dont. Not yet at least.

This is the last weekend before school starts. Senior Year. Man did time fly. I remember the first day of Kindergarten. Now here we are 13 years later. lol

I spend all week drinking the fat flush. I can not wait to see if it helped along any weight lost. I was very good about recording annd keeping track this week. I really wish I had been better at exercise. But I did work on all my goals and can not ask for anymore than that. :)

Weather has been wonderful last 2 days. Low 80's. I am so glad the 100's are a distant memory right now. I hope we do not see them again this year. :)

Well off to enjoy the rest of my day. Doing nothing. :)

Middle of the Week .. going to quick!!

So Sunday I set some mini goals for myself. Hoping to do better with items I want to accomplish.

So far ..

Goals for this week.
  • Walk at least 3 times this week.  <--- Twice so far. I have had other things to deal with couple days. Tomorrow should be better. Still to warm to get out so I can only get to Mall, and I have to be in & out before 10. So that is an obstacal
  • Drink this 3x day for at least 3 days this week. <--- I am currently day four. It has been a joy. Makes me want to drink more water. The first batch was too much mint, the second probably had a little more cucumbers than should been, but it was okay.
  • Continue the Skinny Ms. Challenge. <--- Still Soda free & honestly. I do not miss it. There is actually soda in frig right now and I have not even given second thought.
  • Work on Cleaning Office <--- I actually did get to part of this. Still needs some TLC, but after seeing my moms office I am not that all upset with mine. LOL

I actually am looking forward to my weigh in Sunday. I am excited to see if the FAT FLUSH WATER (that I renamed cucumber water for Niece #1 purposes) has help nudge my stall. I also have been doing better logging into My Fitness Pal . Recording my foods, and exercises so I hope I start seeing results again. I really am hoping to hit my goal by May 1. But we will see.

I can only do what I can do, I can only get the results I put in. So if I dont do the work, like I did all summer, I cannot expect changes. ;)

Someone post a quote on MFP that I thought really put things in perspective:

"Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated."

So with that I will close for today. I have niece #1 over while Teen & my mom clean out her room. She is a pack rat and can't ever throw things away. lol .. School starts tomorrow for her. They had to dig the room out so she could even get to the bed. lol. Crazy!!
